Staff member at Lanyon Vikings Club shot with nail gun during weekend robbery

A Lanyon Vikings Club staff member was shot in the leg with a nail gun during a robbery on Sunday, June 11.

Police said two men in balaclavas entered the Conder-based club about 11.10pm, armed with a nail gun and a knife, before demanding cash.

The staff complied but as the men left the club on foot, one of the men fired the nail gun at staff and patrons.

The injured staff member was taken to Canberra Hospital with minor injuries.

The two men were wearing dark clothing, gloves and balaclavas.

ACT police urged anyone who saw two men acting suspiciously near the club about 11pm Sunday, June 11 or anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or via the ACT Crime Stoppers website.
