The Blues Brothers (film)
The Blues Brothers is a 1980 American musical crime comedy film directed by John Landis. It stars John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd as "Joliet" Jake and Elwood Blues, characters developed from "The Blues Brothers" musical sketch on the NBC variety series Saturday Night Live. The film's screenplay was written by Aykroyd and Landis.
It features musical numbers by rhythm and blues (R&B), soul, and blues singers James Brown, Cab Calloway, Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles, and John Lee Hooker. The film is set in and around Chicago, Illinois, where it was filmed. It features non-musical supporting performances by John Candy, Carrie Fisher, Charles Napier, and Henry Gibson.
The story is a tale of redemption for paroled convict Jake and his brother Elwood, who take on "a mission from God" to save from foreclosure the Catholic orphanage in which they grew up. To do so, they must reunite their R&B band and organize a performance to earn $5,000 needed to pay the orphanage's property tax bill. Along the way, they are targeted by a destructive "mystery woman", Neo-Nazis, and a country and western band—all while being relentlessly pursued by the police.

Expanding on their Saturday Night Live characters, John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd star as Jake and Elwood Blues, two white boys with black soul. Sporting cool shades and look-alike suits, Jake and Elwood are dispatched on a "mission from God" by their former teacher, Sister Mary Stigmata (Kathleen Freeman). Said mission is to raise $5000 to save an orphanage. In the course of their zany adventures, the Blues Brothers run afoul of neo-Nazi Henry Gibson, perform the theme from Rawhide before the most unruly bar crowd in written history, and lay waste to hundreds of cars on the streets and freeways of Chicago. In case you aren't swept up in the infectuous nuttiness of the brothers Blue, you might have fun spotting film's legion of guest stars, including James Brown, Cab Calloway, Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles, John Candy, Carrie Fisher, Steve Lawrence, Twiggy, Paul Reubens (aka Pee-Wee Herman), Frank Oz, and Steven Spielberg.

The response was amazing. People went nuts. I lived in a hotel across the street from Disneyland for a month. I'm one of those guys who likes to piddle around in the garage and fix stuff. Most studios in Memphis had a house set of drums; the drummers just brought their own sticks. Memphis is in a very lucky position on the map. Everything just gravitated to Memphis for years. I could have gone on to be an engineer full time, except that there was more demand for my playing. But the love of working the board never leaves you.

Briefcase Full Of Blues is the first album by The Blues Brothers, released on November 28, 1978 by Atlantic Records. The album reached #1 on the Billboard 200 and went double platinum. Two singles were released, Rubber Biscuit which reached number 37 on the Billboard Hot 100 and Soul Man, which reached number 14.
The Blues Brothers originated as a Saturday Night Live skit, featuring Dan Aykroyd and John Belushi (1949-1982), and would eventually make the outstanding comedy film, The Blues Brothers. Sadly, Belushi died in 1982 from an accidental speedball overdose when he was only 33. Eventually, Aykroyd fond a replacement, in Brother "Zee" Blues, played by James "Jim" Belushi, the latter who is John Belushi's younger brother.

Dos bares, da vida, da estrada...Os Mustang Blues Brothers vieram à galope. Tudo começou num encontro de amigos com um desejo em comum: Até aí, tudo igual. Não é uma história cheia de aventuras impressionantes, uma novela que provavelmente não será biografada por Nelson Motta.
Meados de 2014, Manolo Kottwitz, Murilo Chaise e João Inácio se reuniram emalgum lugar (que poderia ser algum bar, se eu me lembrasse) com uma ideia na cabeça: fazer música, mas aquele tipo de música que se faz com o coração. Estamos falando de Blues. O bom e velho Blues.
Passados alguns meses de trabalho em formato de trio acústico, urgiu a necessidade de agregar mais vida, mais sonoridade, mais timbre. E, aos poucos, um a um foram entrando para a Família Mustang os novos companheiros, grandes amigos além de tudo: Rafael Tagliari, Murilo Cavagnoli, André Castaman e o Maestro Jakson Kreuz. A gangue se fortaleceu, conquistou palcos e ganhou o carinho do público.
Hoje os Mustang Blues Brothers, cheios de gratidão, lançam para o mundo o registro do show que deu vida ao grupo: "Mustang Blues Brothers Ao Vivo no 1º Festival de Blues e Jazz de Chapecó, SC".
A trajetória dos Mustang Blues Brothers ainda é recente. A gangue que se formou vem trabalhando junto há aproximadamente um ano, e muita coisa aconteceu. Nesse período, fizemos participações em rádios, programas de televisão, festivais de música, web sessions e mesmo shows particulares, mas o registro que aqui está é um divisor de águas neste percurso. Desde então temos alçado nossa carreira, contribuindo com a cena local e nacional do blues. Nosso desejo é fazer com que esse jeito de fazer música seja levado para quantos mais ouvidos estejam de coração aberto.
