With great friends to explore with, Manipur was so much fun and this day was just as awesome as Day 59. The valley around Imphal has plenty to offer, local fruit fermented drinks, snail pakoda, lotus pods, and beautiful waterfalls. This quaint little beautiful city, finds its abode in the basin of Manipur River. The city is encircled by hills that protect it from almost every direction. Worst roads we've ever been in on, and longest trip ever for shortest distance, but so worth it! From Agartala, Tripura to Imphal, Manipur is about 400 kilometers, but it took us 4 full days to get there, because of A) a slow train, B) 5:30 am only departure time sumos from Silchar, Assam that we missed, C) a strike in Manipur, forcing a stop to all travel, and finally D) the worst roads we've ever seen because of monsoon rains.
