FLAMIN' GROOVIES - KEYSTONE, BERKELEY (1980)
Back from a spring tour in Germany and a performance at the Rockpalast, the Groovies were back in the U.S.A. They started recording a new album at the Goldstar Studios but they ran out of money and they returned to San Francisco. In December they played at The Keystone in Berkeley opening with a stunning version of Derek & The Dominos' "
Tell The Truth", but the set was really heavy with covers - no less than seven Beatles' numbers and only one Jordan-Wilson tune, the perennial "
Shake Some Action" - therefore increasing Chris Wilson frustration.
Special note: This "Back in the USA" Concert (a fair audience source) was given to me some years ago in lossless format. As it an audience recording, it is shared in lossy format only. I made a special artwork for the blog
