C minor (abbreviated c or Cm) is a minor scale based on C, consisting of the pitches C, D, E♭, F, G, A♭, and B♭. The harmonic minor raises the B♭ to B♮. Changes needed for the melodic and harmonic versions of the scale are written in with naturals and accidentals as necessary.
Its key signature consists of three flats. Its relative major is E-flat major, and its parallel major is C major.
In the Baroque period, music in C minor was usually written with a two-flat key signature, and some modern editions of that repertoire retain that convention.
Of the two piano concertos that Mozart wrote in a minor key, one of them (No. 24, K. 491) is in C minor.
C minor has been associated with heroic struggle since Beethoven's time. Beethoven wrote some of his most characteristic works in the key of C minor, including the Symphony No. 5 and no fewer than three piano sonatas. (See Beethoven and C minor.)
Brahms's first symphony and first string quartet were composed in C minor; these were both genres with which Beethoven was closely associated during Brahms's lifetime.
Robin Schulz (born 28 April 1987) is a German DJ and producer. Most of his songs make use of electric guitar riffs. On 4 February, 2014, he released the first single from his debut album, a remix of "Waves" by Dutch hip hop artist Mr Probz. This remix later received a nomination for Best Remixed Recording, Non-Classical at the 57th Annual Grammy Awards. His follow-up single, released 6 June, 2014, was a remix of the Lilly Wood and the Prick track "Prayer in C" from their 2010 album Invincible Friends. Both remixes have charted in many European countries and the United States, leading to international recognition for Schulz. He co-founded Lausbuben Records with Daniel Bruns and Christopher Noble. His references in electronic music are Todd Terry, Armand Van Helden, Roger Sanchez, Tiësto and the Epic Sax Guy.
Lilly Wood and the Prick (also known as Lilly Wood and LILLYWOOD) is a French alternative rock, pop and folk duo composed of Nili Hadida and Benjamin Cotto. They are best known for their single "Prayer in C", which was remixed and released as a single in 2014 by German DJ and producer Robin Schulz; the song has topped the charts in Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Israel, Lebanon, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.
The duo was formed in 2006 when they met in a Parisian café and decided to collaborate on writing songs together.
After collaborating on a number of songs. In 2008 they made a cover of "L.E.S. Artistes" from Santogold. They also met guitarist Pierre Guimard who heard their songs on Myspace and offered to work with them and opened his studio for production of their work. 2008 saw release of their track on a compilation entitled Folk & Proud followed by in 2009 the EP of the duo Lilly Who and the What? referring to the stage name of the duo. It was released on Choke Industry independent label founded by Pierre Guimard and by Matthieu Tessier, the duo's manager. After 2009, they signed with another independent label called Cinq7.
A piano concerto is a concerto written for a piano accompanied by an orchestra or other large ensemble.
Keyboard concerti were common in the time of Johann Sebastian Bach. Occasionally, Bach's harpsichord concerti are played on piano.
In the 17th and 18th centuries, typical concertos for keyboard were organ concertos and harpsichord concertos, such as those written by George Friedrich Handel and Johann Sebastian Bach.
As the piano developed and became accepted, composers naturally started writing concerti for it. This happened in the late 18th century, during the Classical music era. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was the most important composer in the early development of the form. Mozart's body of masterly piano concerti put his stamp firmly on the genre well into the Romantic era.
Mozart wrote many piano concertos for himself to perform (his 27 piano concertos also include concerti for two and three pianos). With the rise of the piano virtuoso, many composer-pianists did likewise, notably Ludwig van Beethoven, Frédéric Chopin, and Robert Schumann—and also lesser-known musicians like Johann Nepomuk Hummel, Joseph Wölfl, Carl Maria von Weber, John Field, Ferdinand Ries, and F. X. Mozart.
"Prayer in C" is a song by French-Israeli folk pop duo Lilly Wood and the Prick, originally released on their album Invincible Friends in 2010. German DJ and producer Robin Schulz remixed the song, and in June 2014, he released it as a single. Schulz re-mixed the song, using a CD of Invincible Friends as the source. He initially made his remix available as a free download, to the consternation of the copyright owners, Wagram Music.
The Schulz remix topped the charts in Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Luxembourg, France, the Netherlands, Belgium (both Flanders and Wallonia regions), Greece, Italy, Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Croatia, Denmark, Finland, Norway, Sweden, Portugal, Spain, Ireland, and the United Kingdom. This track also reached the top 10 in Australia and New Zealand and charted in the top 40 in Canada and United States. In September 2014, Kiesza covered the song on BBC Radio 1's Live Lounge.

I also should note that this is my favorite version of this Piano Concerto, as the intro is slightly "better paced" then other versions, where I believe it to be played too quickly, not savoring the notes enough. A beautifully meditative account with fairly drastic tempo fluctuations and a particularly heartbreaking third section (4:29) -- listen all the way through. Contrast to the relative fieriness of the Rubinstein recording.

32 Variations in C minor WoO. 80 composed in 1806 by Ludwig van Beethoven and performed by the italian pianist Alessio Nanni. The work consists of an eight-bar main theme and 32 different variations. A chord progression in the left hand, based upon a descending chromatic bass, serves as an important structural device. The short and sparsely melodic theme, as well as the emphasis on the bass line, reflect a possible influence of the chaconne. The variations differ in character, technical difficulty and dynamics. SYNAESTHESIA Video Release of the first ever Rachmaninov piano & visual performance. A new and experimental project all around the new-media visual performance in real time applied to the classical music repertoire. Kandinsky once said: "Color is the keyboard, the eyes are the harmonies, the soul is the piano with many strings. The artist is the hand that plays, touching one key or another, to cause vibrations in the soul". The concept that color and musical harmony are linked has a long history, intriguing scientists such as Sir Isaac Newton. Kandinsky used color in a highly theoretical way associating tone with timbre (the sound's character), hue with pitch, and saturation with the volume of sound. He even claimed that when he saw color he heard music. Starting from this suggestion...
Little known but highly acclaimed composer/performer Darnell Spotswood III hails from the completely obscure but classically renowned Yorkshire Spotswood Clan. Having already claimed the inter-county chromatic harmonica trophy at age nine, young master Spotswood decided to branch out into Symphony writing, amid sporadic stints of grocery delivery work. This, one of his early and most revered compositions, plays in the space between memory and chiaroscuro, creating an effigy of classical paradigms which it then proceeds to burn with a cognizant ennui. Boat Safety Films tags along.

Now I know
Where you go,
What you do,
When you're away from me
Who he is,
What's his name,
Where he lives,
All your aims
But no longer
Will I play
Your foolish games
You took my heart
And you tore it into too many pieces
But I've put it all together again
There's a fire down in me
That burns, oh, so bright
With the longing, with the yearning to be free
I won't cry, I won't cry
No I won't waste my tears
I'll get by
I'll survive
Without you
Without you
(piano solo)
I gave you the stars
I gave you the moon and my heart
But you take them all and threw them all away
I don't want you, I don't need you
I will survive
I've got strength enough down inside for two
When you leave, when you leave
Just look the other way
I won't waste my breath my tears
There's nothing to say
There's a fire down in me
That burns, oh, so bright
With the longing, with the yearning to be free
I won't cry, I won't cry
No I won't waste my tears
I'll get by
I'll survive
Without you
Without you
(violin solo)
Just go, just go, just go
There's a fire down in me
That's burning, oh, so bright
With the longing, with the yearning to be free
I won't cry, I won't cry
No I won't waste my tears
I'll get by
I'll survive
Without you
