A man died Monday after from jumping from an upper-level window of a downtown apartment building.
Chris Malecki, 37, was found about 10:10 a.m. on the sidewalk outside of the Riverfront Apartment complex, 245 N. Summit St. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Construction workers in the area heard a crash and called 911, said Toledo Police Lt. Joe Heffernan.
Police said it appeared he jumped from his residence on the 15th floor, and there was no foul play.
Sherron Linear, 38, stood outside the complex as police investigated. He’s lived there for 15 years and described the incident as “nerve-wracking.”
“I’ve never seen anything like this before,” he said.
Summit was temporarily closed to vehicle traffic during the investigation.
