Charles Martin "Chuck" Jones (September 21, 1912 – February 22, 2002) was an American animator, cartoon artist, screenwriter, producer, and director of animated films, most memorably of Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies shorts for the Warner Bros. Cartoons studio. He directed many classic animated cartoon shorts starring Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, the Road Runner and Wile E. Coyote, Pepé Le Pew, Porky Pig and a slew of other Warner characters.
After his career at Warner Bros. ended in 1962, Jones started Sib Tower 12 Productions, and began producing cartoons for Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, including a new series of Tom and Jerry shorts and the television adaptation of Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas!. He later started his own studio, Chuck Jones Enterprises, which created several one-shot specials, and periodically worked on Looney Tunes related works.
Jones was nominated for an Academy Award eight times and won three times, receiving awards for the cartoons For Scent-imental Reasons, So Much for So Little, and The Dot and the Line. He received an Honorary Academy Award in 1996 for his work in the animation industry. Film historian Leonard Maltin has praised Jones' work at Warner Bros., MGM and Chuck Jones Enterprises. He also said that the "feud" that there may have been between Jones and colleague Bob Clampett was mainly because they were so different from each other. In Jerry Beck's The 50 Greatest Cartoons, ten of the entries were directed by Jones, with four out of the five top cartoons being Jones shorts.

So Much for So Little is a 1949 American short documentary film directed by Chuck Jones. It won an Academy Award in 1950 for Documentary Short Subject, tying with A Chance to Live. As a work of the United States Government, the film is in the public domain. ---- The cartoon states that, annually, 118,481 babies out of 2 million will die before reaching their first birthday. Thus, the cartoon shows John E. Jones, a baby that may add to this statistic if not given proper healthcare. The cartoon proceeds to show most of John's life, including his school years, marriage, later life (as a father), and his golden years, providing other helpful health information along the way. O-Solar-Meow is a 1967 cartoon featuring Tom and Jerry. It was the first of three outer space-related shorts to be released in the Chuck Jones era (though the second of the three to be produced, according to the MPAA code seen in the opening credits). Also according to the MPAA code and not episode number, this Tom and Jerry cartoon is the last one to feature music from Eugene Poddany (both regarding in its entirety, and regarding the Sib Tower 12/Chuck Jones Tom and Jerry cartoons). The cartoon was produced by Chuck Jones and directed by Abe Levitow.

This animation was produced in 1975, based on a book by Rudyard Kipling called The White Seal. The cartoon was designed and directed by Chuck Jones, the same one who has done several episodes of Tom & Jerry. The cartoon tells the story of Kotick, a seal that was born white, different from the other seals in his region. In the course of its growth, it witnesses the suffering and persecution that those of its kind face due to the hunting of human beings. Undeterred by the situation, which lasted several years, Kotick sets out to find a place where all seals can live free of their greatest enemy, man. The 20th anniversary of 'Space Jam,' a movie that millennials love, even though it has nothing to do with basketball or the Looney Tunes, has come and gone. Good. After having spent the first part of this review going over the story of the movie and critiquing that, Trevor now shows, through analysis and cartoon history, how Space Jam, a movie based on a commercial (based on two legacies, that of Michael Jordan and the Looney Tunes), was the original movie to ruin childhood. He also tells a personal story about meeting Chuck Jones, a director of many of the original cartoons, shortly after Space Jam came out, and how Warner Bros. disrespected him publicly at a dinner on the lot for the movie. Of course you realize, this means review! --- Like Ferris Wheelhouse on Facebook: https://www...

Chuck Jones will tell the story of how he seized an opportunity on a labyrinthine journey—chasing markets into dark alleys, dipping into commodities and wrestling with shrinking margins—on the way to fulfilling his legacy in coffee. Chuck was born with the entrepreneurial spirit in his veins. As a kid, the lemon tree that hung heavy with fruit in his neighbors' yard was chock full of opportunities. He stamped the lemons with a happy face and sold them to the local market under the brand: "Like Sunkist." He also made fresh lemonade for his weekly lemonade stand, cornering the market at El Molino and Wilson in San Marino from 1979-1984. Making something from nothing was the creative challenge he enjoyed. Hisadventures continued, fraught with successes and failures. During his final year in...

Part of the Stanley Awards publicity whirlwind that erupted when Chuck Jones came to town as our guest, which included interviews with almost every radio station and newspaper in Sydney, as well as TV programmes "Today", "Review" and this one, "7:30 Report", hosted by Quentin Dempster, broadcast on 11th September, 1992. At the time, the ACA had a strong relationship with the Hotel Inter.Continental Sydney, and I thought the inhouse pasta restaurant, Sketches, would be the perfect venue for a press conference (footage of which can be seen in the story). Colin Kaye, from the Silver K Gallery in Victoria, mounted a display of Chuck's animation art upstairs in the Hotel, so you can also see footage of that show as Chuck and I saunter past it. The only negative aspect to this interview was t...
