As promised, here's my "simplified diy free energy generator" video. Select "HD 1080p" to view all the details of this machine in highest quality. My video was shot at: 53.322062,6.206194 (insert in Google Maps), september 1st, 2012. This is the raw video footage (only inserted some titles).I drove 38 miles to this remote location, it's a nice place to sit, eat and relax and it's not near any buildings. It's easy to build yourself, although it took me 3 tries to get this one working. Please give me feedback if you improve it, so I can create a better version. It's base is a strong neodymium magnet and a self wound coil. The magnet was salvaged from an old harddisk - these are véry strong and easy to find! I tried round earth magnets (18mm Ø and 2mm thick) from eBay but they don't seem to work. Maybe the shape to create the magnetic field isn't right? I think it's not a perpetuum mobile, the power has to come frome an external source.
Maybe zero point? Voltage is stable, even under load, that's promising!

There are no two ways about it - NECA really nailed it with this replica. Following in the footsteps of their much-loved Portal Device replica, their Zero Point Energy Field Manipulator (or more colloquially, "Gravity Gun") replica from Valve's aging-yet-still-amazing Half-Life 2 video game takes things to a whole new level. Attention to detail abounds, from the weathered metal look all across the device to the tiny power gauge and included strip of duct tape that holds it in place during the game.
The lighting effects are more impressive in person than I had expected. One thing to note is that the LEDs at the ends of the three poseable extending arms are orange in color, not white/blue like currently shown in Amazon's product photo. The orange plastic diffuser in the center of the gun does a great job of creating subtle color variances when turned on, giving a very real sense of depth to the lighting. It also looks spectacular from the front of the device.
The only real disappointment is that there is no feature to keep the pulsing light and "humming" sound effect on. Truthfully, I probably wouldn't want the sound constantly going, but it would be very cool to have the ability to keep the pulsing light going constantly. As it stands, the unit just glows a steady orange when turned on with no sound effects unless you press a button.
Speaking of the sound effect buttons, NECA has done a great job of recreating the in-game sounds and doing so with plenty of volume. Aside from the red "on/off" switch on the right-hand side of the device, there is a small button under the main handle of the gun and a larger red button next to the handle on the left. Pressing just the bottom button makes the "shooting" sound, pressing just the left button makes the "grabbing/holding" sound, and pressing both buttons together gives a third sound - the loud "bwoop" that means something in the game is unable to be picked up. The unit also pulses brighter when pressing the buttons.
While NECA makes a separate stand for its Portal Device replica, the Gravity Gun has no such options. Thankfully, NECA had the foresight to know that folks were going to need a way to display this item without resting it on the front arms, and the built in two small flip-out stands in the bottom of the device. They are very unobtrusive when flipped out and blend right in with the rest of the device to the point where you probably won't even notice them. When you're ready for a little cosplay (or scaring the cat in the middle of the night), they flip back up into the gun away and out of sight.
Last but not least, the box this device comes in is pretty impressive itself. Instead of a run-of-the-mill product box, it has been made up to look like some short of shipping crate for the Zero Point Energy Field Manipulator from the fictional Black Mesa labs who invented the device in the video game. It is definitely display worth if you so desired and would make a great base upon which to perch your Gravity Gun proudly.
I've bought a lot of toys, replicas, and figures over the years from movies and games I love, only to later experience a bit of buyer's remorse for paying so much for something that doesn't do much more than just sit there. I feel no such feelings towards this prop. It is glorious. It is beautiful. And if you love Half-Life, it should be yours. Hands down my favorite replica I've bought in the last 5 years, and most highly recommended.

Another great idea for the US Military this new sniper rifle uses advanced technology to ensure the soldier to tomorrow will never miss his target. TrackingPoint is an Austin, Texas-based applied technology company that created the first precision guided firearm (PGF), a long-range rifle system.[1][2]
TrackingPoint was formed by CEO John McHale in February 2011. The first PGF prototype was created in March 2011. The company officially launched a publicly available product in January 2013.[3]
TrackingPoint's precision guided firearms system uses several component technologies:
Networked Tracking Scope: The core engine that tracks the target, calculates range and the ballistic solution, and works in concert with the shooter and guided trigger to release the shot.[4][5]
Barrel Reference System: A fixed reference point that enables the networked tracking scope to make adjustments and retain zero over time. The barrel reference system is factory calibrated to a laser reference.[6]
Guided Trigger: The rifle's trigger is hard-wired to the networked tracking scope. The networked tracking scope controls the trigger weight to eliminate trigger squeeze and shot timing errors.[7]
Field Software Upgradeable: Software can be uploaded to the scope to add capability.[8]

Zero-point energy
Zero-point energy, also called quantum vacuum zero-point energy, is the lowest possible energy that a quantum mechanical physical system may have; it is the energy of its ground state.
All quantum mechanical systems undergo fluctuations even in their ground state and have an associated zero-point energy, a consequence of their wave-like nature. The uncertainty principle requires every physical system to have a zero-point energy greater than the minimum of its classical potential well. This results in motion even at absolute zero. For example, liquid helium does not freeze under atmospheric pressure at any temperature because of its zero-point energy.
The concept of zero-point energy was developed by Max Planck in Germany in 1911 as a corrective term added to a zero-grounded formula developed in his original quantum theory in 1900. The term zero-point energy is a translation from the German Nullpunktsenergie.
Vacuum energy is the zero-point energy of all the fields in space, which in the Standard Model includes the electromagnetic field, other gauge fields, fermionic fields, and the Higgs field. It is the energy of the vacuum, which in quantum field theory is defined not as empty space but as the ground state of the fields. Energy shot
Energy shots are a specialized kind of energy drink that contain a dose of the stimulant caffeine in a small amount of liquid. Whereas most energy drinks are sold in cans or bottles, energy shots are usually sold in 50ml bottles. Energy shots can contain the same total amount of caffeine, vitamins or other functional ingredients as their larger versions, and may be considered concentrated forms of energy drinks. Gravity gun
A gravity gun is a type of device in video games, particularly first-person shooters using an advanced physics engine, whereby players can directly manipulate objects in the world, often allowing them to be used as projectiles against hostile characters. The concept was first popularized by the gravity gun found in Valve's Half-Life 2, as well as the Temporal Uplink found in Free Radical Design's TimeSplitters: Future Perfect; although a similar concept was used by id Software during the production of the earlier game Doom 3, eventually leading to the introduction of a physics-based weapon in the expansion pack Resurrection of Evil. Later games, such as Portal, BioShock, Crysis, and Dead Space, have been influenced by the success of these physics-based weapons, adopting their own styles of comparable abilities or weapons.

Thankfully, NECA had the foresight to know that folks were going to need a way to display this item without resting it on the front arms, and the built in two small flip-out stands in the bottom of the device. They are very unobtrusive when flipped out and blend right in with the rest of the device to the point where you probably won't even notice them. When you're ready for a little cosplay (or scaring the cat in the middle of the night), they flip back up into the gun away and out of sight. Last but not least, the box this device comes in is pretty impressive itself. Instead of a run-of-the-mill product box, it has been made up to look like some short of shipping crate for the Zero Point Energy Field Manipulator from the fictional Black Mesa labs who invented the device in the video game. It is definitely display worth if you so desired and would make a great base upon which to perch your Gravity Gun proudly. I've bought a lot of toys, replicas, and figures over the years from movies and games I love, only to later experience a bit of buyer's remorse for paying so much for something that doesn't do much more than just sit there. I feel no such feelings towards this prop. It is glorious. It is beautiful. And if you love Half-Life, it should be yours. There are no two ways about it - NECA really nailed it with this replica. The lighting effects are more impressive in person than I had expected. One thing to note is that the LEDs at the ends of the three poseable extending arms are orange in color, not white/blue like currently shown in Amazon's product photo. The orange plastic diffuser in the center of the gun does a great job of creating subtle color variances when turned on, giving a very real sense of depth to the lighting. It also looks spectacular from the front of the device.
The only real disappointment is that there is no feature to keep the pulsing light and "humming" sound effect on. Truthfully, I probably wouldn't want the sound constantly going, but it would be very cool to have the ability to keep the pulsing light going constantly. As it stands, the unit just glows a steady orange when turned on with no sound effects unless you press a button.
Speaking of the sound effect buttons, NECA has done a great job of recreating the in-game sounds and doing so with plenty of volume. Aside from the red "on/off" switch on the right-hand side of the device, there is a small button under the main handle of the gun and a larger red button next to the handle on the left. I've bought a lot of toys, replicas, and figures over the years from movies and games I love, only to later experience a bit of buyer's remorse for paying so much for something that doesn't do much more than just sit there. I feel no such feelings towards this prop. It is glorious. It is beautiful. And if you love Half-Life, it should be yours. There are no two ways about it - NECA really nailed it with this replica. Following in the footsteps of their much-loved Portal Device replica, their Zero Point Energy Field Manipulator (or more colloquially, "Gravity Gun") replica from Valve's aging-yet-still-amazing Half-Life 2 video game takes things to a whole new level. Attention to detail abounds, from the weathered metal look all across the device to the tiny power gauge and included strip of duct tape that holds it in place during the game.
The lighting effects are more impressive in person than I had expected. One thing to note is that the LEDs at the ends of the three poseable extending arms are orange in color, not white/blue like currently shown in Amazon's product photo. The orange plastic diffuser in the center of the gun does a great job of creating subtle color variances when turned on, giving a very real sense of depth to the lighting. It also looks spectacular from the front of the device.
The only real disappointment is that there is no feature to keep the pulsing light and "humming" sound effect on. Truthfully, I probably wouldn't want the sound constantly going, but it would be very cool to have the ability to keep the pulsing light going constantly. As it stands, the unit just glows a steady orange when turned on with no sound effects unless you press a button.
Speaking of the sound effect buttons, NECA has done a great job of recreating the in-game sounds and doing so with plenty of volume. Aside from the red "on/off" switch on the right-hand side of the device, there is a small button under the main handle of the gun and a larger red button next to the handle on the left. This is the raw video footage (only inserted some titles).I drove 38 miles to this remote location, it's a nice place to sit, eat and relax and it's not near any buildings. Following in the footsteps of their much-loved Portal Device replica, their Zero Point Energy Field Manipulator (or more colloquially, "Gravity Gun") replica from Valve's aging-yet-still-amazing Half-Life 2 video game takes things to a whole new level. There are no two ways about it - NECA really nailed it with this replica. Following in the footsteps of their much-loved Portal Device replica, their Zero Point Energy Field Manipulator (or more colloquially, "Gravity Gun") replica from Valve's aging-yet-still-amazing Half-Life 2 video game takes things to a whole new level. Attention to detail abounds, from the weathered metal look all across the device to the tiny power gauge and included strip of duct tape that holds it in place during the game.
The lighting effects are more impressive in person than I had expected. One thing to note is that the LEDs at the ends of the three poseable extending arms are orange in color, not white/blue like currently shown in Amazon's product photo. The orange plastic diffuser in the center of the gun does a great job of creating subtle color variances when turned on, giving a very real sense of depth to the lighting. It also looks spectacular from the front of the device.
The only real disappointment is that there is no feature to keep the pulsing light and "humming" sound effect on. Truthfully, I probably wouldn't want the sound constantly going, but it would be very cool to have the ability to keep the pulsing light going constantly. As it stands, the unit just glows a steady orange when turned on with no sound effects unless you press a button.
Speaking of the sound effect buttons, NECA has done a great job of recreating the in-game sounds and doing so with plenty of volume. Aside from the red "on/off" switch on the right-hand side of the device, there is a small button under the main handle of the gun and a larger red button next to the handle on the left. Pressing just the bottom button makes the "shooting" sound, pressing just the left button makes the "grabbing/holding" sound, and pressing both buttons together gives a third sound - the loud "bwoop" that means something in the game is unable to be picked up. The unit also pulses brighter when pressing the buttons.
While NECA makes a separate stand for its Portal Device replica, the Gravity Gun has no such options. Thankfully, NECA had the foresight to know that folks were going to need a way to display this item without resting it on the front arms, and the built in two small flip-out stands in the bottom of the device. They are very unobtrusive when flipped out and blend right in with the rest of the device to the point where you probably won't even notice them. When you're ready for a little cosplay (or scaring the cat in the middle of the night), they flip back up into the gun away and out of sight.
Last but not least, the box this device comes in is pretty impressive itself. Instead of a run-of-the-mill product box, it has been made up to look like some short of shipping crate for the Zero Point Energy Field Manipulator from the fictional Black Mesa labs who invented the device in the video game. It is definitely display worth if you so desired and would make a great base upon which to perch your Gravity Gun proudly.
I've bought a lot of toys, replicas, and figures over the years from movies and games I love, only to later experience a bit of buyer's remorse for paying so much for something that doesn't do much more than just sit there. I feel no such feelings towards this prop. It is glorious. It is beautiful. And if you love Half-Life, it should be yours. Hands down my favorite replica I've bought in the last 5 years, and most highly recommended.
