Art Director – Third Millennium

£ Competitive depending on experience – Central London

Third Millennium, the illustrated non-fiction imprint of leading independent publisher Profile Books is looking for a new art director. The successful applicant will have:

  • Over five years’ experience working on book design
  • A proven record of project management and an ability to work across a wide range of different projects simultaneously
  • Excellent freelance contacts and experience of commissioning and managing freelance designers
  • Ideas for new formats, finishes and packaging
  • Experience of building client relationships and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ideally experience of branding and website design
  • The role will involve both art direction and design, so a great eye for both is essential

Internships at Profile Books & Serpent’s Tail

We run an eight-week, full time paid internship for which we seek talented, motivated candidates who are interested in a career in publishing. We offer an extensive training in the fundamentals of publishing as well as in good general office practice. Profile Books is a Living Wage Employer and we pay all interns the London Living Wage.
The internship covers all publishing areas including administration, publicity, marketing and editorial.
We ask that you are:
• Computer literate
• Have plenty of stamina
• Self-motivated
• Able to stay level headed in stressful situations
• Organised and able to pay attention to detail
• Keen to pursue a career in publishing

The Profile internship is a graduate scheme and all studies must be completed before you apply.
