Brian DePalma's groundbreaking 1968 counterculture film, GREETINGS!, was the very first film to receive an X rating from the newly created MPAA. This is the 1st of 3 compilation clips that show why the film is classic, though they dont include any of the extensive nudity that was the reason for the film's adult classification. DePalma created a sequel in 1970 called "Hi Mom!", which had its own bouts of censorship difficulties with the MPAA, before it was finally granted an R after a few minor cuts. In this first segment, Jon (Robert DeNiro) and Lloyd (Gerrit Graham) try to keep Paul (Jonathan Warden) awake for days on end, so that he will be suitable haggard looking for his upcoming army physical to see if he is fit to be drafted. In the meantime, they instruct him on how to act crazy...
Here we see Robert De Niro in the role of Jon Rubin. This is listed on IMDB as his 3rd movie role. 'Greetings' is a 1968 film directed by Brian De Palma. A satirical film about men avoiding the Vietnam War draft, it features a young Robert De Niro in his first major role. It was the first film to receive an X rating by the MPAA, although it was later given an R rating. De Niro reprised the character of Jon Rubin in the 1970 film 'Hi, Mom!' also directed by De Palma. The film was entered into the 19th Berlin International Film Festival, where it won a Silver Bear award. **I do not own copyright on this clip but have uploaded as a matter of interest without ownership, any copyright issues then please let me know and i will remove, thank you.** **Copyright Disclaimer Under Section 107 of ...

This video was produced on the sidelines of the TC "Youth Trainers for New Media, Environmentalism and Corporate Citizenship" (Muenster, DE). During the second international night the greek team, among tsipouro, raki and a selection of “meze”, offered to the rest of the group a brief visual representation of Greece nowardays, through a small video depicting the contrast that Greece is made of: beauty and distress, peace and fighting, harmony and agony. All photographs by Kariofyllis Gkrozoudis, direction by Athina Mourtiadou. The song selected is from Stavros Xarhakos (“Anabel”, Girls in the sun OST, 1968).

For educational purposes only. Roger Ebert on the film "'The Conversation' comes from another time and place than today’s thrillers, which are so often simple-minded. This movie is a sadly observant character study, about a man who has removed himself from life, thinks he can observe it dispassionately at an electronic remove, and finds that all of his barrier...

Sillishop is selling Michael Decker’s collection of over 500 Sillisculpt figurines, all found at thrift stores. Sillisculpts were initially produced in 1968 by Russ and Wallace Berrie Company. Designed to act as a three-dimensional lasting greeting card, the resin Sillisculpts embodied a multitude of sentiments including, most famously, “I love you this much.” Their quirky caricatures and lasting construction made them a favorite gift and later, a much beloved collectable. Decker’s collection began in 2006, and contains examples of the original Sillis by Russ and Wallace Berrie Co., as well as those manufactured by American Greetings Corp., Animated Toys Incorporated, Gibson Greeting Cards Inc., and C.M. klaus verscheure °1968, Kortrijk, master in animation Brussels CONCEPT / 14 EMOTIONS/Allegoria Via Dolorosa is a contemporary adaptation of the Christian Way of the Cross. This video is stripped of any religious belief, but relies entirely on the iconographic imagery that has been part of World Heritage already for two millennia. 14 EMOTIONS is a video installation on 14 screens. 14 stations that is the filming of 14 tableaux-vivants. The original content of each station is transposed to a single thought: an emotion. IDEA / the basic idea to make this work comes from the fascination for old masterpieces that have determined part of my look that for years had an impact on the 'work' that I brushed and filmed together. The Crucifixion and Deposition of Peter Paul Rubens, Lucas Cranach, An...

Created out of reproductions of original photographs, it is an imaginative and dramatic expression of the feelings, conversations, tastes and even songs connected to those childhood moments.
