Downer may refer to:
Sir John William Downer, KCMG, KC (6 July 1843 – 2 August 1915) was the Premier of South Australia twice, from 16 June 1885 until 11 June 1887 and again from 1892 to 1893. He was the first of three Australian politicians from the Downer family dynasty.
Born in Adelaide, John Downer (the son of Henry Downer who came to South Australia in 1838 and his wife Jane, née Field) was educated on a scholarship at St Peter's College, Adelaide, where he was a brilliant student. Later (23 March 1867), he was admitted to the bar, and soon won a reputation as being among Adelaide's most talented and eloquent lawyers.
Downer became a Queen's Counsel in 1878, the same year in which he was elected to the House of Assembly for Barossa. He represented this constituency until 1901, leaving it only to enter federal politics.
In the House of Assembly he soon made his mark and became Attorney-General in John Cox Bray's cabinet on 24 June 1881. He endeavoured to bring in several law reforms, and though his married women's property bill was not passed, he succeeded in carrying bills allowing accused persons to give evidence on oath, and amending the insolvency and marriage acts. The government was defeated in June 1884, but a year later, on 16 June 1885, Downer himself became Premier for the first time, as well as being Attorney-General once again.

Nobody for sure knows what this song is about but that is how Kurt would have wanted it. But here are some guesses/facts/reviews about "Downer" from songfacts.com : This was Kurt Cobain's attempt at a political song. In the song, Cobain laments on nuclear war, radicals who believe the world is going to end, and other issues. Said Kurt: "I was trying to be Mr. Black Flag Punk-rock guy... I didn't know what I was talking about." This song was included on Nirvana's album Incesticide after it's release on Bleach because it was a song Nirvana rarely played live and Kurt Cobain wanted people to hear it.
Small Cameras, Big Stories Exciting developments in camera technology have levelled out of the playing field between the professional and the amateur and so the battle now for programme makers like award-winning wildlife filmmaker John Downer is having to produce something better than the average person. The difference comes from investing into understanding the behaviour of the animal and devising a way to capture those unique moments, using a huge amount of research, inventiveness and dedication. This has resulted in exceptional and unique technical solutions that tell a story in an new and compelling way. Point of View: The obsession with getting ever closer. What is it like to lay down with lions? How would it feel to swim with dolphins? Or fly like an eagle? John Downer’s award winning films are driven by his personal desire to break into the world of animals and capture moments from unique points of view. Through the use of immersive filmmaking techniques, like spy cameras, John Downer and his team bring the viewer up close and personal with the animals he portrays and reveals the world and lives of them as never seen before. Capturing the animal’s perspective adds a moving emotional level to the stories and leads this wildlife footage away from the observant spectator to a powerful captivating experience. Sign painter John Downer demonstrates the single stroke Speed Stroke. This is a quick demonstration from one of many public workshops at the Type@Cooper Program.
We hired our good friend John Downer, who is a professional sign painter & typographer, to fly to LA to do gold leaf lettering on our store window & transom. Glass gilding is becoming a lost art that only a few dozen people in the United States still know how perform. In this video interview with John, he explains this beautiful process in detail.
These movies were shot at AtypI Conference during John Downer's master class.
In October 2004, John Downer visited the TypeMedia studio and did a workshop on the Speedball pen.
This is two demo's done by journeyman sign painter and type designer John Downer at the Sign Graphics class at Los Angeles Trade Technical College in Downtown Los Angeles, CA on March 5, 2013. The other man speaking in this video momentarily is the Sign Graphics instructor and journeyman sign painter Doc Guthrie. My apologies for the quality of this video. It was recorded with my iphone, it is my first time uploading a video, and I do not do any film editing or modification.

The King Of Queens S4E14 Double Downer
Squeezing your neck til suffocation
Future old enemies
Future old enemies.
Wallow in the shit of another day,
Forced into ingesting the waste of society.
Cut out your tongue in protest
Your voice
Won't make a difference
You weren't meant to succeed
By any means...
That does not mean you're easily beat down
And easily faltered...
It won't make a difference when you're
Lying in a ditch cold.
So far from intelligence it sickens me
Future old enemy
Future old enemy.
Forged into tolls of hypocrisy
Escape with integrity
Future old enemy.
Cut out your tongue in protest
Your voice
Won't make a difference
You weren't meant to succeed
By any means...
That does not mean you're easily beat down
And easily faltered...
It won't make a difference when you're
Lying in a ditch cold.
I can't
Deny
I've more anger than fear
We fear
We lie
Help us save ourselves
I can't
Deny
NO ONE CAN SAVE YOU
No one can save you
No one can save you
No one can save you
