Secaucus (/ˈsiːkɔːkəs/ SEE-kaw-kus) is a town in Hudson County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2010 United States Census, the town's population was 16,264, reflecting an increase of 333 (+2.1%) from the 15,931 counted in the 2000 Census, which had in turn increased by 1,870 (+13.3%) from the 14,061 counted in the 1990 Census.
Located within the New Jersey Meadowlands, it is the most suburban of the county's municipalities, though large parts of the town are dedicated to light manufacturing, retail, and transportation uses, as well as protected areas.
Secaucus is a derivation of the Algonquian words for "black" (seke or sukit) and "snake" (achgook), or "place of snakes. or sekakes, referring to snakes.
Sikakes, once an island, was part of the territory purchased by Director-General of New Netherland, Peter Stuyvesant in 1658. The territory was part of what is considered to the oldest municipality in the state of New Jersey which was first chartered in 1660 as Bergen in the province of New Netherland and, in 1683, became Bergen Township.
A middle school (also known as intermediate school or junior high school) is a school for students older than elementary school, but not yet in high school. The ages covered varies between, and sometimes within, countries.
In Afghanistan, middle school consists of grades 6, 7 and 8.
In Algeria, a middle school includes grades 6 through 10, consisting of students from ages 10 or 11 to 15.
Most regions of Australia do not have middle schools, as students go directly from primary school (for years K–6) to secondary school (years 7–12, usually referred to as high school).
As an alternate to the middle school model, some secondary schools divided their grades into "junior high school" (years 7 to 8) and "senior high school" (years 9, 10, 11, and 12.)
In 1996 and 1997, a national conference met to develop what became known as the National Middle Schooling Project, which aimed to develop a common Australian view of
New Jersey is a state in the Northeastern and Middle Atlantic regions of the United States. It is bordered on the north and east by New York, on the southeast and south by the Atlantic Ocean, on the west by Pennsylvania, and on the southwest by Delaware. New Jersey is the fourth-smallest state, but the 11th-most populous and the most densely populated of the 50 United States. New Jersey lies entirely within the combined statistical areas of New York City and Philadelphia and is the second-wealthiest U.S. state by median household income as of 2014.
New Jersey was inhabited by Native Americans for more than 2,800 years, with historical tribes such as the Lenape along the coast. In the early 17th century, the Dutch and the Swedes made the first European settlements. The English later seized control of the region, naming it the Province of New Jersey after the largest of the Channel Islands, Jersey, and granting it as a colony to Sir George Carteret and John Berkeley, 1st Baron Berkeley of Stratton. New Jersey was the site of several decisive battles during the American Revolutionary War in the 18th century.

An alligator was spotted earlier this month in Secaucus NJ at the Duck Pond by a public works employee but the animal scooted away before he could get a photo of it. It's described as 2-1/2 to 3 feet long, which experts don't consider large. The pond is used heavily as it's stocked for recreational fishing. There is no fence separating the public from the water. Secaucus put up yellow signs around the pond stating "Alligator Sighting, Exercise Caution." The question remains: Where is the gator? Rohan went on a search for it.
In the fall of 2016, the faculty and staff of Secaucus Middle School filmed a video for our annual Week Of Respect activities. ladies and gentlemen welcome tonight
peforming here for the very last time
is your life so please take a seat
the physics of innocence falls to the side
leaving the citizens nowhere to hide
so down the back stairs went all we know
i'm breathing out loud to pretend i'm alive
while strangers throw flowers and kiss me good bye
i guess i'm not as well as i had hoped
what ever happened to the greater design
it mus have stepped off with the first it could find
with the way it's all turned out who's to blame
rest your head here tonight
it's not supposed to turn out right
there's no one left and there's nowhere to go
maybe that's why i came
a still belief that it all can change
i hate the taste but i love the effect its bringing on
open committees are talking right now
deciding my fate and laughing out loud
the execution is on for the fourth of july
the only survivor was late to arrive
calling up sympathy and blessing the sight
it's all over now and you can't even cry
