Christopher Hill may refer to:
A hill is a landform that extends above the surrounding terrain. It often has a distinct summit, although in areas with scarp/dip topography a hill may refer to a particular section of flat terrain without a massive summit (e.g. Box Hill, Surrey).
The distinction between a hill and a mountain is unclear and largely subjective, but a hill is universally considered to be less tall and less steep than a mountain. In the United Kingdom, geographers historically regarded mountains as hills greater than 1,000 feet (300 m) above sea level, which formed the basis of the plot of the 1995 film The Englishman Who Went Up a Hill But Came Down a Mountain. In contrast, hillwalkers have tended to regard mountains as peaks 2,000 feet (610 m) above sea level: the Oxford English Dictionary also suggests a limit of 2,000 feet (610 m) and Whittow states "Some authorities regard eminences above 600 m (2,000 ft) as mountains, those below being referred to as hills." The Great Soviet Encyclopedia defines hill as an upland with a relative height up to 200 m (660 ft).
Christopher is the English version of a Europe-wide name derived from the Greek name Χριστόφορος (Christóforos). The constituent parts are Χριστός (Christós), "Christ" or "Anointed", and φέρειν (férein), "bear": the "Christ-bearer". It is related to the names Chris meaning "Anointed" and Christian meaning "follower of Christ" or "little Christ" (all from Greek.)
As a given, or first name, Christopher has been in use since the 10th century. In English, Christopher may be abbreviated as "Chris", and sometimes "Kit". Another less common abbreviation "Topher" or "Toph", has come into wider use in the U.S.
It was frequently the most popular male first name in the United Kingdom, having been in the top twenty in England and Wales from the 1940s until 1995, although it has since dropped out of the top 100. The name is most common in England and not so common in Wales, Scotland, or Ireland.
In geology, fault line or faultline refers to the surface trace of a fault.

We understand history differently by looking at the past from another perspective. For a more complete view of the seventeenth century English Civil Wars, we need to examine the overlooked impact of grassroots ideologies in the conflict, rather than simply focusing on political elites. Watch Macat’s short video for a great introduction to Christopher Hill’s The World Turned Upside Down, one of the most important history books ever written. Macat’s videos give you an overview of the ideas you should know, explained in a way that helps you think smarter. Through exploration of the humanities, we learn how to think critically and creatively, to reason, and to ask the right questions. Critical thinking is about to become one of the most in-demand set of skills in the global jobs market.* Ar...

The world's attention has shifted to Afghanistan. Barack Obama, the US president, calls it the "Good War", so what does that say about Iraq? A string of recent deadly bombings has reminded the world that Iraq is still very much a war zone. Elections are coming in January, after which the US says it is going to speed up its withdrawal. Yet without any hint of irony, the US accuses Iran of "foreign interference". On this episode Fault Lines Josh Rushing talks to Christopher Hill, the US ambassador to Iraq, about these issues, and ask if America is finally ready to apologize for the devastating human costs of the war.
