The story of 'Rhythm' is about a reporter Karthik (Arjun), who falls for a bank employee Chitra (Meena), and their troubles in expressing their love for each other. Each of them is trying to recuperate from the agony of losing their spouses in a terrifying train accident. Things seem to settle for them, and when they are about to marry, Chitra's mother-in-law (Lakshmi) walks into her life. Old, widowed and having lost her only son, she has no one but Chitra to fall back on. Chitra is in a dilemma. Will she be able to talk to her mother-in-law about Karthik, or will she decide to continue living with her mother-in-law?

Rhythm
Rhythm (from Greek ῥυθμός, rhythmos, "any regular recurring motion, symmetry" (Liddell and Scott 1996)) generally means a "movement marked by the regulated succession of strong and weak elements, or of opposite or different conditions" (Anon. 1971, 2537). This general meaning of regular recurrence or pattern in time can apply to a wide variety of cyclical natural phenomena having a periodicity or frequency of anything from microseconds to millions of years.
In the performance arts rhythm is the timing of events on a human scale; of musical sounds and silences, of the steps of a dance, or the meter of spoken language and poetry. Rhythm may also refer to visual presentation, as "timed movement through space" (Jirousek 1995, ) and a common language of pattern unites rhythm with geometry. In recent years, rhythm and meter have become an important area of research among music scholars. Recent work in these areas includes books by Maury Yeston (Yeston 1976), Fred Lerdahl and Ray Jackendoff, Jonathan Kramer, Christopher Hasty (Hasty 1997), Godfried Toussaint (Toussaint 2005), William Rothstein, and Joel Lester (Lester 1986).

Katy Perry
Katheryn Elizabeth "Katy" Hudson (born October 25, 1984), known professionally as Katy Perry, is an American singer, songwriter, and actress. After singing in church during her childhood, she pursued a career in gospel music as a teenager. Perry signed with Red Hill Records and released her debut studio album Katy Hudson in 2001, which was commercially unsuccessful. She moved to Los Angeles the following year to venture into secular music after Red Hill ceased operations. After being dropped by The Island Def Jam Music Group and Columbia Records, Perry signed a recording contract with Capitol Records in April 2007.
Perry rose to fame in 2008 with the release of the singles "I Kissed a Girl" – which sparked controversy for its homosexual themes – and "Hot n Cold" from her second album, a pop rock record titled One of the Boys. Her third album, Teenage Dream (2010), ventured into disco, and contained the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart-topping singles "California Gurls", "Teenage Dream", "Firework", "E.T.", and "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)" as well as the number-three single "The One That Got Away". The album became the first by a female artist to produce five number-one Billboard Hot 100 songs, and the second overall after Michael Jackson's album Bad. In March 2012, she reissued the album as Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection, which produced the songs "Part of Me" and "Wide Awake".

It was a good way to experiment quickly with plasticine in motion and they were fun to make (a compilation of these Vines can be seen at http://vimeo.com/94679344). As this series of animations developed they became more focused on animations that produce sounds, this gave me a bigger idea… I have always been interested in the way visuals can effect sound and how visual loops can be brought together to create a piece of music. This is how I produced Plasticine Rhythm; allowing each stop motion loop, made using Vine, to dictate a sound and combining these sound loops on screen to build a compatible interplay of rhythm and melody. Once this was established I then played with all the elements, including the background colour and the mini TVs containing the loops, so every element was intrinsically linked with the music. Using the iPhone app 'Vine', I created a series of stop motion loops over a period of about 6 months. It was a good way to experiment quickly with plasticine in motion and they were fun to make (a compilation of these Vines can be seen at http://vimeo.com/94679344). As this series of animations developed they became more focused on animations that produce sounds, this gave me a bigger idea…
I have always been interested in the way visuals can effect sound and how visual loops can be brought together to create a piece of music. This is how I produced Plasticine Rhythm; allowing each stop motion loop, made using Vine, to dictate a sound and combining these sound loops on screen to build a compatible interplay of rhythm and melody. Once this was established I then played with all the elements, including the background colour and the mini TVs containing the loops, so every element was intrinsically linked with the music.
For the best stereo effect I recommend wearing headphones to watch it.

The Rhythm Scope is a video synthesizer that generates visual patterns in response to beats. It is designed to work with rhythmic sounds (short quick hits, arpeggios, etc.), providing an easy way to get visuals synchronized to music and sound!
The Rhythm Scope features 16 selectable patterns, including strobe effects, flashing squares, rotating blocks, and random pixels. It also features a Randomizer mode. You can set the Randomizer to automatically change modes every 1-16 beats.
Starting at 0:10, you can see the 16 patterns displayed in a grid and responding to the same beat.
Starting at 0:43, a Rhythm Scope has been set to switch to a random pattern every eight beats. The sound input is a Pocket Piano arpeggio.
To operate: Connect it to a television, projector or video rig and connect a sound source to the ¼" audio jack. The Rhythm Scope detects the level of the audio input and when that level reaches a certain threshold, it triggers a change in the pattern. Select one of the 16 patterns and, using the gain knob, adjust the sensitivity to the audio input.

Using the iPhone app 'Vine', I created a series of stop motion loops over a period of about 6 months. It was a good way to experiment quickly with plasticine in motion and they were fun to make (a compilation of these Vines can be seen at http://vimeo.com/94679344). As this series of animations developed they became more focused on animations that produce sounds, this gave me a bigger idea…
I have always been interested in the way visuals can effect sound and how visual loops can be brought together to create a piece of music. This is how I produced Plasticine Rhythm; allowing each stop motion loop, made using Vine, to dictate a sound and combining these sound loops on screen to build a compatible interplay of rhythm and melody. Once this was established I then played with all the elements, including the background colour and the mini TVs containing the loops, so every element was intrinsically linked with the music.
For the best stereo effect I recommend wearing headphones to watch it.

As this series of animations developed they became more focused on animations that produce sounds, this gave me a bigger idea…
I have always been interested in the way visuals can effect sound and how visual loops can be brought together to create a piece of music. This is how I produced Plasticine Rhythm; allowing each stop motion loop, made using Vine, to dictate a sound and combining these sound loops on screen to build a compatible interplay of rhythm and melody. Once this was established I then played with all the elements, including the background colour and the mini TVs containing the loops, so every element was intrinsically linked with the music.
For the best stereo effect I recommend wearing headphones to watch it.

The Rhythm Scope is a video synthesizer that generates visual patterns in response to beats. It is designed to work with rhythmic sounds (short quick hits, arpeggios, etc.), providing an easy way to get visuals synchronized to music and sound!
The Rhythm Scope features 16 selectable patterns, including strobe effects, flashing squares, rotating blocks, and random pixels. It also features a Randomizer mode. You can set the Randomizer to automatically change modes every 1-16 beats.
Starting at 0:10, you can see the 16 patterns displayed in a grid and responding to the same beat.
Starting at 0:43, a Rhythm Scope has been set to switch to a random pattern every eight beats. The sound input is a Pocket Piano arpeggio.
To operate: Connect it to a television, projector or video rig and connect a sound source to the ¼" audio jack. The Rhythm Scope detects the level of the audio input and when that level reaches a certain threshold, it triggers a change in the pattern. Select one of the 16 patterns and, using the gain knob, adjust the sensitivity to the audio input.
Use the Rhythm Scope with a projector for live performance, TV in your living room, or as part of a larger video mix!
