KPMG is a professional service company, being one of the Big Four auditors, along with Deloitte, EY and PwC.
Seated in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, KPMG employs 174,000 people and has three lines of services: audit, tax, and advisory. Its tax and advisory services are further divided into various service groups.
The name "KPMG" was chosen when KMG (Klynveld Main Goerdeler) merged with Peat Marwick.
The firm's history dates back to 1870 when William Barclay Peat joined an accounting firm in London and took it over, as William Barclay Peat & Co., in 1891. In 1877 accountancy firm Thomson McLintock opened an office in Glasgow.
Meanwhile, in 1917 Piet Klijnveld opened his accounting firm in Amsterdam. Later he merged with Kraayenhof to form Klynveld Kraayenhof & Co.
In 1925 William Barclay Peat & Co. and Marwick Mitchell & Co. (a firm founded by James Marwick and Roger Mitchell in New York), merged to form Peat Marwick Mitchell & Company (later known simply as Peat Marwick).

KPMG commissioned this video to give helpful tips and tricks for graduates entering the interview process. Between ourselves and KPMG we devised and scripted the story and then filmed and edited the piece, which was used to help graduate achieve interview success. The video was broken into several sections each detailing different aspect that Interviewees should focus on, such as first impressions, competency, career motivation, closing the Interview. Arcade Creative group worked closely with The Mill to create KPMG’s promotional video, “We Shape History” for their new “We Shape History” campaign. The film highlights three key time periods as examples of KPMG’s influence over the path of history since the start of the company, which dates back to 1870. Starting with archival footage of the Lend-Lease act being signed by President Franklin Roosevelt in 1941, which was enacted by KPMG to help the allies win WWII, the film continues by using newspaper articles and footage featuring the aftermath of the Iranian hostage crisis in 1979. The story of how KPMG South Africa was called upon to certify the election of Nelson Mandela is shown through animated crowds and old television reels of the era to close the piece. Luxx designed over 50 individual style frames for the KPMG annual Partners Conference. The boards were used as foundation and resource for a six minute infographic animation created at TWP. A selection of style frames and sample of clips from the final animation are showcased above. Directed by Tex Whitney and produced by Victoria Sangster at the TWP studios in Sydney, Australia.
