The B♭ (B-flat) major scale consists of the pitches B♭, C, D, E♭, F, G, and A. Its key signature has two flats.
Its relative minor is G minor, and its parallel minor is B♭ minor.
Many transposing instruments are pitched in B-flat major, including the clarinet, trumpet, tenor saxophone, and soprano saxophone. As a result, B-flat major is a popular key for concert band compositions.
Joseph Haydn's Symphony No. 98 is credited as the first symphony he (or anyone else) wrote in that key in which he included trumpet and timpani parts. Actually, his brother Michael Haydn had written one such symphony earlier, No. 36, though Joseph Haydn still gets credit for writing the timpani part at actual pitch with an F major key signature (instead of transposing with a C major key signature), a procedure that made sense since he limited that instrument to the tonic and dominant pitches. Many editions of the work, however, use no key signature and specify the instrument as "Timpani in B-flat–F".
B-flat or B♭ may refer to:
D minor is a minor scale based on D, consisting of the pitches D, E, F, G, A, B♭, and C. In the harmonic minor, the C is raised to C♯. Its key signature has one flat (see below: Scales and keys).
Its relative major is F major, and its parallel major is D major. D minor is one of the two flat-signature keys whose melodic and harmonic scale variations require the addition of a written sharp; the other is G minor.
Of Domenico Scarlatti's 555 keyboard sonatas, 151 are in minor keys, and with 32 sonatas, D minor is the most often chosen minor key. Nigel Tufnel, one of the members of the musical spoof megagroup Spinal Tap speaks of "a musical trilogy I'm working on in D minor which is the saddest of all keys, I find. People weep instantly when they hear it, and I don't know why."
J. S. Bach's entire The Art of Fugue is in D minor. According to Alfred Einstein, the history of tuning has led D minor to be associated with counterpoint and chromaticism (for example, the chromatic fourth), and cites Mozart's chromatic fugue in D minor. Mozart's Requiem is also written primarily in D minor, as is the aria "Der Hölle Rache". Of the two piano concertos that Mozart wrote in a minor key, one of them is in D minor, No. 20, K. 466. Sibelius's Violin Concerto is in D minor, as is Schumann's. The tonality of D minor held special significance for Helene and Alban Berg.
Major is a military rank of commissioned officer, with corresponding ranks existing in many military forces. When used unhyphenated, in conjunction with no other indicators, the rank is just senior to that of an army captain and right below the rank of lieutenant colonel. It is considered the most junior of the field officer ranks.
Majors are typically assigned as specialized executive or operations officers for battalion-sized units of 300 to 1,200 soldiers. In some militaries, notably France and Ireland, the rank of major is referred to as commandant, while in others it is known as captain-major. It is also used in some police forces and other paramilitary rank structures, such as the New York State Police, New Jersey State Police and several others. As a police rank, Major roughly corresponds to the UK rank of Superintendent.
When used in hyphenated or combined fashion, the term can also imply seniority at other levels of rank, including general-major or major general, denoting a mid-level general officer, and sergeant major, denoting the most senior NCO of a military unit. The term Major can also be used with a hyphen to denote the leader of a military band such as in pipe-major or drum-major.
The major scale or Ionian scale is one of the most commonly used musical scales, especially in Western music. It is one of the diatonic scales. Like many musical scales it is made up of seven notes: the eighth duplicates the first at double its frequency so that it is called a higher octave of the same note (from Latin "octavus", the eighth).
The simplest major scale to write is C major, the only major scale not to require sharps or flats:
The major scale had a central importance in European music, particularly in the common practice period and in popular music, owing to the large number of chords that can be formed from it. In Hindustani classical music it is known as Bilaval.
A major scale is a diatonic scale. The sequence of intervals between the notes of a major scale is:
where "whole" stands for a whole tone (a red u-shaped curve in the figure), and "half" stands for a semitone (a red broken line in the figure).
A major scale may be seen as two identical tetrachords separated by a whole tone. Each tetrachord consists of two whole tones followed by a semitone:

Mozart's serenade No. 10 "Gran Partita" written for 13 wind instruments. This is the third movement.
Everyone – quite reasonably – lauds the Richter account of this profound and groundbreaking work, but it turns out Schubert had some ideas of his own about how this sonata to be played, and this breathtaking account by Kovacevich comes as close to definitive as I can imagine. He plays a genuine pianissimo and molto moderato, and his interpretation contains a sense of unease and urgency that is hugely compelling. There is no slouch toward profundity, no gesture of unnecessary sophistication. Instead there is a consistent variety of articulation -- warmth [23:22], sadness, violence, tranquility -- all as the work demands it. Schubert’s final sonata is famed for its sense of inner stillness, but often that’s just a function of tempo – there’s a lot of compulsion and vigour in it, as Kovacevi...

A lovely suite by Handel, showcasing well his ability to write music of extraordinary energy and robustness. First is a prelude, full of freedom and breath, then a propulsive sonata, then a set of variations on a charming aria (also the subject of Brahms' famous Op.24 variations), and a meltingly lyrical menuetto. Schiff plays the suite with a sumptuous, rich touch, clarity, and beautifully executed ornaments. 00:00 -- Prelude 01:47 -- Sonata 03:18 -- Aria and Variations (Brahms' set of variations on the Aria can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q9tbCkACbGU) 06:52 -- Menuetto

I. Lent-Allegro vivo II. Très Lent III. Animé The first movement follows a personal adaptation of sonata-form, dividing the development section into several sections, with a highly dramatic slow introduction, introducing the solemn main theme of the symphony. It slowly builds to an anguished climax only to be followed by a very swift and light-hearted allegro vivo in the key of B-flat major. The second subject is more relaxed and harmonised in chromati...

I want to know the place
Where you come from
I like to see your face when I wake up
I offer me just for yourself
Wrapped up for you and no one else
And no one else
Could be appreciative
Be as appreciative of your charm
When you walk you take you take your time
Take the tiniest steps
When I'm at your side if you feel
You're left behind
I'll slow down to your pace
And we'll be like a tree
And we'll grow on
And if the world should end
With fires and bombs
I'd like to be there holding hands
With you I'll view the end of the lands
And no one else could steal a piece
Like you could steal a piece that big
Of my heart
I want to be with you
And we will be together
I want to be with you
