#10 Malta
Malta is an archipelago or a group of islands in the Mediterranean Sea. It is located 50 miles south of Italy. The country is 122sq miles which is 10 miles smaller than Las Vegas, Nevada.
Malta is small enough that you may not have realized its importance to world history. Its location has given it great importance as it has been ruled by various leaders such as the Phoenicians, Greeks, Romans, Byzantines, Knights of St. John, and many more.
King George VI even awarded the George Cross to Malta in 1942 for Malta’s great bravery in World War II. This is why the Cross is on Malta’s national flag. It wasn’t until 1964 that Malta gained independence from the United Kingdom and then became a republic in 1974. The official languages of Malta are Maltese and English. Maltese is very unique in that it descends from the Arabic that developed in Sicily between the 9th and 12th century. It evolved independently of Arabic and became Latinised over the years. Its population as 2015 is about 432,000 people.
Malta is a popular destination for tourists mostly for its historical monuments and structures. Its beautiful views and crystal clear water surrounding the island make it a wonderful place to visit. The clear view of the crystal sea surrounding the island is also appealing. Valletta, which is Malta’s number one destination, is the shining star. Its 16th century buildings are in wonderful condition. The shocker? Valletta is hardly 1000ft across. So much to see in such a small area!
#9 Maldives
The Maldives is a South Asian country located in the Arabian Sea. What is so unique about the Maldives is that it’s made up of 26 atolls that spread out over the sea. Because of this, it is one of the most widely dispersed countries in the world. The name Maldives could literally translate into garland or necklace islands.
An atoll is a ring-shaped coral reef that encircles a lagoon partially or completely. There are 26 of these in the Maldives that separate the islands. It isn’t just widely dispersed, but it is also the lowest country in the world as far as elevation goes. Even its highest point is the lowest. The average height is around 5 feet above sea level, and the highest point in the entire nation is just under 8 feet (about 2.4 meters). One of the most highly sought after experiences in the Maldives is their adventure tourism that offers tourists a chance to swim with sharks, manta rays, and other sea creatures.
Islam was adopted in 1153 and the islands were under the Sultan of Ceylon (now Sri Lanka).
While it used to be considered an isolated nation with an authoritarian government, it has now become one of the top luxury travel destinations in the world. Population? About 409,000.
#8 Saint Kitts and Nevis
The Federation of Saint Kitts and Nevis is a two-island country in the West Indies. Again, this country may seem unimportant but it has been called "The Mother Colony of the West Indies" and is in fact the birthplace of Alexander Hamilton.
Nevis was originally called San Martin by Christopher Columbus in 1493.Columbus originally named the island after his patron saint, St.Christopher. It isn’t known who changed the name to St. Kitts and Nevis. Its area is about 269k2 (104 m2)
Currently the population is around 55,500. Tourists are attracted to Saint Kitts and Nevis for its nature. Many believe the combination of the mountainous beauty and majestic sea is beyond is the perfect paradise. From botanical gardens to beautiful beaches, Saint Kitts and Nevis are one of a kind. But their most popular attraction is their national park. Besides natural wonders, this park is full of barracks and other military defenses from centuries ago. The French, Spanish, and the Kalinago people all built barriers and other military structures here and many of them still stand today.
Like many of the surrounding islands, St. Kitts was formed by volcanoes, the tallest thought to have erupted some 200 years ago.

5. Frrrozen Haute Chocolate Ice Cream Sundae
New York is known for being a rich, upscale place. But the city has outdone itself with this dessert from Serendipity 3. This is their Frrrozen Haute Chocolate Ice Cream Sundae--an insanely expensive version of their normal hot chocolate--and it’ll cost you $25,000. The dessert has to be ordered 48 hours in advance because the restaurant has to fly in very specific ingredients to create it including a French chocolate truffle and five grams of 24-karat gold. Also flown in are 14 secret cocoas from Africa and South America. But you’re not just paying for the ice cream, you’re also paying for the privilege to eat it with a solid gold spoon out of r.
4. Tacos
Tacos are maybe the ultimate food. They’re perfect any time of the day and they pack a ton of flavor into a little bite. More often than not, we’re buying them in bulk on Taco Tuesdays just about anywhere, but this taco is a once-in-a-lifetime deal. At $25,000, this is an indulgence the majority of people can’t afford. But, let’s say you do have an extra $25,000 lying around. Head to Grand Velas Los Cabos Resort in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. This taco is not your average iceberg lettuce, cheddar cheese, and ground beef. Oh no. It’s much more than that. The taco is made with Kobe beef, among the most expensive cuts in the world. It’s topped with Almas Beluga caviar (the world’s most expensive at $17,000 per pound) and black truffle brie cheese. And of course, no flour tortillas here. Instead, the corn tortilla is infused with gold leaf. At this price, it has to be delicious, but we’re probably sticking to fast food tacos for now.
3. Faberge (faberzhey) Chocolate Pudding
The original Faberge eggs were Easter eggs created by Carl Faberge for the Russian Imperial family beginning in 1885. Only fifty were ever made and many of them were lost after the revolution of 1917. Real Faberge eggs can sell for tens of millions of dollars, but this dessert crafted by the head chef at Lindeth Howe Country House will only cost you $35,000. The dessert was modeled after a Faberge egg created by Carl’s grandson, Theo, which also sold for $35,000. This edible egg took the title of most expensive dessert from Serendipity 3 in 2011. Lindeth’s chocolate pudding includes champagne caviar, four different Belgian chocolates, and is covered in 24-karat gold leaf and topped with a 2-karat diamond. Because of these difficult ingredients, the dessert has to be ordered three weeks in advance. After spending $35,000 on the dessert and having it arrive in a replica Faberge egg, it’s almost too beautiful to eat and to our knowledge only one person has ever ordered it: Carl Weininger, who needed a pick-me-up after being dumped by his girlfriend.
2. Takashimaya Department Store Christmas Cake
It should come as no surprise that this cake was a one-of-a-kind oddity in 2005. That is, this $1.7 million cake will never be made again. Christmas cakes are popular in Japan and are usually just a simple sponge cake, topped with cream and strawberries. But Takashimaya is changing the game with their version. It’s a hexagonal fruit cake coated in a layer of marzipan. But while most cakes are decorated with buttercream or royal icing, this cake took its decorations from a jewelry store. It was covered in a total of 223 diamonds and a single 5-karat diamond on top giving the cake its immense price tag. It stood on display in the department store as a publicity stunt, but did get several offers to purchase it. The cake attracted so many visitors, the department store did it again in 2006 with a chocolate cake covered in 100 diamonds and valued at $850,000.
1. Strawberries Arnaud
We can’t think of a single reason to drop nearly $4 million on a dessert made of strawberries and cream, but if you can, then take a trip to New Orleans to visit Arnaud’s. The dessert is part of a proposal package and used to come with a 4.71-karat diamond ring. Then, the dessert only cost a measly $1.4 million. These days, that particular ring is no longer available, forcing Arnaud’s to replace the ring with a 7-karat pink diamond ring. The strawberries are marinated in port, red wine, citrus and a blend of spices. Then, they’re topped with vanilla ice cream. That’s all. Without the ring, the dessert will cost you just under $9. With the ring, the dessert climbs to $3.95 million and comes with a port poured from a $25,000 Charles X crystal cave liqueur set. The owner of the restaurant fully acknowledges the insanity of their signature dessert and has said it is their worst selling item on the menu.

World of Dance is a Cerritos, California based global media company founded by David Gonzalez, Herman Flores, and Myron Marten in 2008. NBC
The National Broadcasting Company (NBC) is an American commercial broadcast television and radio network that is the flagship property of NBCUniversal, a subsidiary of Comcast. The network is headquartered in the Comcast Building (formerly known as the GE Building) at Rockefeller Center in New York City, with additional major offices near Los Angeles (at Universal City Plaza), Chicago (at the NBC Tower) and soon in Philadelphia at Comcast Innovation and Technology Center. The network is part of the Big Three television networks. NBC is sometimes referred to as the "Peacock Network", in reference to its stylized peacock logo, which was originally created in 1956 for its then-new color broadcasts and became the network's official emblem in 1979.
Founded in 1926 by the Radio Corporation of America (RCA), NBC is the oldest major broadcast network in the United States. In 1986, control of NBC passed to General Electric (GE) – which previously owned RCA and NBC until 1930, when it was forced to sell the companies as a result of antitrust charges – through its $6.4 billion purchase of RCA. Following the acquisition by GE (which later liquidated RCA), Bob Wright served as chief executive officer of NBC, remaining in that position until his retirement in 2007, when he was succeeded by Jeff Zucker. In 2003, French media company Vivendi merged its entertainment assets with GE, forming NBC Universal. Comcast purchased a controlling interest in the company in 2011, and acquired General Electric's remaining stake in 2013. Following the Comcast merger, Zucker left NBC Universal and was replaced as CEO by Comcast executive Steve Burke.

It is located 50 miles south of Italy. The country is 122sq miles which is 10 miles smaller than Las Vegas, Nevada. Malta is small enough that you may not have realized its importance to world history. Its location has given it great importance as it has been ruled by various leaders such as the Phoenicians, Greeks, Romans, Byzantines, Knights of St. John, and many more. King George VI even awarded the George Cross to Malta in 1942 for Malta’s great bravery in World War II. This is why the Cross is on Malta’s national flag. It wasn’t until 1964 that Malta gained independence from the United Kingdom and then became a republic in 1974. The official languages of Malta are Maltese and English. Maltese is very unique in that it descends from the Arabic that developed in Sicily between the 9th and 12th century. It evolved independently of Arabic and became Latinised over the years. Its population as 2015 is about 432,000 people. Malta is a popular destination for tourists mostly for its historical monuments and structures. Its beautiful views and crystal clear water surrounding the island make it a wonderful place to visit. The clear view of the crystal sea surrounding the island is also appealing. Valletta, which is Malta’s number one destination, is the shining star. Its 16th century buildings are in wonderful condition. The shocker? Valletta is hardly 1000ft across. So much to see in such a small area! #9 Maldives The Maldives is a South Asian country located in the Arabian Sea. What is so unique about the Maldives is that it’s made up of 26 atolls that spread out over the sea. Because of this, it is one of the most widely dispersed countries in the world. The name Maldives could literally translate into garland or necklace islands. An atoll is a ring-shaped coral reef that encircles a lagoon partially or completely. There are 26 of these in the Maldives that separate the islands. It isn’t just widely dispersed, but it is also the lowest country in the world as far as elevation goes. Even its highest point is the lowest. The average height is around 5 feet above sea level, and the highest point in the entire nation is just under 8 feet (about 2.4 meters). One of the most highly sought after experiences in the Maldives is their adventure tourism that offers tourists a chance to swim with sharks, manta rays, and other sea creatures. Islam was adopted in 1153 and the islands were under the Sultan of Ceylon (now Sri Lanka). While it used to be considered an isolated nation with an authoritarian government, it has now become one of the top luxury travel destinations in the world. Population? About 409,000. #8 Saint Kitts and Nevis The Federation of Saint Kitts and Nevis is a two-island country in the West Indies. Again, this country may seem unimportant but it has been called "The Mother Colony of the West Indies" and is in fact the birthplace of Alexander Hamilton. Nevis was originally called San Martin by Christopher Columbus in 1493.Columbus originally named the island after his patron saint, St.Christopher. It isn’t known who changed the name to St. Kitts and Nevis. Its area is about 269k2 (104 m2) Currently the population is around 55,500. Tourists are attracted to Saint Kitts and Nevis for its nature. Many believe the combination of the mountainous beauty and majestic sea is beyond is the perfect paradise. From botanical gardens to beautiful beaches, Saint Kitts and Nevis are one of a kind. But their most popular attraction is their national park. Besides natural wonders, this park is full of barracks and other military defenses from centuries ago. The French, Spanish, and the Kalinago people all built barriers and other military structures here and many of them still stand today. Like many of the surrounding islands, St. Kitts was formed by volcanoes, the tallest thought to have erupted some 200 years ago. -

Frrrozen Haute Chocolate Ice Cream Sundae New York is known for being a rich, upscale place. But the city has outdone itself with this dessert from Serendipity 3. This is their Frrrozen Haute Chocolate Ice Cream Sundae--an insanely expensive version of their normal hot chocolate--and it’ll cost you $25,000. The dessert has to be ordered 48 hours in advance because the restaurant has to fly in very specific ingredients to create it including a French chocolate truffle and five grams of 24-karat gold. Also flown in are 14 secret cocoas from Africa and South America. But you’re not just paying for the ice cream, you’re also paying for the privilege to eat it with a solid gold spoon out of r. 4. Tacos Tacos are maybe the ultimate food. They’re perfect any time of the day and they pack a ton of flavor into a little bite. More often than not, we’re buying them in bulk on Taco Tuesdays just about anywhere, but this taco is a once-in-a-lifetime deal. At $25,000, this is an indulgence the majority of people can’t afford. But, let’s say you do have an extra $25,000 lying around. Head to Grand Velas Los Cabos Resort in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. This taco is not your average iceberg lettuce, cheddar cheese, and ground beef. Oh no. It’s much more than that. The taco is made with Kobe beef, among the most expensive cuts in the world. It’s topped with Almas Beluga caviar (the world’s most expensive at $17,000 per pound) and black truffle brie cheese. And of course, no flour tortillas here. Instead, the corn tortilla is infused with gold leaf. At this price, it has to be delicious, but we’re probably sticking to fast food tacos for now. 3. Faberge (faberzhey) Chocolate Pudding The original Faberge eggs were Easter eggs created by Carl Faberge for the Russian Imperial family beginning in 1885. Only fifty were ever made and many of them were lost after the revolution of 1917. Real Faberge eggs can sell for tens of millions of dollars, but this dessert crafted by the head chef at Lindeth Howe Country House will only cost you $35,000. The dessert was modeled after a Faberge egg created by Carl’s grandson, Theo, which also sold for $35,000. This edible egg took the title of most expensive dessert from Serendipity 3 in 2011. Lindeth’s chocolate pudding includes champagne caviar, four different Belgian chocolates, and is covered in 24-karat gold leaf and topped with a 2-karat diamond. Because of these difficult ingredients, the dessert has to be ordered three weeks in advance. After spending $35,000 on the dessert and having it arrive in a replica Faberge egg, it’s almost too beautiful to eat and to our knowledge only one person has ever ordered it: Carl Weininger, who needed a pick-me-up after being dumped by his girlfriend. 2. Takashimaya Department Store Christmas Cake It should come as no surprise that this cake was a one-of-a-kind oddity in 2005. That is, this $1.7 million cake will never be made again. Christmas cakes are popular in Japan and are usually just a simple sponge cake, topped with cream and strawberries. But Takashimaya is changing the game with their version. It’s a hexagonal fruit cake coated in a layer of marzipan. But while most cakes are decorated with buttercream or royal icing, this cake took its decorations from a jewelry store. It was covered in a total of 223 diamonds and a single 5-karat diamond on top giving the cake its immense price tag. It stood on display in the department store as a publicity stunt, but did get several offers to purchase it. The cake attracted so many visitors, the department store did it again in 2006 with a chocolate cake covered in 100 diamonds and valued at $850,000. 1. Strawberries Arnaud We can’t think of a single reason to drop nearly $4 million on a dessert made of strawberries and cream, but if you can, then take a trip to New Orleans to visit Arnaud’s. The dessert is part of a proposal package and used to come with a 4.71-karat diamond ring. Then, the dessert only cost a measly $1.4 million. These days, that particular ring is no longer available, forcing Arnaud’s to replace the ring with a 7-karat pink diamond ring. The strawberries are marinated in port, red wine, citrus and a blend of spices. Then, they’re topped with vanilla ice cream. That’s all. Without the ring, the dessert will cost you just under $9. With the ring, the dessert climbs to $3.95 million and comes with a port poured from a $25,000 Charles X crystal cave liqueur set. The owner of the restaurant fully acknowledges the insanity of their signature dessert and has said it is their worst selling item on the menu. -

Spain´s highest mountain @(3718m) is one of the best places in the world to photograph the stars and is also the location of Teide Observatories, considered to be one of the world´s best observatories. The goal was to capture the beautiful Milky Way galaxy along with one of the most amazing mountains I know El Teide. I have to say this was one of the most exhausting trips I have done. There was a lot of hiking at high altitudes and probably less than 10 hours of sleep in total for the whole week. Having been here 10-11 times before I had a long list of must-see locations I wanted to capture for this movie, but I am still not 100% used to carrying around so much gear required for time-lapse movies. A large sandstorm hit the Sahara Desert on the 9th April (http://bit.ly/g3tsDW) and at approx 3am in the night the sandstorm hit me, making it nearly impossible to see the sky with my own eyes. Interestingly enough my camera was set for a 5 hour sequence of the milky way during this time and I was sure my whole scene was ruined. To my surprise, my camera had managed to capture the sandstorm which was backlit by Grand Canary Island making it look like golden clouds. The Milky Way was shining through the clouds, making the stars sparkle in an interesting way. So if you ever wondered how the Milky Way would look through a Sahara sandstorm, look at 00:32. The series revolves around Evie Ethel Garland, who is the daughter of Troy and Donna Garland. However, Troy is an alien from the planet Antereus. She can pause and un-pause time, "gleep" objects into existence, and can transport herself from one place to another. Troy is living on Antereus and is never seen, but Evie talks to him via a crystal cube. Evie is thirteen at the beginning of the series and lives with her mother in Marlowe, California. Visitors to the Garland home include Donna's brother Beano Froelich; the mayor Kyle Applegate, a former actor; Lindsey Selkirk, Evie's best friend; Chris Fuller, Evie's boyfriend; and Buzz, who tends to take things literally. Episodes usually revolve around Evie getting herself out of a situation that she has caused.

Our World
OUR WORLD follows two prep school students (Drew and Owen) as they navigate the excitement and pitfalls of adolescence (i.e. sex, drugs and getting into the college of one's choice). When their alpha male status is threatened through a series of unfortunate and shocking events, adulthood is suddenly thrust upon them. The youths discover how quickly the age of innocence ends. Adding coal to the fire, Owen's mother (a jet-setting, young widow) learns-at the reading of her late husband's will-that her wealth has all but evaporated. A moral dilemma ensues. How far she will go to maintain appearances and her rung on the social ladder? Her partner in crime is a beautiful socialite who seems to have it all: a successful, loving husband; the perfect teenage son (Drew); and a secure place at the top of the social pyramid. With the arrival of her obsessive, status seeking mother (played by a soon to be announced daytime television veteran), her world comes crashing down in a scandal of infidelity, abuse and-potentially-murder.

Spain´s highest mountain @(3718m) is one of the best places in the world to photograph the stars and is also the location of Teide Observatories, considered to be one of the world´s best observatories. The goal was to capture the beautiful Milky Way galaxy along with one of the most amazing mountains I know El Teide. I have to say this was one of the most exhausting trips I have done. Using text adapted from Robert Marshalls "Alaska Wilderness: Exploring the Brooks Range" (1929) and images from Expedition Arguk (2013), "The World Beyond the World" aims to celebrate that most ancient and sublime of human pleasures: moving through a mysterious, beautiful, and unknown landscape. In 2013, Expedition Arguk walked and packrafted across 300 miles of wilderness in the Alaska Arctic in order to report on Arctic issues and create public-use media from this far-off but increasingly important region. #10 Malta
Malta is an archipelago or a group of islands in the Mediterranean Sea. It is located 50 miles south of Italy. The country is 122sq miles which is 10 miles smaller than Las Vegas, Nevada.
Malta is small enough that you may not have realized its importance to world history. Its location has given it great importance as it has been ruled by various leaders such as the Phoenicians, Greeks, Romans, Byzantines, Knights of St. John, and many more.
King George VI even awarded the George Cross to Malta in 1942 for Malta’s great bravery in World War II. This is why the Cross is on Malta’s national flag. It wasn’t until 1964 that Malta gained independence from the United Kingdom and then became a republic in 1974. The official languages of Malta are Maltese and English. Maltese is very unique in that it descends from the Arabic that developed in Sicily between the 9th and 12th century. It evolved independently of Arabic and became Latinised over the years. Its population as 2015 is about 432,000 people.
Malta is a popular destination for tourists mostly for its historical monuments and structures. Its beautiful views and crystal clear water surrounding the island make it a wonderful place to visit. The clear view of the crystal sea surrounding the island is also appealing. Valletta, which is Malta’s number one destination, is the shining star. Its 16th century buildings are in wonderful condition. The shocker? Valletta is hardly 1000ft across. So much to see in such a small area!
#9 Maldives
The Maldives is a South Asian country located in the Arabian Sea. What is so unique about the Maldives is that it’s made up of 26 atolls that spread out over the sea. Because of this, it is one of the most widely dispersed countries in the world. The name Maldives could literally translate into garland or necklace islands.
An atoll is a ring-shaped coral reef that encircles a lagoon partially or completely. There are 26 of these in the Maldives that separate the islands. It isn’t just widely dispersed, but it is also the lowest country in the world as far as elevation goes. Even its highest point is the lowest. The average height is around 5 feet above sea level, and the highest point in the entire nation is just under 8 feet (about 2.4 meters). One of the most highly sought after experiences in the Maldives is their adventure tourism that offers tourists a chance to swim with sharks, manta rays, and other sea creatures.
Islam was adopted in 1153 and the islands were under the Sultan of Ceylon (now Sri Lanka).
While it used to be considered an isolated nation with an authoritarian government, it has now become one of the top luxury travel destinations in the world. Population? About 409,000.
#8 Saint Kitts and Nevis
The Federation of Saint Kitts and Nevis is a two-island country in the West Indies. Again, this country may seem unimportant but it has been called "The Mother Colony of the West Indies" and is in fact the birthplace of Alexander Hamilton.
Nevis was originally called San Martin by Christopher Columbus in 1493.Columbus originally named the island after his patron saint, St.Christopher. It isn’t known who changed the name to St. Kitts and Nevis. Its area is about 269k2 (104 m2)
Currently the population is around 55,500. Tourists are attracted to Saint Kitts and Nevis for its nature. Many believe the combination of the mountainous beauty and majestic sea is beyond is the perfect paradise. From botanical gardens to beautiful beaches, Saint Kitts and Nevis are one of a kind. But their most popular attraction is their national park. Besides natural wonders, this park is full of barracks and other military defenses from centuries ago. The French, Spanish, and the Kalinago people all built barriers and other military structures here and many of them still stand today.
Like many of the surrounding islands, St. Kitts was formed by volcanoes, the tallest thought to have erupted some 200 years ago.

5. Frrrozen Haute Chocolate Ice Cream Sundae
New York is known for being a rich, upscale place. But the city has outdone itself with this dessert from Serendipity 3. This is their Frrrozen Haute Chocolate Ice Cream Sundae--an insanely expensive version of their normal hot chocolate--and it’ll cost you $25,000. The dessert has to be ordered 48 hours in advance because the restaurant has to fly in very specific ingredients to create it including a French chocolate truffle and five grams of 24-karat gold. Also flown in are 14 secret cocoas from Africa and South America. But you’re not just paying for the ice cream, you’re also paying for the privilege to eat it with a solid gold spoon out of r.
4. Tacos
Tacos are maybe the ultimate food. They’re perfect any time of the day and they pack a ton of flavor into a little bite. More often than not, we’re buying them in bulk on Taco Tuesdays just about anywhere, but this taco is a once-in-a-lifetime deal. At $25,000, this is an indulgence the majority of people can’t afford. But, let’s say you do have an extra $25,000 lying around. Head to Grand Velas Los Cabos Resort in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. This taco is not your average iceberg lettuce, cheddar cheese, and ground beef. Oh no. It’s much more than that. The taco is made with Kobe beef, among the most expensive cuts in the world. It’s topped with Almas Beluga caviar (the world’s most expensive at $17,000 per pound) and black truffle brie cheese. And of course, no flour tortillas here. Instead, the corn tortilla is infused with gold leaf. At this price, it has to be delicious, but we’re probably sticking to fast food tacos for now.
3. Faberge (faberzhey) Chocolate Pudding
The original Faberge eggs were Easter eggs created by Carl Faberge for the Russian Imperial family beginning in 1885. Only fifty were ever made and many of them were lost after the revolution of 1917. Real Faberge eggs can sell for tens of millions of dollars, but this dessert crafted by the head chef at Lindeth Howe Country House will only cost you $35,000. The dessert was modeled after a Faberge egg created by Carl’s grandson, Theo, which also sold for $35,000. This edible egg took the title of most expensive dessert from Serendipity 3 in 2011. Lindeth’s chocolate pudding includes champagne caviar, four different Belgian chocolates, and is covered in 24-karat gold leaf and topped with a 2-karat diamond. Because of these difficult ingredients, the dessert has to be ordered three weeks in advance. After spending $35,000 on the dessert and having it arrive in a replica Faberge egg, it’s almost too beautiful to eat and to our knowledge only one person has ever ordered it: Carl Weininger, who needed a pick-me-up after being dumped by his girlfriend.
2. Takashimaya Department Store Christmas Cake
It should come as no surprise that this cake was a one-of-a-kind oddity in 2005. That is, this $1.7 million cake will never be made again. Christmas cakes are popular in Japan and are usually just a simple sponge cake, topped with cream and strawberries. But Takashimaya is changing the game with their version. It’s a hexagonal fruit cake coated in a layer of marzipan. But while most cakes are decorated with buttercream or royal icing, this cake took its decorations from a jewelry store. It was covered in a total of 223 diamonds and a single 5-karat diamond on top giving the cake its immense price tag. It stood on display in the department store as a publicity stunt, but did get several offers to purchase it. The cake attracted so many visitors, the department store did it again in 2006 with a chocolate cake covered in 100 diamonds and valued at $850,000.

We can’t think of a single reason to drop nearly $4 million on a dessert made of strawberries and cream, but if you can, then take a trip to New Orleans to visit Arnaud’s. The dessert is part of a proposal package and used to come with a 4.71-karat diamond ring. Then, the dessert only cost a measly $1.4 million. These days, that particular ring is no longer available, forcing Arnaud’s to replace the ring with a 7-karat pink diamond ring. The strawberries are marinated in port, red wine, citrus and a blend of spices. Then, they’re topped with vanilla ice cream. That’s all. Without the ring, the dessert will cost you just under $9. With the ring, the dessert climbs to $3.95 million and comes with a port poured from a $25,000 Charles X crystal cave liqueur set. The owner of the restaurant fully acknowledges the insanity of their signature dessert and has said it is their worst selling item on the menu.

This award winning short was created by filmmaker Bruce Branit, widely known as the co-creator of '405'. World Builder was shot in a single day followed by about 2 years of post production. Branit is the owner of Branit VFX based in Kansas City.

This was filmed between 4th and 11th April 2011. I had the pleasure of visiting El Teide.
Spain´s highest mountain @(3718m) is one of the best places in the world to photograph the stars and is also the location of Teide Observatories, considered to be one of the world´s best observatories.
The goal was to capture the beautiful Milky Way galaxy along with one of the most amazing mountains I know El Teide. I have to say this was one of the most exhausting trips I have done. There was a lot of hiking at high altitudes and probably less than 10 hours of sleep in total for the whole week. Having been here 10-11 times before I had a long list of must-see locations I wanted to capture for this movie, but I am still not 100% used to carrying around so much gear required for time-lapse movies.
A large sandstorm hit the Sahara Desert on the 9th April (http://bit.ly/g3tsDW) and at approx 3am in the night the sandstorm hit me, making it nearly impossible to see the sky with my own eyes.
Interestingly enough my camera was set for a 5 hour sequence of the milky way during this time and I was sure my whole scene was ruined. To my surprise, my camera had managed to capture the sandstorm which was backlit by Grand Canary Island making it look like golden clouds. The Milky Way was shining through the clouds, making the stars sparkle in an interesting way. So if you ever wondered how the Milky Way would look through a Sahara sandstorm, look at 00:32.

Using text adapted from Robert Marshalls "Alaska Wilderness: Exploring the Brooks Range" (1929) and images from Expedition Arguk (2013), "The World Beyond the World" aims to celebrate that most ancient and sublime of human pleasures: moving through a mysterious, beautiful, and unknown landscape.
In 2013, Expedition Arguk walked and packrafted across 300 miles of wilderness in the Alaska Arctic in order to report on Arctic issues and create public-use media from this far-off but increasingly important region. "The World Beyond the World" was shot during the first third of our trip, which took place entirely in Gates of the Arctic National Park and Preserve. Gates of the Arctic is the second-largest US National Park, but its extraordinary remoteness and challenging weather mean that the Park sees relatively few visitors. There are no guidebooks, trails, campgrounds, or roads. Most of the photos that make up this film are available for 100% free, unrestricted public use at www.expeditionarguk.com
Assembled entirely from stills shot with a Nikon D7100 camera, using a Nikon 55-200 VR and a Tokina 11-17 ultrawide lens. Post-production in Photoshop and After Effects, with countless hours on a Wacom Intuos4 tablet.

Spain´s highest mountain @(3718m) is one of the best places in the world to photograph the stars and is also the location of Teide Observatories, considered to be one of the world´s best observatories. #10 Malta
Malta is an archipelago or a group of islands in the Mediterranean Sea. It is located 50 miles south of Italy. The country is 122sq miles which is 10 miles smaller than Las Vegas, Nevada.
Malta is small enough that you may not have realized its importance to world history. Its location has given it great importance as it has been ruled by various leaders such as the Phoenicians, Greeks, Romans, Byzantines, Knights of St. John, and many more.
King George VI even awarded the George Cross to Malta in 1942 for Malta’s great bravery in World War II. This is why the Cross is on Malta’s national flag. It wasn’t until 1964 that Malta gained independence from the United Kingdom and then became a republic in 1974. The official languages of Malta are Maltese and English. Maltese is very unique in that it descends from the Arabic that developed in Sicily between the 9th and 12th century. It evolved independently of Arabic and became Latinised over the years. Its population as 2015 is about 432,000 people.
Malta is a popular destination for tourists mostly for its historical monuments and structures. Its beautiful views and crystal clear water surrounding the island make it a wonderful place to visit. The clear view of the crystal sea surrounding the island is also appealing. Valletta, which is Malta’s number one destination, is the shining star. Its 16th century buildings are in wonderful condition. The shocker? Valletta is hardly 1000ft across. So much to see in such a small area!
#9 Maldives
The Maldives is a South Asian country located in the Arabian Sea. What is so unique about the Maldives is that it’s made up of 26 atolls that spread out over the sea. Because of this, it is one of the most widely dispersed countries in the world. The name Maldives could literally translate into garland or necklace islands.
An atoll is a ring-shaped coral reef that encircles a lagoon partially or completely. There are 26 of these in the Maldives that separate the islands. It isn’t just widely dispersed, but it is also the lowest country in the world as far as elevation goes. Even its highest point is the lowest. The average height is around 5 feet above sea level, and the highest point in the entire nation is just under 8 feet (about 2.4 meters). One of the most highly sought after experiences in the Maldives is their adventure tourism that offers tourists a chance to swim with sharks, manta rays, and other sea creatures.
Islam was adopted in 1153 and the islands were under the Sultan of Ceylon (now Sri Lanka).
While it used to be considered an isolated nation with an authoritarian government, it has now become one of the top luxury travel destinations in the world. Population? About 409,000.
#8 Saint Kitts and Nevis
The Federation of Saint Kitts and Nevis is a two-island country in the West Indies. Again, this country may seem unimportant but it has been called "The Mother Colony of the West Indies" and is in fact the birthplace of Alexander Hamilton.
Nevis was originally called San Martin by Christopher Columbus in 1493.Columbus originally named the island after his patron saint, St.Christopher. It isn’t known who changed the name to St. Kitts and Nevis. Its area is about 269k2 (104 m2)
Currently the population is around 55,500. Tourists are attracted to Saint Kitts and Nevis for its nature. Many believe the combination of the mountainous beauty and majestic sea is beyond is the perfect paradise. From botanical gardens to beautiful beaches, Saint Kitts and Nevis are one of a kind. But their most popular attraction is their national park. Besides natural wonders, this park is full of barracks and other military defenses from centuries ago. The French, Spanish, and the Kalinago people all built barriers and other military structures here and many of them still stand today.
Like many of the surrounding islands, St. Kitts was formed by volcanoes, the tallest thought to have erupted some 200 years ago.

5. Frrrozen Haute Chocolate Ice Cream Sundae
New York is known for being a rich, upscale place. But the city has outdone itself with this dessert from Serendipity 3. This is their Frrrozen Haute Chocolate Ice Cream Sundae--an insanely expensive version of their normal hot chocolate--and it’ll cost you $25,000. The dessert has to be ordered 48 hours in advance because the restaurant has to fly in very specific ingredients to create it including a French chocolate truffle and five grams of 24-karat gold. Also flown in are 14 secret cocoas from Africa and South America. But you’re not just paying for the ice cream, you’re also paying for the privilege to eat it with a solid gold spoon out of r.
4. Tacos
Tacos are maybe the ultimate food. They’re perfect any time of the day and they pack a ton of flavor into a little bite. More often than not, we’re buying them in bulk on Taco Tuesdays just about anywhere, but this taco is a once-in-a-lifetime deal. At $25,000, this is an indulgence the majority of people can’t afford. But, let’s say you do have an extra $25,000 lying around. Head to Grand Velas Los Cabos Resort in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. This taco is not your average iceberg lettuce, cheddar cheese, and ground beef. Oh no. It’s much more than that. The taco is made with Kobe beef, among the most expensive cuts in the world. It’s topped with Almas Beluga caviar (the world’s most expensive at $17,000 per pound) and black truffle brie cheese. And of course, no flour tortillas here. Instead, the corn tortilla is infused with gold leaf. At this price, it has to be delicious, but we’re probably sticking to fast food tacos for now.
3. Faberge (faberzhey) Chocolate Pudding
The original Faberge eggs were Easter eggs created by Carl Faberge for the Russian Imperial family beginning in 1885. Only fifty were ever made and many of them were lost after the revolution of 1917. Real Faberge eggs can sell for tens of millions of dollars, but this dessert crafted by the head chef at Lindeth Howe Country House will only cost you $35,000. The dessert was modeled after a Faberge egg created by Carl’s grandson, Theo, which also sold for $35,000. This edible egg took the title of most expensive dessert from Serendipity 3 in 2011. Lindeth’s chocolate pudding includes champagne caviar, four different Belgian chocolates, and is covered in 24-karat gold leaf and topped with a 2-karat diamond. Because of these difficult ingredients, the dessert has to be ordered three weeks in advance. After spending $35,000 on the dessert and having it arrive in a replica Faberge egg, it’s almost too beautiful to eat and to our knowledge only one person has ever ordered it: Carl Weininger, who needed a pick-me-up after being dumped by his girlfriend.
2. Takashimaya Department Store Christmas Cake
It should come as no surprise that this cake was a one-of-a-kind oddity in 2005. That is, this $1.7 million cake will never be made again. Christmas cakes are popular in Japan and are usually just a simple sponge cake, topped with cream and strawberries. But Takashimaya is changing the game with their version. It’s a hexagonal fruit cake coated in a layer of marzipan. But while most cakes are decorated with buttercream or royal icing, this cake took its decorations from a jewelry store. It was covered in a total of 223 diamonds and a single 5-karat diamond on top giving the cake its immense price tag. It stood on display in the department store as a publicity stunt, but did get several offers to purchase it. The cake attracted so many visitors, the department store did it again in 2006 with a chocolate cake covered in 100 diamonds and valued at $850,000.
1. Strawberries Arnaud
We can’t think of a single reason to drop nearly $4 million on a dessert made of strawberries and cream, but if you can, then take a trip to New Orleans to visit Arnaud’s. The dessert is part of a proposal package and used to come with a 4.71-karat diamond ring. Then, the dessert only cost a measly $1.4 million. These days, that particular ring is no longer available, forcing Arnaud’s to replace the ring with a 7-karat pink diamond ring. The strawberries are marinated in port, red wine, citrus and a blend of spices. Then, they’re topped with vanilla ice cream. That’s all. Without the ring, the dessert will cost you just under $9. With the ring, the dessert climbs to $3.95 million and comes with a port poured from a $25,000 Charles X crystal cave liqueur set. The owner of the restaurant fully acknowledges the insanity of their signature dessert and has said it is their worst selling item on the menu.

More often than not, we’re buying them in bulk on Taco Tuesdays just about anywhere, but this taco is a once-in-a-lifetime deal. At $25,000, this is an indulgence the majority of people can’t afford. But, let’s say you do have an extra $25,000 lying around. Head to Grand Velas Los Cabos Resort in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. This taco is not your average iceberg lettuce, cheddar cheese, and ground beef. Oh no. It’s much more than that. The taco is made with Kobe beef, among the most expensive cuts in the world. It’s topped with Almas Beluga caviar (the world’s most expensive at $17,000 per pound) and black truffle brie cheese. And of course, no flour tortillas here. Instead, the corn tortilla is infused with gold leaf. At this price, it has to be delicious, but we’re probably sticking to fast food tacos for now.
3. Faberge (faberzhey) Chocolate Pudding
The original Faberge eggs were Easter eggs created by Carl Faberge for the Russian Imperial family beginning in 1885. Only fifty were ever made and many of them were lost after the revolution of 1917. Real Faberge eggs can sell for tens of millions of dollars, but this dessert crafted by the head chef at Lindeth Howe Country House will only cost you $35,000. The dessert was modeled after a Faberge egg created by Carl’s grandson, Theo, which also sold for $35,000. This edible egg took the title of most expensive dessert from Serendipity 3 in 2011. Lindeth’s chocolate pudding includes champagne caviar, four different Belgian chocolates, and is covered in 24-karat gold leaf and topped with a 2-karat diamond. Because of these difficult ingredients, the dessert has to be ordered three weeks in advance. After spending $35,000 on the dessert and having it arrive in a replica Faberge egg, it’s almost too beautiful to eat and to our knowledge only one person has ever ordered it: Carl Weininger, who needed a pick-me-up after being dumped by his girlfriend.
2. Takashimaya Department Store Christmas Cake
It should come as no surprise that this cake was a one-of-a-kind oddity in 2005. That is, this $1.7 million cake will never be made again. Christmas cakes are popular in Japan and are usually just a simple sponge cake, topped with cream and strawberries. But Takashimaya is changing the game with their version. It’s a hexagonal fruit cake coated in a layer of marzipan. But while most cakes are decorated with buttercream or royal icing, this cake took its decorations from a jewelry store. It was covered in a total of 223 diamonds and a single 5-karat diamond on top giving the cake its immense price tag. It stood on display in the department store as a publicity stunt, but did get several offers to purchase it. The cake attracted so many visitors, the department store did it again in 2006 with a chocolate cake covered in 100 diamonds and valued at $850,000.
1. Strawberries Arnaud
We can’t think of a single reason to drop nearly $4 million on a dessert made of strawberries and cream, but if you can, then take a trip to New Orleans to visit Arnaud’s. The dessert is part of a proposal package and used to come with a 4.71-karat diamond ring. Then, the dessert only cost a measly $1.4 million. These days, that particular ring is no longer available, forcing Arnaud’s to replace the ring with a 7-karat pink diamond ring. The strawberries are marinated in port, red wine, citrus and a blend of spices. Then, they’re topped with vanilla ice cream. That’s all. Without the ring, the dessert will cost you just under $9. With the ring, the dessert climbs to $3.95 million and comes with a port poured from a $25,000 Charles X crystal cave liqueur set. The owner of the restaurant fully acknowledges the insanity of their signature dessert and has said it is their worst selling item on the menu.

This was filmed between 4th and 11th April 2011. I had the pleasure of visiting El Teide.
Spain´s highest mountain @(3718m) is one of the best places in the world to photograph the stars and is also the location of Teide Observatories, considered to be one of the world´s best observatories.
The goal was to capture the beautiful Milky Way galaxy along with one of the most amazing mountains I know El Teide. I have to say this was one of the most exhausting trips I have done. There was a lot of hiking at high altitudes and probably less than 10 hours of sleep in total for the whole week. Having been here 10-11 times before I had a long list of must-see locations I wanted to capture for this movie, but I am still not 100% used to carrying around so much gear required for time-lapse movies.
A large sandstorm hit the Sahara Desert on the 9th April (http://bit.ly/g3tsDW) and at approx 3am in the night the sandstorm hit me, making it nearly impossible to see the sky with my own eyes.
Interestingly enough my camera was set for a 5 hour sequence of the milky way during this time and I was sure my whole scene was ruined. To my surprise, my camera had managed to capture the sandstorm which was backlit by Grand Canary Island making it look like golden clouds. The Milky Way was shining through the clouds, making the stars sparkle in an interesting way. So if you ever wondered how the Milky Way would look through a Sahara sandstorm, look at 00:32.

Using text adapted from Robert Marshalls "Alaska Wilderness: Exploring the Brooks Range" (1929) and images from Expedition Arguk (2013), "The World Beyond the World" aims to celebrate that most ancient and sublime of human pleasures: moving through a mysterious, beautiful, and unknown landscape.
In 2013, Expedition Arguk walked and packrafted across 300 miles of wilderness in the Alaska Arctic in order to report on Arctic issues and create public-use media from this far-off but increasingly important region. "The World Beyond the World" was shot during the first third of our trip, which took place entirely in Gates of the Arctic National Park and Preserve. Gates of the Arctic is the second-largest US National Park, but its extraordinary remoteness and challenging weather mean that the Park sees relatively few visitors. There are no guidebooks, trails, campgrounds, or roads. Most of the photos that make up this film are available for 100% free, unrestricted public use at www.expeditionarguk.com
Assembled entirely from stills shot with a Nikon D7100 camera, using a Nikon 55-200 VR and a Tokina 11-17 ultrawide lens. Post-production in Photoshop and After Effects, with countless hours on a Wacom Intuos4 tablet.
