LINKS DOWN

As you may have noticed, plenty of links are down. I can't re-up everything, but i will try to actualize broken links when i get a message. Don't expect it will be done in a minute, but i'll do my best. Let's give a try with media "feuer" (that's german for fire), even though i have to split the files in 200mb parts, but concurrent downloads are allowed.

Note: The Will Birch's C90 has been re-upped in mp3 & FLAC.

Notes: (about Two of Four)
On the sleeve "Complicated Shadows" is listed as the Cashbox Version, the demo version was included on the German version of this release, not on the UK limited edition. This German release contains correct Cashbox Version of "Complicated Shadows". Here are a few tips to help distinguish this release from the UK version:

The packaging of both versions is VERY similar. The only difference on the sleeve are the characters LC 0392 WE C795 which are printed in small black letters on the back, under the listing of the track "Complicated Shadows", and to the right of 'Licensed by GEMA'. Other than this the sleeves are identical. Don't be mislead by the 'Made in Germany' text at the very bottom of the sleeve on the back - both versions say this.

If you are able to examine the CD itself then there are a couple of differences here. Most noticable is that the yellow & blue picture on the CD goes right up to the centre hole on the UK version, while on the German copy the centre piece of plastic (about 1 1/2" in diameter) is clear. This is slightly confusing because the other 3 UK maxis in the set have this clear centre piece as well. The UK CD is pressed by DISCTRONICS, and has this printed around the inner ring on the silver side of the disc. The German version has WME & IPPI instead. See here

PATTI SMITH - HEY JOE (Version) (1974)

Very RARE first PATTI SMITH 7" MONO

Patti Smith's version of "Hey Joe" is unique in that she includes a brief and salacious monologue about fugitive heiress Patty Hearst and her kidnapping and participation with the Symbionese Liberation Army. Smith's version portrays Patty Hearst as Joe with a "gun in her hand".

"Piss Factory" is a protopunk song written by Patti Smith and Richard Sohl. In 1989, Dave Marsh placed the song on the list of The 1001 Greatest Singles Ever Made.

Special note: This vinyl rip was made in 24 bit/96khz then dithered and resampled to 16bit/44.1khz with iZotope RX 2. It is now available in both lossy and lossless versions and comes with all the scans of the original 7" single.

LATEST NEWS

Here are the news, most of the PPC links are dead - i mean the links with mega, multi and maybe a few other ones. But, today it occurred to me that RS was also capping all the free users to 30kb/s in order to make more money with some new premium accounts. As, i don't want to play that game, the future of PPC doesn't look so bright as it used to be. PPC was only here for spreading the word of a small niche called POWER POP. So....if you know a smart solution, please tell me.

SURRENDERS - RELEASE (1989)

In 1984, Michel Bonneval (Gamine, Action Shakers), Jean-Michel Daulon (Gamine, Action Shakers), Laurence Labasor (Action Shakers) and François Labaye (Boom Boom Desperados) formed the Surrenders, a french quartet from Toulouse (France).

In 1986, the Surrenders released their first mini album "Stay Overnight" produced by Robin Wills (Barracudas, Fortunate Sons), (it will be also released in 1987 in Spain with a different artwork). They received critical acclaim and Australia's Rubber Records then released "Loaded Dice" c/w "Cinnamon Girl" as a single in 1988.

Flamin' Groovies, Barracudas, Byrds and Love are the main influences that can be heard on their two mini albums. "Every Day Every Night" and "Pick me Up" are two outstanding Groovies-esque tunes.

Back in studio, the Surrenders with the help of Robin Wills again, released their last mini album in 1989 on Spank Records (a subsidiary of New Rose Records). They split in 1994.

"Stay Overnight" is still available on digivinyltal or is streamed on the Surrenders fanclub blog.

Special note: This vinyl rip was made in 24 bit/96khz then dithered and resampled to 16bit/44.1khz with iZotope RX 2. It is now available in both lossy and lossless versions and comes with all the scans of the original 12" mini LP.
