The Olympus OM-D series is a series of Micro Four Thirds digital mirrorless system cameras by Olympus Corporation, encompassing the following models:
The Olympus OM-D E-M5 Mark II is a digital interchangeable-lens camera announced in February 2015. It features a new 40-megapixel high-resolution mode that uses subpixel sensor movement to generate overlapping 16-megapixel images to then compute a 40-megapixel composite. It is the successor of the Olympus OM-D E-M5. Compared to that earlier model from 2012 and flagship OM-D E-M1 released in 2013, both of which are claimed to have 4 f-stops of shake compensation when shooting handheld, Olympus claims the OM-D E-M5 II can compensate 5 f-stops.
The Olympus OM-D E-M5, announced in February 2012, is a Micro Four Thirds compact mirrorless interchangeable lens camera. In style and name it references the Olympus OM series of film SLR cameras, but it is not an SLR camera (there is no optical path from lens to viewfinder: a high quality electronic viewfinder is used). The successor is the Olympus OM-D E-M5 Mark II.
In April 2012, the enthusiast photography web site Digital Photography Review (DP Review) awarded the OM-D EM-5 a Gold Award. On the same website it was subsequently voted Best Camera of 2012 in a photographers' poll.
Other photography news and reviews websites that awarded the OM-D EM-5 "Camera of the Year" for 2012 were photographyblog.com and wirefresh. The camera also won a 2012 Pop Photo award from the magazine Popular Photography.

But that aside, the EM-5 mark ii is a great all around performer that would...
We are trying something new here, instead of cramming all of the details of the camera into the main review, we are going to keep those short and sweet and follow them up with a more in depth discussion. Jay, Josh, and our newest host, Alison go over the good and bad of the EM5 Mark II. It's now since one week that I own the upcoming new anamorphic lens from SLR Magic, the anamorphot 1.33X - 50. It's a compact and light 1.33X anamorphic lens, working from 40mm on full frame and 20mm on M43 systems. It has the particularity of having a focus ring for close focus, it's very convenient because you can use it without diopters. Another difference seems to be the usuability of shooting at fast apertures. I even did a fast test at T0.95 on the SLR Magic 25mm and the image was still usable ! More tests to come. I've used two cameras with two different lenses on this movie : http://www.flickr.com/photos/43243778@N04/sets/72157640826690735/ First the OM-D OM-5 from Olympus. Despite it's not so good video codec, this camera has what the other cameras don't have (yet) : an incredib...
A short film shot on the new Olympus OM-D E-M5 Mark II camera. The film was shot using two cameras and the following Olympus M.Zuiko lenses: 9mm f8 (Body Cap Lens), 12mm f2, 12-40mm f2.8PRO, 25mm f1.8, 45mm f1.8 and 75mm f1.8. Ambient audio was recorded on camera using a Rode Stereo VideoMic X. Audio was also recorded using an Olympus LS-100 with it's internal microphones for ambient sounds and also hooked up to a Rode NTG3 for other atmospheric recordings. A Rode Lavalier microphone was used for for the interviews, attached to the Olymps LS-100. The majority of shots were hand held, using the camera's built in stabilisation system to keep the shots steady. For the shots where the camera was attached to the taxi, a Delkin Fat Gheko camera mount was used. A Manfrotto tripod and video monopo...

Watch the making of "The Irrational Fear of Nothing" shot with the Olympus OM-D E-M5 Mark II, a small camera that goes a long way to creating this mind-boggling short film. See how technique (and a snorricam rig) can inform story, and how story can in turn inform the technique.
In this behind-the-scenes video, see how filmmakers used the compact, fast, and rugged Olympus OM-D E-M5 Mark II to create the compelling and seamless visual perspective of “There and Back: Colombia.”
This movie has been shoot a week-end mid october in Bordeaux, and first week-end of november in the countryside. I'm glad to have now I think the perfect anamorphic set combination for my baby Hypergonar anamorphic lens. I bought few weeks ago a used Qioptiq C-mount lens, usually used in industry. This lens is very sharp, even at it's fastest aperture (f1.6) and this wide aperture is still usable with the anamorphic on it ! Some of the shot of the movie had been taken at f1.6. Here is the first part of this pocket anamorphic set : https://vimeo.com/77265744 And here is a movie taken with this lens alone : vimeo.com/75065010 and the Filick'r album : flickr.com/photos/43243778@N04/sets/72157636631334626/ It was not possible to screw directly the anamorphic lens on the Qioptiq prime lens bec...
It's been three years since Olympus revived the OM brand with the original OM-D E-M5. Are various subtle refinements and one knock-out new feature enough to give the EM-5 II a sufficient lead over its predecessor? This film was shot on the Olympus OM-D E-M5 Mark II completely handheld. Earlier this year I was asked to join a group of eight talented photographers and filmmakers from all around Scandinavia to join a epic trip to Swiss Alps. Mission was to put a new Olympus OM-D E-M5 Mark II and it's 5-axis internal stabilizer to a ultimate test. I let the video speak itself. I need to get back there. -- Follow eight photographers from Scandinavia as they go explore Switzerland with the new Olympus OM-D E-M5 Mark II.
