Paddy Chayefsky's Oscar-winning slice-of-life drama originated as a live 1953 broadcast directed by Delbert Mann on The Philco-Goodyear Television Playhouse starring Rod Steiger and Nancy Marchand. The Hecht-Lancaster movie version, also directed by Mann, replaces the two leads with Ernest Borgnine and Betsy Blair (as well as featuring several soon-to-be-familiar faces, including Jerry Paris, Frank Sutton, and Karen Steele, plus Joe Mantell, Nehemiah Persoff, and Betsy Palmer from the TV version). But it remains otherwise intact, telling of 24 very important hours in the lives of two lonely people. Marty is a bittersweet, sometimes funny, sometimes poignant, and always realistic comedy-drama about Marty Pilletti (Ernest Borgnine), a 34-year-old Bronx butcher. Approaching middle-age as a burly, somewhat overweight man who has no illusions about himself or his attractiveness to women, Marty looks forward to just one thing in life -- buying his boss's butcher shop and trying to make a success in business -- and he's even uncertain about that. A gentle, good-natured man, he lives with his mother (Esther Minciotti), a kind but emotionally smothering woman, in a too-large house and spends his time a small circle of dead-end friends (Joe Mantell, Frank Sutton). One Friday night, Marty's mother convinces him to go to the Stardust Ballroom, where he meets a plain-looking schoolteacher named Clara (Betsy Blair), whose life appears to mirror his own -- she lives with her father, and is frightened about the one prospect she has for advancement in her job. Meeting her after witnessing a humiliating rejection by her blind date, Marty acts on his best impulses and asks Clara to dance, and soon they are actually enjoying each other's company. She is as drawn to him as he is to her, but both are so uncertain about putting themselves at risk emotionally, that the evening almost ends badly when he tries to kiss her -- but they agree to go to talk on the phone and go to a movie the next night. But whatever good feelings he has about Clara are soon threatened by his friends' put-downs of her, and his mother's hostility, driven by her sudden panic that if Marty marries, she'll be left living alone. Marty spends the next day alone and never does call Clara, seemingly having decided that it's best to leave well enough alone. That is, until he takes a good long look at his life, and a listen to his friends -- and he suddenly makes the decision to try for true happiness, wherever it leads.

Back to the Future is a 1985 American science-fiction adventure film. It is directed by Robert Zemeckis, written by Zemeckis and Bob Gale, produced by Steven Spielberg, and stars Michael J. Fox, Christopher Lloyd, Lea Thompson, Crispin Glover and Thomas F. Wilson. The film tells the story of Marty McFly, a teenager who is accidentally sent back in time from 1985 to 1955. He meets his future-parents in high school and accidentally attracts his future mother's romantic interest. Marty must repair the damage to history by causing his parents-to-be to fall in love, and with the help of scientist Dr. Emmett "Doc" Brown, he must find a way to return to 1985.
The Hill Valley town square scenes were shot at Courthouse Square, located in the Universal Studios back lot . The exteriors for Doc Brown's house were shot at t Gamble House. The exterior shots of the Twin Pines Mall, and later the Lone Pine Mall (from 1985) were shot at the Puente Hills Mall in City of Industry, California. The exterior shots and some interior scenes at Hill Valley High School were filmed at Whittier High School in Whittier, California, while the band tryouts and the "Enchantment Under The Sea" dance were filmed in the gymnasium at Hollywood United Methodist Church. The scenes outside of the Baines' house in the 50s were shot at Bushnell Avenue, South Pasadena, California.

Marty is a 1955 American romantic drama film directed by Delbert Mann. The screenplay was written by Paddy Chayefsky, expanding upon his 1953 teleplay of the same name. The film stars Ernest Borgnine and Betsy Blair. In addition to gaining an Academy Award for Best Picture, the film enjoyed international success, becoming the fourth American film to win top prize at the Cannes Film Festival, and by a unanimous vote, becoming the first film to be awarded the Palme d'Or. Marty and The Lost Weekend (1945) are the only two films to win both organizations' grand prizes.
Plot
Marty Piletti (Borgnine) is an Italian American butcher who lives in The Bronx with his mother (Esther Minciotti). Unmarried at 34, the good-natured but socially awkward Marty faces constant badgering from family and friends to settle down, pointing out that all his brothers and sisters are already married with children. Not averse to marriage but disheartened by his lack of prospects, Marty has reluctantly resigned himself to bachelorhood.

Museum of Broadcasting Hall of Fame Marty O'Neill Inducted 2010 A generation of wrestling fans remembers Marty O’Neill as the announcer for All Star Wrestling. But he should also be remembered as one of the finest all-around sports broadcasters in Minnesota history. Marty was in the business for one reason – he loved sports. A 1929 graduate of St. Paul Central High School, Marty was a three-sport letter winner in football, basketball, and baseball. Marty was named to the all-city football and basketball teams. He played amateur baseball for several seasons and won the national championship in 1937. He also played two years with the Duluth team of the Northern League. Following his baseball career, Marty officiated high school and college football games before becoming sports director of WMIN Radio where he announced the play-by-play for the St. Paul Saints baseball and hockey teams. In 1955 he began his career as a wrestling announcer. His knowledge of the sport, flawless delivery, and humility earned him the respect of everyone who worked with him. Marty was a charter inductee into the Minnesota Baseball Association’s Hall of Fame in 1963 and the St. Paul Central High School Athletic Hall of Fame in 1995. Martin H. O’Neill passed away February 7, 1983.

But he should also be remembered as one of the finest all-around sports broadcasters in Minnesota history. Marty was in the business for one reason – he loved sports. A 1929 graduate of St. Paul Central High School, Marty was a three-sport letter winner in football, basketball, and baseball. Marty was named to the all-city football and basketball teams. He played amateur baseball for several seasons and won the national championship in 1937. He also played two years with the Duluth team of the Northern League. Following his baseball career, Marty officiated high school and college football games before becoming sports director of WMIN Radio where he announced the play-by-play for the St. Paul Saints baseball and hockey teams. In 1955 he began his career as a wrestling announcer. His knowledge of the sport, flawless delivery, and humility earned him the respect of everyone who worked with him. Marty was a charter inductee into the Minnesota Baseball Association’s Hall of Fame in 1963 and the St. Paul Central High School Athletic Hall of Fame in 1995. Martin H. From Locations Tours, to Hoverboarding with the Stunt Crew, to an authentic Enchantment Under The Sea Dance at the Hollywood Presbyterian Church (the orginal site from the first film), the fans had the BTTF experience of a lifetime. Or is it just ALL time? In this clip we see the events of Hoverboarding day, where fans were given a chance to see how the movie magic was made for Part 2 in the Back To The Future saga, as well as taking part in their very own hoverboard ride. In the feature film series, Dr. Emmett "...he DeLorean time machine is a fictional automobile-based time travel device featured in the Back to the Future trilogy. In the feature film series, Dr. Emmett "Doc" Brown builds a time machine from a DeLorean DMC-12 with the intent of gaining insights into history and the future but instead winds up using it to travel across 130 years of Hill Valley history (from 1885 to 2015) undoing the negative effects of time travel. One of the cars used in filming is currently on display in the Studio Tour at Universal Studios Hollywood The operation of the DeLorean time machine is consistent throughout all three films. The operator sits inside the DeLorean, (except for the first time, when a remote control is used), and turns on the time circuits, activating a unit containing multiple fourteen and seven-segment displays that show the destination, present, and last-departed dates and times. After entering a target date, the operator accelerates the car to 88 miles per hour (141.6 km/h), which activates the flux capacitor. As it accelerates, several rails around the body of the car glow blue. Surrounded by large sparks, the whole car vanishes in a flash of blue light seconds later, leaving a pair of fire trails where the vehicle's tires will pass arriving at the destination time. Observers outside the vehicle see an implosion of plasma as the vehicle disappears, while occupants within the vehicle see a quick flash of light and instantaneously arrive at the target time in the same spatial location (relative to the Earth) as when it departed. In the destination time, immediately before the car's arrival, three large and loud flashes issue forth from the point from which the car emerges from its time travel. After the trip, the DeLorean is extremely cold, and frost forms from atmospheric moisture all over the car's body.[1] A few technical glitches with the DeLorean hinder time travel for its inhabitants; in the first film, the car has starter problems and has a hard time turning over once stopped, much to Marty's repeated frustration.[1] In the second movie, the time display malfunctions and shows random dates, which partially cause Doc to be sent to 1885.[2] In the third movie, the fuel line rips while the car is off-road, preventing the car from running under its own power.[3] The flux capacitor, which consists of a rectangular shaped compartment with three flashing Geissler style-tubes (arranged in a "Y" configuration), is described by Doc as "what makes time travel possible." he DeLorean time machine is a fictional automobile-based time travel device featured in the Back to the Future trilogy. In the feature film series, Dr. Emmett "Doc" Brown builds a time machine from a DeLorean DMC-12 with the intent of gaining insights into history and the future but instead winds up using it to travel across 130 years of Hill Valley history (from 1885 to 2015) undoing the negative effects of time travel. One of the cars used in filming is currently on display in the Studio Tour at Universal Studios Hollywood The operation of the DeLorean time machine is consistent throughout all three films. The operator sits inside the DeLorean, (except for the first time, when a remote control is used), and turns on the time circuits, activating a unit containing multiple fourteen and seven-segment displays that show the destination, present, and last-departed dates and times. After entering a target date, the operator accelerates the car to 88 miles per hour (141.6 km/h), which activates the flux capacitor. As it accelerates, several rails around the body of the car glow blue. Surrounded by large sparks, the whole car vanishes in a flash of blue light seconds later, leaving a pair of fire trails where the vehicle's tires will pass arriving at the destination time. Observers outside the vehicle see an implosion of plasma as the vehicle disappears, while occupants within the vehicle see a quick flash of light and instantaneously arrive at the target time in the same spatial location (relative to the Earth) as when it departed. In the destination time, immediately before the car's arrival, three large and loud flashes issue forth from the point from which the car emerges from its time travel. After the trip, the DeLorean is extremely cold, and frost forms from atmospheric moisture all over the car's body.[1] A few technical glitches with the DeLorean hinder time travel for its inhabitants; in the first film, the car has starter problems and has a hard time turning over once stopped, much to Marty's repeated frustration.[1] In the second movie, the time display malfunctions and shows random dates, which partially cause Doc to be sent to 1885.[2] In the third movie, the fuel line rips while the car is off-road, preventing the car from running under its own power.[3] The flux capacitor, which consists of a rectangular shaped compartment with three flashing Geissler style-tubes (arranged in a "Y" configuration), is described by Doc as "what makes time travel possible."
