Milan (English /mᵻˈlæn/ or US /məˈlɑːn/;Lombard, Milanese variant: Milan [miˈlã]),Italian: Milano [miˈlaːno]), the second-most populous city in Italy, is the capital of Lombardy. The city proper has a population of about 1.3 million, while its urban area (the 5th-largest in the EU) comprises an estimated 5 million people (former Provinces of Milan and Monza-Brianza, with other Comuni included in the former Province of Varese). The enormous suburban sprawl that followed the post-war boom of the 1950s–1960s has resulted in a polycentric metropolitan area, known as Greater Milan, of 7 to 10 million people, stretching over the provinces of Milan, Bergamo, Como, Lecco, Lodi, Monza and Brianza, Pavia, Varese and Novara. The Milan metropolitan region is part of the so-called Blue Banana, the area of Europe with the highest population and industrial density. In terms of GDP, Milan has the third largest economy among EU cities (after London and Paris) and the largest among European non-capital cities.
Rai — Radiotelevisione italiana S.p.A. (pronounced [ˈrai ˌradjoteleviˈzjoːne itaˈljaːna]; commercially styled Rai; known until 1954 as Radio Audizioni Italiane) is Italy's national public broadcasting company, owned by the Ministry of Economy and Finance.
RAI operates many DVB and Sat television channels and radio stations, broadcasting via digital terrestrial transmission (15 television and 7 radio channels nationwide) and from several satellite platforms. It is the biggest television broadcaster in Italy and competes with Mediaset, Sky Italia, and other minor television and radio networks. RAI has a relatively high television audience share of 33.8%.
RAI's broadcasts are also received in neighboring countries, including Albania, Croatia, Malta, Monaco, Montenegro, San Marino, Slovenia, Vatican City and southern Switzerland, and elsewhere on cable and satellite.
Half of RAI's revenues come from broadcast receiving licence fees, the rest from the sale of advertising time.
In 1950, RAI became one of the 23 founding broadcasting organizations of the European Broadcasting Union.
This article is about the Italian radio station Radio 1. For other radio stations of that name, see Radio 1 (disambiguation).
Rai Radio 1 (radio uno) is an Italian radio channel operated by the state-owned public-broadcasting organization RAI and specializing in news, sports, talk programmes, and popular music.
The channel is the direct descendant of the first radio station to operate in Italy, which began its transmissions from Rome on 6 October 1924. This station, call sign 1-RO, was operated by the privately owned Unione Radiofonica Italiana (URI). In 1927 this company was absorbed by the state-owned Ente Italiano per le Audizioni Radiofoniche (EIAR) which from that date became the only authorized radio broadcaster in Italy.
The EIAR was renamed Radio Audizioni Italiane (RAI) in 1944 and as part of the reconstruction and improvement of the surviving transmitter network following World War II, radio broadcasting was reorganized (with effect from 3 November 1946) to provide two national channels covering most of the country. The first channel was known as the Rete Rossa (red network) and the second as the Rete Azzurra (blue network). These "neutral" names were chosen to imply that, while at any one time each channel aimed to provide programming of a contrasting style to that available on the other, the two channels were nominally equal in status and had an equally wide-ranging remit.
Radio 1 or Radio One most commonly refers to:
Radio 1 or Radio One may also refer to:
Radio is the use of radio waves is to carry information, such as sound, by systematically modulating some property of electromagnetic energy waves transmitted through space, such as their amplitude, frequency, phase, or pulse width. When radio waves strike an electrical conductor, the oscillating fields induce an alternating current in the conductor. The information in the waves can be extracted and transformed back into its original form.
Radio systems need a transmitter to modulate (change) some property of the energy produced to impress a signal on it, for example using amplitude modulation or angle modulation (which can be frequency modulation or phase modulation). Radio systems also need an antenna to convert electric currents into radio waves, and vice versa. An antenna can be used for both transmitting and receiving. The electrical resonance of tuned circuits in radios allow individual stations to be selected. The electromagnetic wave is intercepted by a tuned receiving antenna. A radio receiver receives its input from an antenna and converts it into a form usable for the consumer, such as sound, pictures, digital data, measurement values, navigational positions, etc. Radio frequencies occupy the range from a 3 kHz to 300 GHz, although commercially important uses of radio use only a small part of this spectrum.

I don't want to talk to you
And tell you silly lies
But I've done things that'll turn your head
And make a grown man cry
I've danced down in the jungle to the
Pounding tribal beat
I was on the first manned space ship hiding
Underneath the seat
I washed my feet with royalty
Had a curry in Madras drank a 34 Dom Perignon
From a thousand year old glass
But you, made a fool out of me
You, (million dollar ride)
You made a fool out of me
You, (million dollar ride)
You only wanted money
You only wanted money
People call me genius had women kiss my feet
Seen the temple of Diana and I surfed on Bondi Beach
Played the Sydney opera house
Lit the flame for charriots of fire
I climbed the Himalayas cause you
Know there's nothing higher
Made love out in a penthouse
Underneath a New York sky
I gambled in Las Vegas
And man I bled them dry
But you, made a fool out of me
You, (million dollar ride)
You made a fool out of me
You, (million dollar ride)
You only wanted money
You only wanted money
I have searched for fortunes
Rode out on the glory trail
Been arrested in Vancouver
Let me out on bail
I played with Jimi Hendrix on the
Bill at the Isle Of White
I chauffeured for Madonna
World tour every night
I lived next door to Elvis in those
Very early days, before hound dog and blue swede shoes
We went our seperate ways
But you, made a fool out of me
You, (million dollar ride)
You made a fool out of me
You, (million dollar ride)
You only wanted money
You only wanted money
