Fort Worth is the 16th-largest city in the United States and the fifth-largest city in the state of Texas. The city is located in North Central Texas and covers nearly 350 square miles (910 km2) in Tarrant, Denton, Parker, and Wise counties—serving as the seat for Tarrant County. According to the 2014 census estimates, Fort Worth has a population of 812,238. The city is the second-largest in the Dallas–Fort Worth–Arlington metropolitan area (the "DFW Metroplex").
The city was established in 1849 as an Army outpost on a bluff overlooking the Trinity River. Today Fort Worth still embraces its Western heritage and traditional architecture and design.USS Fort Worth (LCS-3) is the first ship of the United States Navy named after the city.
Fort Worth is home to the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition and several world-class museums. The Kimbell Art Museum, considered to have one of the best collections in Texas, is housed in what is widely regarded as one of Texas' foremost works of modern architecture designed by Louis Kahn and Renzo Piano. Also of note are the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, designed by Tadao Ando, and the Amon Carter Museum of American Art, which houses one of the most extensive collections of American art in the world in a building designed by Philip Johnson. The city is also home to Texas Christian University, Texas Wesleyan University, University of North Texas Health Science Center, Texas A&M University School of Law, and many multinational corporations including Bell Helicopter, Lockheed Martin, American Airlines, Pier 1 Imports, Radio Shack, and others.
An international airport is an airport that offers customs and immigration facilities for passengers travelling between countries. International airports are typically larger than domestic airports and often feature longer runways and facilities to accommodate the heavier aircraft commonly used for international and intercontinental travel. International airports often also host domestic flights. Some, such as Frankfurt Airport in Germany are very large; others such as Fa'a'ā International Airport in Tahiti, are quite small.
Buildings, operations and management have become increasingly sophisticated since the mid 20th century, when international airports began to provide infrastructure for international civilian flights. Detailed technical standards have been developed to ensure safety and common coding systems implemented to provide global consistency. The physical structures that serve millions of individual passengers and flights are among the most complex and interconnected in the world. By the second decade of the 21st century, there were over 1,200 international airports and almost two billion international passengers along with 50 million metric tonnes of cargo were passing through them annually.
Dallas (/ˈdæləs/) is a major city in the state of Texas and is the largest urban center of the fourth most populous metropolitan area in the United States. The city proper ranks ninth in the U.S. and third in Texas after Houston and San Antonio. The city's prominence arose from its historical importance as a center for the oil and cotton industries, and its position along numerous railroad lines. The bulk of the city is in Dallas County, of which it is the county seat; however, sections of the city are located in Collin, Denton, Kaufman, and Rockwall counties. According to the 2010 United States Census, the city had a population of 1,197,816. The United States Census Bureau's estimate for the city's population increased to 1,281,047, as of 2014.
An airport is an aerodrome with facilities for flights to take off and land. Airports often have facilities to store and maintain aircraft, and a control tower. An airport consists of a landing area, which comprises an aerially accessible open space including at least one operationally active surface such as a runway for a plane to take off or a helipad, and often includes adjacent utility buildings such as control towers, hangars and terminals. Larger airports may have fixed base operator services, airport aprons, air traffic control centres, passenger facilities such as restaurants and lounges, and emergency services.
An airport with a helipad for rotorcraft but no runway is called a heliport. An airport for use by seaplanes and amphibious aircraft is called a seaplane base. Such a base typically includes a stretch of open water for takeoffs and landings, and seaplane docks for tying-up.
An international airport has additional facilities for customs and immigration.
In warfare, airports can become the focus of intense fighting, for example the Battle of Tripoli Airport or the Battle for Donetsk Airport, both taking place in 2014. An airport primarily for military use is called an airbase or air station.
The Dallas–Fort Worth–Arlington, TX Metropolitan Statistical Area, the official title designated by the United States Office of Management and Budget, encompasses 13 counties within the U.S. state of Texas. Residents of the area refer to it as the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex, DFW, or The Metroplex. It is the economic and cultural hub of the region commonly called North Texas or North Central Texas and is the largest land-locked metropolitan area in the United States.
The 2014 official estimate U.S. Census has the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex at 6,954,330, making it the largest metropolitan area in the South. During the 12-month period from July 2008 to July 2009, the Dallas–Fort Worth–Arlington metropolitan area gained 146,530 new residents, more than any other metropolitan area in the United States. The area's population has grown by about one million since the 2000 US census. The Dallas–Fort Worth–Arlington MSA is, by population, the largest metropolitan area in Texas, the largest in the South, the fourth-largest in the United States, and the eleventh-largest in the Americas. The metroplex encompasses 9,286 square miles (24,100 km2) of total area: 8,991 sq mi (23,290 km2) is land, while 295 sq mi (760 km2) is water, making it larger in area than the U.S. states of Rhode Island and Connecticut combined. It also has the fifth largest gross metropolitan product (GMP) in the United States, and approximately tenth largest by GMP in the world.

Narrowbody and cargo aircraft views come after (around the 13-minute mark). You'll see mostly AA aircraft, but also some foreign widebodies. Hope you enjoy!
In my opinion, DFW is a more spotter friendly airport than O'Hare since DFW has its own aircraft viewing area (Founders Plaza) whereas ORD doesn't have a set spotting area. It was very windy when I was spotting at Founders Plaza, so that's why the camerawork is a little shaky, even though I had a tripod. Regardless, I hope you enjoy the video, don't forget to give it a thumbs up! --------------------------- Date(s): May 11th, 13th, 14th, & 15th Spotting Location: Founders Plaza & Hyatt Regency DFW Camera: Sony HandyCam HDR-CX240 Tripod: Sunpak 4200XL travel tripod ---------------------------- NEWEST TRIP REPORT: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0wUECbjlbnE INSTAGRAM: http://www.instagram.com/asaviation_yt WEBSITE: http://asaviationrail.weebly.com --------------------------- Thanks for watch...
Part of this footage was used in my Puerto Vallarta trip report, which can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TdI3jCfNi1c I decided to upload all of the footage I shot on the SkyLink system during two separate layovers at DFW this past March. That's why some footage is from the very early morning hours (and it's dark outside), and some is from the later morning hours. The SkyLink is an automated people mover system used to transport passengers between terminals at DFW Airport. It runs in a loop, and trains are available in both directions. It's my favorite airport people mover anywhere because of the incredible views it offers of the whole airport. While during two layovers I had some time to video the action at Dallas/Fort Worth airport from inside the terminals and on board the Skylink shuttle train between terminals. There's plenty of American Airlines action, including a brand new 777-300ER in the new livery (quite underwhelming) and oodles of MD-80s. A few foreign and cargo jumbo jets are tucked in to balance out the action. To end the video, I include some footage aboard an American MD80. All footage was filmed in March 2013.
DFW Airport is one of ten airports using the new technology. The screening enhances security while decreasing the amount of time it takes to wait.
video follows tx spur route 97 north ( MPR PTZ Tolled ) through the middle of dallas/fort worth international airport . this is one of the busiest airports in the world and this video shows off its amazing road and rail infrastructure. route is often used as a bypass for 183 and you may pass through the area for a minimal 1 hr pass of 3 usd. NTTA tolltag THRU lanes at a less minimal charge of standard . no other texas tolltags are accepted on this route.
Connecting at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW/KDFW), deplaning at gate D29, walking on the corridors to immigration then walking around a little bit at terminal D airside to gate D27 and finally boarding flight American 963 to São Paulo. At the end of the movie, we take off on a Boeing 777-323ER, registration N722AN.
I rode the Skylink from Terminal A to Terminal B at Dallas Fort Worth Airport in Dallas, TX. I did not have much time to walk around in the airport. I had to catch my American Eagle Flight to Lubbock, TX that was departing out of Gate B13.
International Terminal D is a 2,000,000 sq ft (186,000 m2) facility capable of handling 32,000 passengers daily or 11.7 million passengers annually. The terminal features 200 ticketing positions and a federal inspection facility capable of processing 2,800 passengers per hour. The concession areas consist of 100,000 sq ft (9,290 m2) of retail, including many dining and retail options. Stores include Mont Blanc, La Bodega Wines, Brookstone, L'Occitane and many others. The terminal was designed by HKS, HNTB and Corgan Associates, with Austin Commercial serving as Construction Manager at Risk, L.A. Fuess Partners, Campbell and Associates, and Walter P. The world’s largest passenger plane is now making regular flights from DFW Airport. Qantas is offering non-stop flights to Sydney, Australia. Emirates flies the A380 to Dubai. Leaders across the region say this will make a large economic impact, and add convenience for business travelers. It's a destination shaped by a commitment to its downtown revitalization and urban renewal, a dedication to its world-renowned cultural arts district, rich pride in its Western heritage and a loyalty to major-league attractions.
