THE FEEDBACKS - EL LOCO CLUB (2011)

On tour promoting their newly released album, "Give A Tree Your Name", the Feedbacks were recorded live in Valencia at El Loco Club. A soundboard recording courtesy of the Alta Tension association. These catchy tunes confirm the Feedbacks as the Kings of Spanish Power Pop. You can listen to their sixth album on bandcamp and purchase it from Rock Indiana.

Special note: I got the show from a spanish mate at the Alta Tension association and i made a special artwork for the PPC blog.

THOSE BYRDS HAVE FLOWN (A Byrdsian Tribute) (2011)

"Although they only attained the huge success of the Fab Four and Brian's band for a short time in the mid-'60s, time has judged the Byrds to be nearly as influential as those groups in the long run. The jangling, 12-string guitar sound of leader Jim McGuinn's Rickenbacker has been permanently absorbed into the vocabulary of rock. The Byrds influenced Dylan and the Moptops almost as much as Bob and the Fab Four had influenced the Byrds. The Byrds' innovations have echoed nearly as strongly through subsequent generations, in the work of innumerable bands that feature those jangling guitars and dense harmonies".Richie Unterberger

So, after the Beatlesque collections (2007 and 2011) and the Brian Wilsonesque compilation, this is my first tribute to the sound of the jangling guitars of the Byrds.

Special note: This Byrdsian tribute comes with the usual set of PPC artwork (booklet + tray, inner, inlay and disc)

28th DAY - 28th DAY (1985)

28th Day, a pretty good guitar-pop band of the kind that was so common in the mid-'80s, released a single seven-song mini-album in the US during its existence. The group's main significance, as the packaging of the 1992 edition makes clear, was as Barbara Manning's first band (she played bass; guitarist Cole Marquis wrote most of the songs but drummer Michael Cloward co-wrote a couple).

The mini album produced by Russ Tolman, was expanded by Innerstate in 2003, and this CD is really tricky to find. Cole Marquis has released several albums since.

Special note: This vinyl rip was made in 24 bit/96khz then dithered and resampled to 16bit/44.1khz with iZotope RX 2. It is now available in both lossy and lossless versions and comes with the usual set of jewel case artwork.
