Venice (English /ˈvɛnɪs/ VEN-iss; Italian: Venezia [veˈnɛttsja]) is a city in northeastern Italy sited on a group of 118 small islands separated by canals and linked by bridges. It is located in the marshy Venetian Lagoon which stretches along the shoreline, between the mouths of the Po and the Piave Rivers. Venice is renowned for the beauty of its setting, its architecture, and its artwork. The city in its entirety is listed as a World Heritage Site, along with its lagoon.
Venice is the capital of the Veneto region. In 2009, there were 270,098 people residing in Venice's comune (the population estimate of 272,000 inhabitants includes the population of the whole Comune of Venezia; of whom around 60,000 live in the historic city of Venice (Centro storico); 176,000 in Terraferma (the mainland), mostly in the large frazioni (roughly equivalent to "parishes" or "wards" in other countries) of Mestre and Marghera; and 31,000 on other islands in the lagoon). Together with Padua and Treviso, the city is included in the Padua-Treviso-Venice Metropolitan Area (PATREVE), with a total population of 2,600,000. PATREVE is only a statistical metropolitan area without any degree of autonomy.
San Marco is one of the six sestieri of Venice, lying in the heart of the city as the main place of Venice. San Marco also includes the island of San Giorgio Maggiore. Although the district includes Saint Mark's Square, that was never administered as part of the sestiere.
The small district includes many of Venice's most famous sights, including St Mark's Square, Saint Mark's Basilica, the Doge's Palace, Harry's Bar, the Palazzo Dandolo, San Moisè, the La Fenice theatre, the Palazzo Grassi and the churches of San Beneto, San Fantin, Santa Maria del Giglio, San Maurizio, San Moisè, Santo Stefano, San Salvador, San Zulian and San Samuele.
The area is densely built and was the location of Venice's government. It is now heavily touristed and there are many hotels, banks and expensive shops.
San Marco is also a place which is used in several video games such as in Tekken, Assassin's Creed II and Venetica.

Hombres G is a Spanish pop rock band, formed in Spain in 1982. They are widely considered one of Spain's most prominent pop groups of the 1980s and early 1990s. The band consists of David Summers (bass, vocals), Rafael Gutierrez (guitar), Dani Mezquita (guitar), and Javi Molina (drums).
Hombres G made their live debut at Madrid's Rock-Ola in 1983 during La Movida Madrileña. Their sound was influenced by the early Beatles and the British new wave movement. They found commercial success with the release of Hombres G (1985) and the song "Devuélveme a mi chica". The youthful and adolescent nature of their music attracted a large audience, both at home and abroad — thousands covered the Gran Vía Madrileña during the release of their two films and Lima's Jorge Chávez International Airport was nearly closed due to the 20,000 fans that congregated on the landing runway during their first visit to Perú.
The group's sound began to expand and show more adult concerns with the albums Voy a pasármelo bien (1989) and Ésta es tu vida (1990). Hombres G went on hiatus after the release of their 1992 album, Historia del bikini. David pursued a solo career, Rafa and Dani remained involved in the music industry, and Javi devoted time to his bar in Madrid.

A video made from footage I shot while visiting Venice. This city has a unique atmosphere of romance, relaxation side by side with daily hustle and bustle of tourism. Being there, I felt engulfed in the warmth of the sunlight and the mist of the sea winds. Panasonic HVX200, Brevis 35mm Adapter, Ricoh GX with wide angle lens adapter, Final Cut Pro, Apple Color. Adobe Photoshop for credits and text. There wasn't anything special I had to do as the city was so beautiful that I could almost close my eyes and turn my camera on to get great images. Music credits are at the end- Rachael's Song by Vangelis. Hope you enjoy

The ‘city of lagoons’, Venice became the capital of romance, the dream of honeymooners, and destination of millions because of the Saint Mark’s Cathedral, the St. Mark’s Clock, the Doge’s Palace, the Bridge of the Sighs and the tower of Campanile. The city living under the wing of the lion is a capital of Byzantian, Gothic and Renessaince architecture. Almost hundred palaces on the bank of the Canale Grande are like a living exhibition. From a gondola we can take a look at the Santa Maria Della Salute church, the Rialto Bridge, while taking the narrow calles instead of the canals, one can also see the birthplace of Marco Polo, the Zanipolo temple and the statue of Colleoni. Let us take a boat trip to the island of lagoons, to the Lido, to Murano, which is famous of its glass makers and to ...
