Germany (/ˈdʒɜːrməni/; German: Deutschland [ˈdɔʏtʃlant]), officially the Federal Republic of Germany (German: Bundesrepublik Deutschland, listen ), is a federal parliamentary republic in West-Central Europe. It includes 16 constituent states and covers an area of 357,021 square kilometres (137,847 sq mi) with a largely temperate seasonal climate. Its capital and largest city is Berlin. With about 81.5 million inhabitants, Germany is the most populous member state in the European Union. After the United States, it is the second most popular migration destination in the world.
Various Germanic tribes have occupied northern Germany since classical antiquity. A region named Germania was documented before 100 AD. During the Migration Period the Germanic tribes expanded southward. Beginning in the 10th century, German territories formed a central part of the Holy Roman Empire. During the 16th century, northern German regions became the centre of the Protestant Reformation.
Münster (German pronunciation: [ˈmʏnstɐ]; Low German: Mönster; Latin: Monasterium, from the Greek μοναστήριον monastērion, "monastery") is an independent city in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It is in the northern part of the state and is considered to be the cultural centre of the Westphalia region. It is also capital of the local government region Münsterland. Münster was the location of the Anabaptist rebellion during the Protestant Reformation and the site of the signing of the Treaty of Westphalia ending the Thirty Years' War in 1648. Today it is known as the bicycle capital of Germany.
Münster gained the status of a Großstadt (major city) with more than 100,000 inhabitants in 1915. Currently there are 300,000 people living in the city, with about 55,500 students, only some of whom are recorded in the official population statistics as having their primary residence in Münster.
In 793, Charlemagne sent out Ludger as a missionary to evangelise the Münsterland. In 797, Ludger founded a school that later became the Cathedral School.Gymnasium Paulinum traces its history back to the school. Ludger was ordained as the first bishop of Münster. The first cathedral was completed by 850. The combination of ford and crossroad, market place, episcopal administrative centre, library and school, established Münster as an important centre. In 1040, Heinrich III became the first king of Germany to visit Münster.
This is a travel blog focusing on showing the wonders of both nature and mankind. This time I am visiting a german friend.

Hi You Tubers and Friends, A short video of my visit to Germany when I stayed with my school friend Mark Titley and his German wife Michaela. Mark and I were at Edinburgh School together in Munster between 1971 - 1973. The visit included a visit to Munsters Cathedrial, the Mohne Reservoir Dam and the Sorpesee both of which was blown up by 617 Sqdn led by Guy Gibson on the famous Dams raid. (the Sorpesee was only damaged as its a earth Dam). The video also features the house on the banks of the Sorpesee which I visited owned by the Bettermenn family. Special thanks for Mark and Michaela for hosting my visit and making me so welcome. Enjoy and warm regards Richard Please Note: The photos and music used in this video do not belong to me and are the copyright of their respecti...

http://bookinghunter.com Berlin is the capital city of Germany and one of the 16 states of Germany. Berlin is situated in northeastern Germany. The most important places to visit in Berlin are: Checkpoint Charlie (its name was given for the Berlin Wall crossing point between East and West Berlin during the Cold War), Berlin city hall (built in Italian Renaissance style, its construction lasted from 1861 to 1869. Along with the State Government of Berlin it is also the office of the city's Governing Mayor), The Potsdam Castle (located about 15 miles outside of Berlin, the castle is a gorgeous masterpiece nestled amidst vineyards. This lovely structure is so exquisite that it is often regarded as the German equivalent of The Palace of Versailles), Reichstag (the seat of German Parliament. Bu...

Travel video about destination Germany. Germany is situated in the middle of Europe and is a land of diverse culture and tradition, from Bavarian homeliness in the south, and mediaeval splendour within its centre, to its flourishing lifestyle in the east and large commercial cities in the north, it is a country which extends from the Alps to the North Sea. The episcopal city of Passau nestles between hills at the confluence of the Danube, Inn and Ilz. High above the rivers and strategically perched on a rock is the castle complex of Veste Oberhaus, imposing and impregnable. The salt trade enriched the town and Italian baroque masters were allowed to create the cityscape of the historic old town. Beginning in Würzburg On The Main, the Romantic Road leads to various well known historic cit...

Bavaria is the largest German territory. Its typical atmosphere is given by little towns and villages. Wooden shells, high red tiled roofs with many little skylights, old signboards, town walls, ancient churches, domes and steeples, narrow streets and riverbanks, huge green areas and many flowers take us to a wonderfully calm and merry world. Beside the well known Octoberfest holder Munich and the medieval older town look keeper Nuremberg, Regensburg and Augsburg there are castles like the romantic Neuschwanstein that are waiting for the traveller. There are glittering lakes in the green pinewood like the Königssee and the Chiemsee, and mountaintops like the snow-capped Zugspitze. Though Bavaria is only one territory within the German territories everyone can feel it is quite different fro...

License Video: dissolve.com/products?media_type=video&producer;=Pete+R&sort;_by_date=true Last month, I went to Germany alone. I entered the country as lonely as a solo traveler could be. I ate alone, drank alone, and walked alone. But along the way, I met people, made new friends and rekindled old ones. By the time I left the country, I was no longer alone. I had the opportunity to be hosted by several German friends around the country, I partied with them, drink with them, and hung out with them. I experienced the alternative culture in Berlin. I lost my bag in Cologne (http://blog.bucketlistly.com/post/132467427542/bag-stolen-germany-cologne). I celebrated my Birthday with a Pool match and a rap battle concert in Dresden. It was a hell of a ride. As the saying goes, "Happiness is onl...

For a long time Berlin lacked the wealth and stability of other capital cities so ingenuity prevailed. Berlin, the capital of Germany, lies on the banks of the River Spree. The city has an eclectic mix of architectural styles; everything from the modern dome of the Reichstag to that of the old Berlin Cathedral. The Chapel of Reconciliation is the spiritual heart of the Berlin Wall Memorial. The DDR Museum shows what life was like in East Germany during Socialist rule. Checkpoint Charlie was the Cold War's most famous border crossing; today the adjacent museum describes the clever ways in which Berliners defected from East to West. Berlin's East Side Gallery is one of the largest outdoor art exhibits in the world. The Holocaust Memorial serves as a poignant reminder of World War II. Rolling out before the Brandenburg Gate are the lawns and canals of the Tiergarten. Highlight here inclu...
