This is my newest recording of the Fantasia #1 from the first part of the Book 'El Maestro' composed by Luis Milán (originally for vihuela de mano).
The recording was done straight to a Tascam DR-40 (r) recorder in its original configuration (no external microphones). The microphones are directed straight (zero degree internal angle). No edits whatsoever. Only a bit of reverb added at misdown (in Cubase 5)
The guitar is made by Sebastian Stenzel.

Luis de Milán
Luis de Milán (also known as Lluís del Milà or Luys Milán) (c. 1500 – c. 1561) was a Spanish Renaissance composer, vihuelist (a forerunner to the baroque guitar), and writer on music. He was the first composer in history to publish music for the vihuela de mano, an instrument employed primarily in the Iberian peninsula and some of the Italian states during the 15th and 16th centuries, and he was also one of the first musicians to specify verbal tempo indications in his music.
He probably lived all his life in Valencia, though details are sketchy at best. He seems to have been employed by the ducal court until around 1538. In 1535 he published his first book, a parlor game with music, entitled El juego de mandar; in the next year he published what was to be his most important book, Libro de música de vihuela de mano intitulado El maestro. This book was dedicated to King John III of Portugal; this dedication, and the existence of six villancicos which Milán wrote in Portuguese, suggest that he may have traveled to that country and spent some time there.

Milan
Milan (English /mᵻˈlæn/ or US /məˈlɑːn/;Lombard, Milanese variant: Milan [miˈlã]),Italian: Milano [miˈlaːno]), the second-most populous city in Italy, is the capital of Lombardy. The city proper has a population of about 1.3 million, while its urban area (the 5th-largest in the EU) comprises an estimated 5 million people (former Provinces of Milan and Monza-Brianza, with other Comuni included in the former Province of Varese). The enormous suburban sprawl that followed the post-war boom of the 1950s–1960s has resulted in a polycentric metropolitan area, known as Greater Milan, of 7 to 10 million people, stretching over the provinces of Milan, Bergamo, Como, Lecco, Lodi, Monza and Brianza, Pavia, Varese and Novara. The Milan metropolitan region is part of the so-called Blue Banana, the area of Europe with the highest population and industrial density. In terms of GDP, Milan has the third largest economy among EU cities (after London and Paris) and the largest among European non-capital cities.

Pedro Albizu Campos
Pedro Albizu Campos (September 12, 1891– April 21, 1965) was a Puerto Rican attorney and politician, and the leading figure in the Puerto Rican independence movement. Gifted in languages, he spoke six; graduating from Harvard Law School with the highest grade point average in his law class, an achievement that earned him the right to give the valedictorian speech at his graduation ceremony. However, animus towards his mixed racial heritage would lead to his professors delaying two of his final exams in order to keep Albizu Campos from graduating on time. During his time at Harvard University he became involved in the Irish struggle for independence.
Albizu Campos was the president and spokesperson of the Puerto Rican Nationalist Party from 1930 until his death in 1965. Because of his oratorical skill, he was hailed as El Maestro (The Teacher). He was imprisoned twenty-six years for attempting to overthrow the United States government in Puerto Rico.
In 1950, he planned and called for armed uprisings in several cities in Puerto Rico on behalf of independence. Afterward he was convicted and imprisoned again. He died in 1965 shortly after his pardon and release from federal prison, some time after suffering a stroke. There is controversy over his medical treatment in prison.

[La Música en Carlos V]
"Carlos V recibió una educación musical acorde con su condición de soberano: exquisita y completa; estas cualidades hicieron que su capilla musical ejemplificara la grandeza del soberano, y que ciertos músicos asalariados suyos de gran prestigio como Cabezón fueran el baluarte de su poder cultural.
En cuanto a su propia formación musical, ésta fue lo bastante amplia en su juventud como para poder escoger los futuros músicos de su capilla y formar la primera capilla hispano-flamenca con lo mejor de su época. La formación musical básica vino de la mano de su propia familia: su padre Felipe el Hermoso, su tía y primera tutora Margarita de Austria, y su profesor Enrique de Bredemers. Desde que salió para proclamarse rey de España en 1517, llevó consigo su capilla flamenco-borgoña -de Bruselas-, dirigidos por el músico Nicolás Gombert, que se especializaría en repertorio musical vocal polifónico; en cambio, para la creación y ejecución de música instrumental, creó otra capilla compuesta exclusivamente por músicos españoles, adscritos a la casa real de Castilla.
Con su matrimonio con Isabel de Portugal se llegó a constituir una nueva capilla musical formada por cantores y ministriles portugueses y españoles, que fue asimilada con la ya existente en la corte real de Madrid y que había pertenecido a la madre de Carlos I, la reina Juana la Loca. Músicos españoles destacados de esta nueva capilla fueron el organista Antonio de Cabezón y el maestro Mateo Fernández, el clavicordista Francisco Santiago Pérez, el afinador Aloi, los cantores Lope de Armento, Martín López, Antón, Zorita, Arellano y Espinosa y los compositores José Bernal y Jorge de Montemayor.

Die musikalische Leitung hat Daniel Barenboim.

Die „Messa da Requiem“ gehört unbestreitbar zu den Meisterwerken Giuseppe Verdis. Die vorliegende monumentale Fassung wurde im Teatro alla Scala in Mailand fürs Fernsehen aufgezeichnet, der Stadt, wo die geistliche Komposition 1874 uraufgeführt wurde. Zu hören sind herausragende Solisten wie Anja Harteros, Elina Garanca, Jonas Kaufmann und René Pape. Die musikalische Leitung hat Daniel Barenboim.
Orchester und Chor der Scala haben das Verdi-Requiem bereits oftmals interpretiert und sind deshalb geübt im Umgang mit diesem Werk. Am Dirigentenpult steht diesmal Daniel Barenboim, der gemeinsam mit den herausragenden Solisten eine kompromisslose Interpretation liefert. Das Konzert weckt beim Zuhörer das Gefühl, fast live einer geschichtsträchtigen Aufführung beizuwohnen, die auf einer Stufe mit der legendären Einspielung unter Herbert von Karajan in den 60er Jahren steht.

Die „Messa da Requiem“ gehört unbestreitbar zu den Meisterwerken Giuseppe Verdis. Die vorliegende monumentale Fassung wurde im Teatro alla Scala in Mailand fürs Fernsehen aufgezeichnet, der Stadt, wo die geistliche Komposition 1874 uraufgeführt wurde. Zu hören sind herausragende Solisten wie Anja Harteros, Elina Garanca, Jonas Kaufmann und René Pape. Die musikalische Leitung hat Daniel Barenboim.
Orchester und Chor der Scala haben das Verdi-Requiem bereits oftmals interpretiert und sind deshalb geübt im Umgang mit diesem Werk. Am Dirigentenpult steht diesmal Daniel Barenboim, der gemeinsam mit den herausragenden Solisten eine kompromisslose Interpretation liefert. Das Konzert weckt beim Zuhörer das Gefühl, fast live einer geschichtsträchtigen Aufführung beizuwohnen, die auf einer Stufe mit der legendären Einspielung unter Herbert von Karajan in den 60er Jahren steht.

The concerto number 1 in G minor by Max BRUCH was first completed in 1866 and the first performance was given on 24 April 1866 by Otto von Königslow with Bruch himself conducting. The concerto was then considerably revised with help from celebrated violinist Joseph Joachim and completed in its present form in 1867. The premiere of the revised concerto was given by Joachim in Bremen on 5 January 1868 with Karl Martin Rheinthaler conducting.

Acclaimed as "a player of impressive authority and presence" (The Strad), Yossif Ivanov has quickly established himself after winning major prizes at top competitions at a very young age: First Prize at the Montreal International Competition aged 16, and Second Prize, as well as the Public Prize, two years later at the Queen Elisabeth Competition, Brussels.

With fellow Belgian violinists Lorenzo Gatto and Hrachya Avanesyan, Yossif formed the ensemble Trilogy, presenting classical masterworks alongside film music and jazz standards across Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
Yossif Ivanov's recording catalogue boasts high critical acclaim, including a Diapason d'Or de l'Année for his collection of Belgian sonatas (Franck, D'Haene and Ysaÿe) on the Ambroisie/Naïve label, for which he recorded two further discs with orchestra: Bartók, Chostakovich and Dutilleux/D'Haene, which were both very well received. His next recording will present the complete works of Prokofiev for violin and piano with David Kadouch.
Yossif studied the violin with Zakhar Bron, Igor & Valery Oistrakh and Augustin Dumay. Since 2008, he has taught violin at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, the youngest person to ever do so.
Yossif Ivanov plays on the 1699 "Lady Tennant" Stradivarius, kindly lent by the Stradivarius Society of Chicago.

Si queremos oír la voz de Dios necesitamos tomar la decisión de hacer lo que Él nos diga. No se trata de, “háblame Señor y yo decido si hago o no lo que me está...
Si queremos oír la voz de Dios necesitamos tomar la decisión de hacer lo que Él nos diga. No se trata de, “háblame Señor y yo decido si hago o no lo que me estás diciendo” sino de, “yo ya tomé la decisión de obedecerte”. En Juan 10:27 Jesús dijo: “Mis ovejas escuchan mi voz; yo las conozco, y ellas me siguen”.
Cosas que tenemos que hacer para oír la voz de Dios:
• ALEJARNOS DE TODO: estar a solas y eliminar, toda distracción y todo ruido. En Jeremías 23:22 el Señor dice acerca de los profetas:“Si hubieran estado en mi presencia (en mi secreto) y me hubieran escuchado, habrían hablado mis palabras”.
• ESPERAR: el afán mata la oración. Dios le habla a los que saben esperar, a los que toman tiempo para escuchar su voz. En el Salmo 46:10, Dios dice: “¡Quédense quietos y sepan que yo soy Dios!”.
Esperar significa calmar nuestros pensamientos. Cuando nos sentamos a orar, a nuestra mente llegan pensamientos, tareas y responsabilidades. Esto es algo que hace el enemigo para que no oigamos a Dios. Lo que podemos hacer es escribir todo lo que llega a nuestra mente y lugo llevar esos pensamientos cautivos a nuestra obediencia a Cristo (2 Corintios 10:5).
Para que nuestra mente sea sensible a la voz de Dios también podemos poner alabanza y adoraciónl. Lo siguiente que tenemos que hacer es silenciar las heridas emocionales, es decir, perdonar.
• LEER LA PALABRA: la voluntad de Dios está escrita la Biblia. Dios nunca va a contradecir lo que ha dicho en su Palabra. En lugar de tratar de oír una voz, lo que tenemos que hacer es leer la Biblia y buscar un versículo que Dios use para hablarnos.
• ESCRIBIR: poner en papel las ideas que recibimos en nuestro tiempo de oración. Si nuestra vida de oración se convirtió en una rutina, necesitamos escribir las oraciones, eso fue lo que hizo David y gracias a eso tenemos el libro de los Salmos.
• SOÑAR O VISUALIZAR: permitir que Dios nos de una imagen mental. En la Biblia encontramos muchos casos en donde Dios habló por medio de una visión.
• ALABAR: es expresar con alabanza nuestra gratitud y amor hacia él.
ORAR ES CONVERSAR CON DIOS
Orar es hablar con Dios, hacerle una pregunta y esperar su respuesta. Siempre decimos que no tenemos religión sino relación, pero es imposible tener una relación con alguien si no tenemos una conversación con esa persona. Orar es conversar con Dios.
Moisés conversó con Dios por eso fue conocido como el amigo de Dios. En Éxodo 33:17 Dios le dice a Moisés:
—Está bien, haré lo que me pides —le dijo el Señor a Moisés—, pues cuentas con mi favor y te considero mi amigo.
