Benta
Benta is the story of a 16-year-old girl, who because of the loss of her parents in a tragic road accident finds herself forced to take on the job of a house help in order for her and her brothers to survive. Employed by the Fulanis, she finds herself having to deal with the hawkish mother Tabitha, the spoilt daughter Sheeana, the indifferent son Dedan and the lecherous husband Phillip.
The movie depicts the life of a house help in the Kenyan home and brings to front some amusing and uncomfortable truths. It shows the way we Kenyans (mis) treat the very people we trust with our lives.

Benta is the story of a 16-year-old girl, who because of the loss of her parents in a tragic road accident finds herself forced to take on the job of a house help in order for her and her brothers to survive. Employed by the Fulanis, she finds herself having to deal with the hawkish mother Tabitha, the spoilt daughter Sheeana, the indifferent son Dedan and the lecherous husband Phillip.
The movie depicts the life of a house help in the Kenyan home and brings to front some amusing and uncomfortable truths. It shows the way we Kenyans (mis) treat the very people we trust with our lives.
