Milan (English /mᵻˈlæn/ or US /məˈlɑːn/;Lombard, Milanese variant: Milan [miˈlã]),Italian: Milano [miˈlaːno]), the second-most populous city in Italy, is the capital of Lombardy. The city proper has a population of about 1.3 million, while its urban area (the 5th-largest in the EU) comprises an estimated 5 million people (former Provinces of Milan and Monza-Brianza, with other Comuni included in the former Province of Varese). The enormous suburban sprawl that followed the post-war boom of the 1950s–1960s has resulted in a polycentric metropolitan area, known as Greater Milan, of 7 to 10 million people, stretching over the provinces of Milan, Bergamo, Como, Lecco, Lodi, Monza and Brianza, Pavia, Varese and Novara. The Milan metropolitan region is part of the so-called Blue Banana, the area of Europe with the highest population and industrial density. In terms of GDP, Milan has the third largest economy among EU cities (after London and Paris) and the largest among European non-capital cities.
Porco Rosso (Japanese: 紅の豚, Hepburn: Kurenai no Buta, lit. Crimson Pig) is a 1992 Japanese animated comedy-adventure film written and directed by Hayao Miyazaki. It is based on Hikōtei Jidai, a three-part watercolor manga by Miyazaki. The film stars the voices of Shūichirō Moriyama, Tokiko Kato, Akemi Okamura and Akio Ōtsuka. Toshio Suzuki produced the film for Studio Ghibli. Joe Hisaishi composed the music.
The plot revolves around an Italian World War I ex-fighter ace, now living as a freelance bounty hunter chasing "air pirates" in the Adriatic Sea. However, an unusual curse has transformed him into an anthropomorphic pig. Once called Marco Pagot (Marco Rossolini in the American version), he is now known to the world as "Porco Rosso", Italian for "Red Pig".
Porco Rosso, a veteran WWI fighter ace and freelance bounty hunter, responds to an alert over an attack on a ferry liner by airborne pirates. Having successfully defeated the airborne pirates, Porco treats himself to a good dinner at the Hotel Adriano, which is run by his long-time friend Gina.

Porco Rosso Trailer / 紅の豚 予告編 Porco Rosso is a veteran WWI fighter pilot turned bounty hunter, who has been transformed into an anthropomorphic pig through a rare curse. He was once known as Marco Pagot while still in his human form, but took up a new alias which suits his current image better, "Red Pig." At the beginning of Kurenai no Buta, Porco is reunited with his long-time friend Gina at a hotel, and unexpectedly falls in love with her. Despite his strange form, Gina shows him all the affection that she can muster. But Porco has a love rival to deal with. An American ace fighter named Curtis is also after Gina's heart, and although she rejects his proposals, he is not about to let her go so easily. During his return flight to Milan, Curtis sneaks up behind Porco's plane and shoots hi...
Waste collection #1 #2 #3 Triennale Design Museum Milano 2014 Scrap, consumption, waste, collection, trace. Chiara Capellini showcases a long process of studies, journeys, and obsessive research of vestiges left by humankind. Vestiges as fragments of a transit – accidental or voluntary –, of an action carried out with a clear purpose, now normal and out of control, the purpose of a series production for consumption. Capellini's path is clear and tangible. It is divided into 3 working levels, bound up with one another due to the natural inclination of the artist, who is an inquiring and impetuous observer of the tiniest details surrounding each daily action whether or not it is hers. From a random action some years ago, from which the first series showcased was born, she has increasingl...
Barovier&Toso; is proud to present an astonishing event, a journey to the edge of reality thanks to Marcel Wanders during the Milan Design Week 2014. An installation that is the fruit of imagination - fantasy, in film parlance -- that holds our hand and accompanies us into a magical world full of surprises, the very fabric of fairy tales and magic. Where everything is itself and its opposite, because they move according to unpredictable laws and almost miraculously comes to life. A theatrical spectacle -- because spectacular is the only way to define the cloisters of the Basilica of San Simpliciano, which are transformed for the occasion into a wonderland courtyard filled with chandeliers reconfigured with anthropomorphic features: a mixture of forms that surprise and unsettle, because they...

http://videomakerinsubria.blogspot.com/ Un documentario sui celti Insubri e sugli usi e costumi dell'antica tribù che fondò la città di Milano. The tribe of Insubres placed between today's Lombardy and Canton Ticino (Swiss), was one of the largest Celtic tribe populating a big part of northern Italy's territories. We know from Tito Livio, historical of the I° century. BC., the story that around the seventh century BC Belloveso, a celtic prince, came in a place where was living a tribe with the same name of an Edui's tribe, who was after him: this name was Insubres. He decided to found a village in those lands, and questioned 7 wise druids, who consulted the oracle to get a response to tell him where to place the first stone. The answer was that seeing a semi-walled sow wou...

Milan - Italy Travel Guide, Vacation, Tourism World Travel https://www.youtube.com/user/World1Tube Milan - Italy Travel Guide, Vacation http://goo.gl/PbEjrR With something almost Northern European in the air, yet exuding Italian style, Milan is Italy's most cosmopolitan city. Situated on the flat plains of the Po Valley, the capital of Lombardy is both hardworking and glamorous - powerful in businesses from finance to fashion and, of course, football. But what gives Milan its certain something is its status as the epicentre of Italian fashion and interior design. International fashionistas, designers, supermodels and paparazzi descend upon the city twice a year for its spring and autumn fairs. Valentino, Versace and Armani may design and manufacture their clothes elsewhere, but Milan, whi...
