Callaway may refer to:
Callaway Golf Company is an American global sporting goods company that designs, manufactures, markets and sells golf equipment, golf accessories and golf lifestyle-related products in more than 70 countries worldwide. The American company, based in Carlsbad, California, is the world’s largest maker of golf clubs.
Callaway Golf sells its products through golf retailers and sporting goods retailers, through mass merchants, directly online, and through its pre-owned and trade-in services. Callaway Golf licenses its name, trademarks and service marks for golf lifestyle products including golf apparel, golf shoes, golf bags, headwear, watches, rangefinders, practice aids and travel gear.
Callaway Golf also market products under the Odyssey putter brand, acquired in 1997, as well as the Top-Flite, Strata and Ben Hogan golf brands picked up following the bankruptcy of Spalding's former golf division in 2003.
Callaway Golf Company was founded by former Burlington Industries textile president, Ely Callaway Jr. Callaway was raised in Lagrange, GA and was a graduate from Emory University. Callaway became very successful in the textile industry and was very fond of playing golf. At games, Callaway would use clubs by Hickory Sticks. The clubs were constructed of hickory-shafts with a steel core. At that time, Hickory Sticks was owned by Richard Parente, Dick De La Cruz and Tony Manzoni. As Hickory Sticks started running low on funds, they sought investors to help the company and approached Callaway. At the time, he had just sold his vineyards for a $9 million profit. Then in 1982, he bought half of Hickory Sticks, the company was renamed to Callaway Hickory Stick USA. In 1984, Callaway bought the rest of the company for $400,000. In 1983, he became president and moved the company to Carlsbad, California where he sold clubs out of his Cadillac. The company eventually changed to its present name in 1988.
The Fillmore is a historic music venue in San Francisco, California, made famous by Bill Graham. Originally named the Majestic Hall, it became the "Fillmore Auditorium" in 1954 when Charles Sullivan acquired the master lease from the building owner, Harry Shiffs, and renamed it for the neighborhood rather than its original location at the intersection of Fillmore Street and Geary Boulevard. It is situated in the historical center of the Western Addition neighborhood, on the edge of the Fillmore District and Upper Fillmore (lately known as Lower Pacific Heights). From the 1930s through the '60s, before redevelopment, this location was considered the heart of the San Francisco Fillmore District.
Graham also opened a Fillmore East in New York City in March, 1968. In July, 1968, he opened an additional venue in San Francisco under the same brand. Formerly known as The Carousel Ballroom at Market Street and South Van Ness Avenue, he called this the Fillmore West.
On May 27, 28 and 29, 1966, The Velvet Underground and Nico led by Lou Reed played the Fillmore Auditorium as part of Andy Warhol's Exploding Plastic Inevitable avant-garde, multimedia show premiered in New York City. Their light show engineer Danny Williams, who pioneered many of today's standard practices in rock music light shows, built a light system at the Fillmore that included stroboscopes, slides and film projections onstage. Conceived by Andy Warhol, Danny Williams and using some of film maker Jonas Mekas's ideas (Mekas pioneered film projections during concerts at The Cinematheque in New York), the show also included wild, free dancing both in the crowd and onstage. At Bill Graham's request Danny Williams soon came back to the Fillmore to build more. These innovations were to become part of the Fillmore Auditorium's prestige and image and were also used at the Fillmore East and Fillmore West venues, both opened in 1968.

As of right now, the Z06 sits atop the stock Chevrolet Corvette horsepower heap. But even though it breached a whole new level of performance for Corvette; it wasn’t enough for the folks at Callaway cars. So of course they’ve worked their typical magic and brought us this 757-horsepower beast! So let’s see how it runs. It’s true the 2016 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 is more than enough car for most mortals, but we’re not “most”; and neither are the hard-charging gearhead genius’s at Callaway Cars. This SC757 Z06 is their answer to the question, “how can you make a Z06 even better?” Adding power is a time-tested means, and here that methodology is carried out by upping supercharger displacement from 1.7-liters to 2.3. The intercooler is redesigned, as is the intake manifold; fed by Callaw...

San Francisco-based paper artist Ryan De La Hoz talks about why he works with paper, his preference for analog versus digital and why he thinks he can't draw.
named the most traveled athlete in the world, Mr. Player has won 165 tournaments in a career that spanned over five decades. in our short time with him, he spoke to us about fitness, food, and the value of hard work. though his list of accolades are inspiring and the diversity of activities he is involved in mind boggling, what really struck us was just how much energy and intensity he had. at 75, often still on the road, he wakes up to a workout daily. our day with him had a packed schedule, as we drove from location to location he was always sharing stories and his thoughts on anything from world issues to his ranch back home in south africa. regardless of the subject, he was always passionately involved in the conversation and had plenty to offer. going into this spot, we had heard of ...

next week is our final installment of the callaway series. a lifestyle reel combing all of the stories we came across in putting these films together. phil is one of those guys that you've heard of whether your a golf fan or not. much like football, we became a fan of the sport of golf after experiencing it first hand through the filming of the many personalities involved in the game. being that phil is who he is, he has and had a lot of demands on his time and was only available for half of the time that we got to do the other pieces. that meant roughly 6 hours from call time to wrap with an interview for the golf channel, a photo shoot, and lunch mixed in. all of this to say we had to be on our toes, ready before he was, know exactly when and where we wanted to shoot and always be prepa...
This is my latest character TD demo reel. Hope you like it.
"hi, i'm ron burgundy?" and that was how stuart appleby introduced himself to us. with his down to earth personality and witty humor, it was easy to forget that appleby was the winner of 9 PGA tours and a host of other tournaments. we never really know what to expect when meeting these golfers for the first time but our approach is always the same -- try to learn as much as we can about them so we can tell their story. for appleby his upbeat personality and his love for the game, rather than the game itself, was his story. in-between setups, appleby would come up to us and joke around, chat about dslr cameras, broadband technology, and how freezing cold it is in canada. i made sure to let him know that part of our team was actually from california. because of the small footprint and effi...
prior to filming this series of spots for callaway we didn't know much about golf. yes we've heard of the big names like phil mickelson and ernie els, but not any women and certainly not any young women. enter morgan pressel, just twenty-one years old and already winner of multiple LPGA tours. being so successful on the course so early on, morgan's family was a big part of her life and it didn't take long for her to share that story with us. the thing that strikes me most about all the professional golfers we met is how open they are to the entire crew. often times we are invited to spend a day with them, not just on the driving range or in the hitting booth, but into their homes with some of their closest family members. with morgan we spent the afternoon in her kitchen as she baked cook...
I just hung up the phone
I was talking to you
We said good bye
I sat down and cry
Coz' I remembered the things
That we've done
When we were sitting together
And our love has begun
For more and more
I want to go back in time
I'll always love you
I hope you know
But on and on
I need to wait
Chorus:
7 1/2 years that was our pact
7 1/2 years there is no turning back
7 1/2 years till I get to see you again
I am looking at the pictures
Of me and you
Both of us were smiling
For this damn photo-shoot
That was the day when it all began
But all I want to now
Is to see you again
For more and more
I want to go back in time
I'll always love you
I hope you know
But on and on
I need to wait
