I was raised a practicing Muslim and remained one for almost half my life. I attended madrassas, that is, Islamic schools, and memorized large parts of the Quran. As a child, I lived in Mecca for a time and frequently visited the Grand Mosque. As a teenager, I sympathized with the Muslim Brotherhood.
At 22 while my family was living in Kenya, my father arranged my marriage to a member of our family clan, a man that I had never met. I ran away, made my way to Holland, studied there and eventually was elected a member of the Dutch parliament. Now I live in the United States.
In short, I have seen Islam from the inside and the outside.
I believe that a reform of Islam is necessary and possible. And only Muslims can make that reform a reality. But we in the West cannot remain on the sidelines as though the outcome of this struggle has nothing to do with us. If the jihadists win and the hope for a reformed Islam dies, the rest of the world will pay a terrible price. The terror attacks in New York, London, Madrid, Paris and many other places are only a preview for what is to come.
For this reason, I believe that it’s foolish to insist, as Western leaders habitually do, that the violent acts committed in the name of Islam can somehow be divorced from the religion itself. For more than a decade, my message has been simple: Islam is not a religion of peace.
When I assert this, I do not mean that Islamic belief makes all Muslims violent. This is manifestly not the case: There are many millions of peaceful Muslims in the world. What I do say is that the call to violence and the justification for it are explicitly stated in the sacred texts of Islam. Moreover, this theologically sanctioned violence is there to be activated by any number of offenses, including but not limited to adultery, blasphemy, homosexuality and apostasy—that is, to leave Islam.
Those who tolerate this intolerance do so at their peril.
As someone who has known what it is to live without freedom, I watch in amazement as those who call themselves liberals and progressives—people who claim to believe so fervently in individual liberty and minority rights—make common cause with the forces in the world that manifestly pose the greatest threats to that very freedom and those very minorities.
In 2014 I was invited to accept an honorary degree from Brandeis University for the work I have done on behalf of women's rights in the Muslim world. That invitation was withdrawn after professors and students protested my criticism of Islam. My subsequent "disinvitation," as it came to be called, was no favor to Muslims—just the opposite. By labeling critical examination of Islam as inherently "racist," we make the chances of reformation far less likely. There are no limits on criticism of Christianity at American universities…or anywhere else for that matter. Why should there be of Islam?
Instead of contorting Western intellectual traditions so as not to offend our Muslim fellow citizens, we need to defend both those traditions and the Muslim dissidents who take great risks to promote them. We should support these brave men and women in every way possible.
Imagine a platform for Muslim dissidents that communicated their message through YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. These are the Muslims we should be supporting—for our sake as much for the sake of Islam.

Bernie Freaks When Christian Refuses to Deny Faith for Islam

This shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone, but Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders is having trouble understanding the Constitution, and in this particular case its prohibition against a religious test for public office.
During a confirmation hearing Wednesday for a Office of Management and Budget nominee, Sanders was clearly trying to impose a religious test on a Trump administration nominee.
About halfway through the Senate Budget Committee hearing of nominee Russell Vought, Sanders asked him directly about his Christian faith. His question related to a line taken from a blog post Vought wrote in January of 2016.
“You wrote, ‘Muslims do not simply have a deficient theology. They do not know God because they have rejected Jesus Christ, His Son, and they stand condemned.’ Do you believe that that statement is Islamophobic?” Sanders asked.
“Absolutely not, senator. I’m a Christian, and I believe in a Christian set of principles based on my faith,” Vought replied. “That post, as I stated in the questionnaire to this committee, was to defend my alma mater, Wheaton College, a Christian school that has a statement of faith that includes the centrality of Jesus Christ for salvation, and …”
“I apologize. Forgive me, we just don’t have a lot of time,” Sanders interrupted. “Do you believe people in the Muslim religion stand condemned? Is that your view?”
As Vought attempted to once again explain that he was a Christian, Sanders cut him off, shouting, “I understand you are a Christian, but this country are made of people who are not just — I understand that Christianity is the majority religion, but there are other people of different religions in this country and around the world. In your judgment, do you think that people who are not Christians are going to be condemned?”
“As a Christian, I believe that all individuals are made in the image of God and are worthy of dignity and respect regardless of their religious beliefs. I believe that as a Christian that’s how I should treat all individuals,” Vought responded.
After Vought once again refused to renounce what he wrote in the blog, Sanders said, “I would simply say, Mr. Chairman, that this nominee is really not someone who this country is supposed to be about,” adding that he would be voting against confirming the nomination.
Essentially, Sanders is insisting that anyone who believes there is only one way to salvation (which includes Muslims, by the way) are not fit to serve in public office. While trying to expose Vought as unsuitable for office, Sanders instead revealed it’s him who has an utter disrespect for our nation’s Constitution.
The fact that Vought holds orthodox Christian beliefs and has written about them publicly has no bearing on whether he is an acceptable nominee to work in the Office of Management and Budget, or any other public office for that matter.
Sanders choice to focus on Vought’s public statements regarding the Christian faith shows his staunch opposition to Christians, and should be concerning to anyone who believes in our Constitution and our nation’s heritage of religious liberty.
And to think this man could have been president.

Bernie Sanders is having trouble understanding the Constitution, and in this particular case its prohibition against a religious test for public office. During a confirmation hearing Wednesday for a Office of Management and Budget nominee, Sanders was clearly trying to impose a religious test on a Trump administration nominee. About halfway through the Senate Budget Committee hearing of nominee Russell Vought, Sanders asked him directly about his Christian faith. His question related to a line taken from a blog post Vought wrote in January of 2016. “You wrote, ‘Muslims do not simply have a deficient theology. They do not know God because they have rejected Jesus Christ, His Son, and they stand condemned.’ Do you believe that that statement is Islamophobic?” Sanders asked. “Absolutely not, senator. I’m a Christian, and I believe in a Christian set of principles based on my faith,” Vought replied. “That post, as I stated in the questionnaire to this committee, was to defend my alma mater, Wheaton College, a Christian school that has a statement of faith that includes the centrality of Jesus Christ for salvation, and …” “I apologize. Forgive me, we just don’t have a lot of time,” Sanders interrupted. “Do you believe people in the Muslim religion stand condemned? Is that your view?” As Vought attempted to once again explain that he was a Christian, Sanders cut him off, shouting, “I understand you are a Christian, but this country are made of people who are not just — I understand that Christianity is the majority religion, but there are other people of different religions in this country and around the world. In your judgment, do you think that people who are not Christians are going to be condemned?” “As a Christian, I believe that all individuals are made in the image of God and are worthy of dignity and respect regardless of their religious beliefs. I believe that as a Christian that’s how I should treat all individuals,” Vought responded. After Vought once again refused to renounce what he wrote in the blog, Sanders said, “I would simply say, Mr. Chairman, that this nominee is really not someone who this country is supposed to be about,” adding that he would be voting against confirming the nomination. Essentially, Sanders is insisting that anyone who believes there is only one way to salvation (which includes Muslims, by the way) are not fit to serve in public office. While trying to expose Vought as unsuitable for office, Sanders instead revealed it’s him who has an utter disrespect for our nation’s Constitution. The fact that Vought holds orthodox Christian beliefs and has written about them publicly has no bearing on whether he is an acceptable nominee to work in the Office of Management and Budget, or any other public office for that matter. Sanders choice to focus on Vought’s public statements regarding the Christian faith shows his staunch opposition to Christians, and should be concerning to anyone who believes in our Constitution and our nation’s heritage of religious liberty. And to think this man could have been president. I was raised a practicing Muslim and remained one for almost half my life. I attended madrassas, that is, Islamic schools, and memorized large parts of the Quran. As a child, I lived in Mecca for a time and frequently visited the Grand Mosque. As a teenager, I sympathized with the Muslim Brotherhood.
At 22 while my family was living in Kenya, my father arranged my marriage to a member of our family clan, a man that I had never met. I ran away, made my way to Holland, studied there and eventually was elected a member of the Dutch parliament. Now I live in the United States.
In short, I have seen Islam from the inside and the outside.
I believe that a reform of Islam is necessary and possible. And only Muslims can make that reform a reality. But we in the West cannot remain on the sidelines as though the outcome of this struggle has nothing to do with us. If the jihadists win and the hope for a reformed Islam dies, the rest of the world will pay a terrible price. The terror attacks in New York, London, Madrid, Paris and many other places are only a preview for what is to come.
For this reason, I believe that it’s foolish to insist, as Western leaders habitually do, that the violent acts committed in the name of Islam can somehow be divorced from the religion itself. For more than a decade, my message has been simple: Islam is not a religion of peace.
When I assert this, I do not mean that Islamic belief makes all Muslims violent. This is manifestly not the case: There are many millions of peaceful Muslims in the world. What I do say is that the call to violence and the justification for it are explicitly stated in the sacred texts of Islam. Moreover, this theologically sanctioned violence is there to be activated by any number of offenses, including but not limited to adultery, blasphemy, homosexuality and apostasy—that is, to leave Islam.
Those who tolerate this intolerance do so at their peril.
As someone who has known what it is to live without freedom, I watch in amazement as those who call themselves liberals and progressives—people who claim to believe so fervently in individual liberty and minority rights—make common cause with the forces in the world that manifestly pose the greatest threats to that very freedom and those very minorities.
In 2014 I was invited to accept an honorary degree from Brandeis University for the work I have done on behalf of women's rights in the Muslim world. That invitation was withdrawn after professors and students protested my criticism of Islam. My subsequent "disinvitation," as it came to be called, was no favor to Muslims—just the opposite. By labeling critical examination of Islam as inherently "racist," we make the chances of reformation far less likely. There are no limits on criticism of Christianity at American universities…or anywhere else for that matter. Why should there be of Islam?
Instead of contorting Western intellectual traditions so as not to offend our Muslim fellow citizens, we need to defend both those traditions and the Muslim dissidents who take great risks to promote them. We should support these brave men and women in every way possible.
Imagine a platform for Muslim dissidents that communicated their message through YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. These are the Muslims we should be supporting—for our sake as much for the sake of Islam.

This shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone, but Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders is having trouble understanding the Constitution, and in this particular case its prohibition against a religious test for public office.
During a confirmation hearing Wednesday for a Office of Management and Budget nominee, Sanders was clearly trying to impose a religious test on a Trump administration nominee.
About halfway through the Senate Budget Committee hearing of nominee Russell Vought, Sanders asked him directly about his Christian faith. His question related to a line taken from a blog post Vought wrote in January of 2016.
“You wrote, ‘Muslims do not simply have a deficient theology. They do not know God because they have rejected Jesus Christ, His Son, and they stand condemned.’ Do you believe that that statement is Islamophobic?” Sanders asked.
“Absolutely not, senator. I’m a Christian, and I believe in a Christian set of principles based on my faith,” Vought replied. “That post, as I stated in the questionnaire to this committee, was to defend my alma mater, Wheaton College, a Christian school that has a statement of faith that includes the centrality of Jesus Christ for salvation, and …”
“I apologize. Forgive me, we just don’t have a lot of time,” Sanders interrupted. “Do you believe people in the Muslim religion stand condemned? Is that your view?”
As Vought attempted to once again explain that he was a Christian, Sanders cut him off, shouting, “I understand you are a Christian, but this country are made of people who are not just — I understand that Christianity is the majority religion, but there are other people of different religions in this country and around the world. In your judgment, do you think that people who are not Christians are going to be condemned?”
“As a Christian, I believe that all individuals are made in the image of God and are worthy of dignity and respect regardless of their religious beliefs. I believe that as a Christian that’s how I should treat all individuals,” Vought responded.
After Vought once again refused to renounce what he wrote in the blog, Sanders said, “I would simply say, Mr. Chairman, that this nominee is really not someone who this country is supposed to be about,” adding that he would be voting against confirming the nomination.
Essentially, Sanders is insisting that anyone who believes there is only one way to salvation (which includes Muslims, by the way) are not fit to serve in public office. While trying to expose Vought as unsuitable for office, Sanders instead revealed it’s him who has an utter disrespect for our nation’s Constitution.
The fact that Vought holds orthodox Christian beliefs and has written about them publicly has no bearing on whether he is an acceptable nominee to work in the Office of Management and Budget, or any other public office for that matter.
Sanders choice to focus on Vought’s public statements regarding the Christian faith shows his staunch opposition to Christians, and should be concerning to anyone who believes in our Constitution and our nation’s heritage of religious liberty.
And to think this man could have been president.

Promoter of Islam, I do not tolerate you. Your feigned or willful ignorance, about Islam, is no longer an excuse. I hold you personally accountable.
I am offended by you. I cannot and will not tolerate a person, who advances an ideology, which teaches the inferiority of women, the killing and hatred of Jews, the execution of homosexuals, the silencing of free speech, forced amputations, the stoning of rape victims, genital mutilation, and the violent overthrow of all non-Islamic governments and civilizations.
Islam is Nazism with a god. And I cannot and will not “coexist” with Nazis. I will not patronize your places of business. I will not hire you. I will not buy your products. I will not support politicians who support you. I will not be your friend. And if I am your neighbor, I will always be suspicious of you and cautious. I want you to feel so uncomfortable in my free country, in my civilized country, that you renounce your allegiance to this savage and fascist ideology or leave.
ISLAM IS THE ENEMY of free speech, of human rights and of Liberty. If you follow Islam, you are my enemy. I encourage you now to leave Islam and take your place among the civilized people of this world. But if you insist on remaining loyal to the brutal savagery of Islam, your enemies will grow faster than can be contained, by an Islamic lobbyist group or the media or any government agency. This is a zero sum game and the Civilized World will win.
ISLAM HAS BEEN AT WAR FOR 1,400 YEARS with freedom and all that is good. But my head is no longer hidden in the sand. I am at war with you. All people who value human rights, freedom and Liberty should be at war with you. And they will be soon enough, because the enemy of Islam is information and we are spreading information faster than you can keep up with. There is no way to put this genie back in the bottle now. The information age will be the death of Islam.
Your 1,400 year reign of terror is coming to an end. And you, promoter of Islam, are on the wrong side of history.
It is time for all civilized people to find the moral clarity and the courage to GET ANGRY and to BECOME INTOLERANT.
You have the ability to do this in a civilized way.
We must not become like the savages whom we oppose – otherwise they win.

Tolerance is overrated. If you promote the Quran, you are the enemy of freedom. And you are my enemy. And any Infidel reading this should know that Islam is your enemy too.
Anything less than intolerance – is cowardice and treason. Intolerance, for those who promote Islam is your moral and patriotic duty – and it is your right.
The enemy of Islam is information. Spread this information. Spread it far. Spread it wide – and spread it like Napalm. The Information Age will be the death of Islam.
Those who love Liberty must rise up in a spirit of intolerance and remove from our free society those who wish to promote Islam. Because the future and Islam simply cannot coexist. For Liberty to remain alive, Islam must die.

ISLAM IS THE ENEMY of free speech, of human rights and of Liberty. If you follow Islam, you are my enemy. I encourage you now to leave Islam and take your place among the civilized people of this world. But if you insist on remaining loyal to the brutal savagery of Islam, your enemies will grow faster than can be contained, by an Islamic lobbyist group or the media or any government agency. This is a zero sum game and the Civilized World will win.
ISLAM HAS BEEN AT WAR FOR 1,400 YEARS with freedom and all that is good. But my head is no longer hidden in the sand. I am at war with you. All people who value human rights, freedom and Liberty should be at war with you. And they will be soon enough, because the enemy of Islam is information and we are spreading information faster than you can keep up with. There is no way to put this genie back in the bottle now. The information age will be the death of Islam.
Your 1,400 year reign of terror is coming to an end. And you, promoter of Islam, are on the wrong side of history.
It is time for all civilized people to find the moral clarity and the courage to GET ANGRY and to BECOME INTOLERANT.
You have the ability to do this in a civilized way.
We must not become like the savages whom we oppose – otherwise they win.
Islam is Nazism with a god. Islam must be stopped. When you support those who advance Islam, you support an ideology that promotes genocide against the unbeliever – as clearly outlined in the Quran.
THE TIME HAS COME TO BOYCOTT THOSE WHO ADVANCE ISLAM. PROMOTER OF ISLAM, I PERSONALLY HOLD YOU ACCOUNTABLE FOR SUPPORTING THIS FASCIST IDEOLOGY.
Tolerance is overrated. If you promote the Quran, you are the enemy of freedom. And you are my enemy. And any Infidel reading this should know that Islam is your enemy too.
Anything less than intolerance – is cowardice and treason. Intolerance, for those who promote Islam is your moral and patriotic duty – and it is your right.
The enemy of Islam is information. Spread this information. Spread it far. Spread it wide – and spread it like Napalm. The Information Age will be the death of Islam.
Those who love Liberty must rise up in a spirit of intolerance and remove from our free society those who wish to promote Islam. Because the future and Islam simply cannot coexist. For Liberty to remain alive, Islam must die.

I was raised a practicing Muslim and remained one for almost half my life. I attended madrassas, that is, Islamic schools, and memorized large parts of the Quran. As a child, I lived in Mecca for a time and frequently visited the Grand Mosque. As a teenager, I sympathized with the Muslim Brotherhood.
At 22 while my family was living in Kenya, my father arranged my marriage to a member of our family clan, a man that I had never met. I ran away, made my way to Holland, studied there and eventually was elected a member of the Dutch parliament. Now I live in the United States.
In short, I have seen Islam from the inside and the outside.
I believe that a reform of Islam is necessary and possible. And only Muslims can make that reform a reality. But we in the West cannot remain on the sidelines as though the outcome of this struggle has nothing to do with us. If the jihadists win and the hope for a reformed Islam dies, the rest of the world will pay a terrible price. The terror attacks in New York, London, Madrid, Paris and many other places are only a preview for what is to come.
For this reason, I believe that it’s foolish to insist, as Western leaders habitually do, that the violent acts committed in the name of Islam can somehow be divorced from the religion itself. For more than a decade, my message has been simple: Islam is not a religion of peace.
When I assert this, I do not mean that Islamic belief makes all Muslims violent. This is manifestly not the case: There are many millions of peaceful Muslims in the world. What I do say is that the call to violence and the justification for it are explicitly stated in the sacred texts of Islam. Moreover, this theologically sanctioned violence is there to be activated by any number of offenses, including but not limited to adultery, blasphemy, homosexuality and apostasy—that is, to leave Islam.
Those who tolerate this intolerance do so at their peril.
As someone who has known what it is to live without freedom, I watch in amazement as those who call themselves liberals and progressives—people who claim to believe so fervently in individual liberty and minority rights—make common cause with the forces in the world that manifestly pose the greatest threats to that very freedom and those very minorities.
In 2014 I was invited to accept an honorary degree from Brandeis University for the work I have done on behalf of women's rights in the Muslim world. I was raised a practicing Muslim and remained one for almost half my life. I attended madrassas, that is, Islamic schools, and memorized large parts of the Quran. As a child, I lived in Mecca for a time and frequently visited the Grand Mosque. As a teenager, I sympathized with the Muslim Brotherhood.
At 22 while my family was living in Kenya, my father arranged my marriage to a member of our family clan, a man that I had never met. I ran away, made my way to Holland, studied there and eventually was elected a member of the Dutch parliament. Now I live in the United States.
In short, I have seen Islam from the inside and the outside.
I believe that a reform of Islam is necessary and possible. And only Muslims can make that reform a reality. But we in the West cannot remain on the sidelines as though the outcome of this struggle has nothing to do with us. If the jihadists win and the hope for a reformed Islam dies, the rest of the world will pay a terrible price. The terror attacks in New York, London, Madrid, Paris and many other places are only a preview for what is to come.
For this reason, I believe that it’s foolish to insist, as Western leaders habitually do, that the violent acts committed in the name of Islam can somehow be divorced from the religion itself. For more than a decade, my message has been simple: Islam is not a religion of peace.
When I assert this, I do not mean that Islamic belief makes all Muslims violent. This is manifestly not the case: There are many millions of peaceful Muslims in the world. What I do say is that the call to violence and the justification for it are explicitly stated in the sacred texts of Islam. Moreover, this theologically sanctioned violence is there to be activated by any number of offenses, including but not limited to adultery, blasphemy, homosexuality and apostasy—that is, to leave Islam.
Those who tolerate this intolerance do so at their peril.
As someone who has known what it is to live without freedom, I watch in amazement as those who call themselves liberals and progressives—people who claim to believe so fervently in individual liberty and minority rights—make common cause with the forces in the world that manifestly pose the greatest threats to that very freedom and those very minorities.
In 2014 I was invited to accept an honorary degree from Brandeis University for the work I have done on behalf of women's rights in the Muslim world. This shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone, but Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders is having trouble understanding the Constitution, and in this particular case its prohibition against a religious test for public office.
During a confirmation hearing Wednesday for a Office of Management and Budget nominee, Sanders was clearly trying to impose a religious test on a Trump administration nominee.
About halfway through the Senate Budget Committee hearing of nominee Russell Vought, Sanders asked him directly about his Christian faith. His question related to a line taken from a blog post Vought wrote in January of 2016.
“You wrote, ‘Muslims do not simply have a deficient theology. They do not know God because they have rejected Jesus Christ, His Son, and they stand condemned.’ Do you believe that that statement is Islamophobic?” Sanders asked.
“Absolutely not, senator. I’m a Christian, and I believe in a Christian set of principles based on my faith,” Vought replied. “That post, as I stated in the questionnaire to this committee, was to defend my alma mater, Wheaton College, a Christian school that has a statement of faith that includes the centrality of Jesus Christ for salvation, and …”
“I apologize. Forgive me, we just don’t have a lot of time,” Sanders interrupted. “Do you believe people in the Muslim religion stand condemned? Is that your view?”
As Vought attempted to once again explain that he was a Christian, Sanders cut him off, shouting, “I understand you are a Christian, but this country are made of people who are not just — I understand that Christianity is the majority religion, but there are other people of different religions in this country and around the world. In your judgment, do you think that people who are not Christians are going to be condemned?”
“As a Christian, I believe that all individuals are made in the image of God and are worthy of dignity and respect regardless of their religious beliefs. I believe that as a Christian that’s how I should treat all individuals,” Vought responded.
After Vought once again refused to renounce what he wrote in the blog, Sanders said, “I would simply say, Mr. Chairman, that this nominee is really not someone who this country is supposed to be about,” adding that he would be voting against confirming the nomination.
Essentially, Sanders is insisting that anyone who believes there is only one way to salvation (which includes Muslims, by the way) are not fit to serve in public office. While trying to expose Vought as unsuitable for office, Sanders instead revealed it’s him who has an utter disrespect for our nation’s Constitution.
The fact that Vought holds orthodox Christian beliefs and has written about them publicly has no bearing on whether he is an acceptable nominee to work in the Office of Management and Budget, or any other public office for that matter.
Sanders choice to focus on Vought’s public statements regarding the Christian faith shows his staunch opposition to Christians, and should be concerning to anyone who believes in our Constitution and our nation’s heritage of religious liberty.
And to think this man could have been president.

The fact that Vought holds orthodox Christian beliefs and has written about them publicly has no bearing on whether he is an acceptable nominee to work in the Office of Management and Budget, or any other public office for that matter.
Sanders choice to focus on Vought’s public statements regarding the Christian faith shows his staunch opposition to Christians, and should be concerning to anyone who believes in our Constitution and our nation’s heritage of religious liberty.
And to think this man could have been president.

Promoter of Islam, I do not tolerate you. Your feigned or willful ignorance, about Islam, is no longer an excuse. I hold you personally accountable.
I am offended by you. I cannot and will not tolerate a person, who advances an ideology, which teaches the inferiority of women, the killing and hatred of Jews, the execution of homosexuals, the silencing of free speech, forced amputations, the stoning of rape victims, genital mutilation, and the violent overthrow of all non-Islamic governments and civilizations.
