Pandyan dynasty

The Pandyan or Pandiyan or Pandian dynasty was an ancient Tamil dynasty, one of the three Tamil dynasties, the other two being the Chola and the Chera. The Pandya King, along with Chera King and Chola King, were referred to as the Three Crowned Kings of Tamilakam.

The dynasty ruled parts of South India from around 600 BCE (Early Pandyan Kingdom) to first half of 17th century CE. They initially ruled their country Pandya Nadu from Korkai, a seaport on the southernmost tip of the Indian Peninsula, and in later times moved to Madurai. Fish being their flag, Pandyas were experts in water management, agriculture(mostly near river banks) and fisheries and they were eminent sailors and sea traders too. Pandyan was well known since ancient times, with contacts, even diplomatic, reaching the Roman Empire. The Pandyan empire was home to temples including Meenakshi Amman Temple in Madurai, and Nellaiappar Temple built on the bank of the river Thamirabarani in Tirunelveli. The Pandya kings were called either Jatavarman or Maravarman Pandyan. From being Jains in their early ages, they became Shaivaits after some centuries of rule.Strabo states that an Indian king called Pandion sent Augustus Caesar "presents and gifts of honour". The country of the Pandyas, Pandi Mandala, was described as Pandyan Mediterranea in the Periplus and Modura Regia Pandyan by Ptolemy.

Hardik Pandya

Hardik Pandya (born 11 October 1993) is an Indian cricketer who plays for Baroda cricket team. He is an all-rounder who bats right-handed and bowls right-arm medium-fast.Pandya has been plying his skills for his domestic side since 2013. He played a vital role in Baroda winning the Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy in the 2013-14 season. At the 2015 IPL players' auction, he was bought by the Mumbai Indians for his base price of Rs. 10 lakh. In IPL 2015, he scored a quick fire 21 runs of 8 balls and grabbed 3 important catches to help MI beat CSK by 6 wickets and was awarded the man of the match.Later on against KKR in a must win situation for MI to remain in the race for the top 4 teams, he scored a quickfire 61 of 31 balls to earn his second man of the match award in the season and won the match for his side. He was also awarded the 'Yes bank maximum sixes award' for the same match.

He made his Twenty20 International debut for India on 26 January 2016, picking up 2 wickets against Australia.

What The--?!

What The--?! was a Marvel Comics comic book series self-parodying the Marvel Universe, similar in vein to the 1960s series Not Brand Echh. It was billed as "The Marvel mag of mirth and mayhem!" The series ran for 26 issues from August 1988 through Winter 1993, with issue #26 being a "Fall Special". It typically contained a series of short stories with comedic takes on Marvel heroes and villains, such as having Spider-Ham substitute for Spider-Man.

Concept

What The--?! spotlighted some of the top artists and writers at the time. Many, such as Stan Lee and John Byrne, contributed works that spoof some of their all-time greatest successes. For example, in issue #2, Byrne creates a tale pitting his work on the Fantastic Four franchise against his work with Superman. The issue goes so far as to have the Lex Luthor character complain about the changes Byrne made to the Superman legend after DC Comics' Crisis on Infinite Earths.

Though it carried the Marvel Comics label on the front left corner, What The--?! touted itself as being published by "Marble Comics". What The--?! parodied Marvel institutions such as the legendary Marvel Comics fan mail page, with staged articles called "The Marble Mailbag" and the "What The... Mail". The title also did not contain any "true" advertisements. Instead, What The--?! hosted a number of fake advertisements that made fun of classic comic book advertisements such as Charles Atlas, novelty by-mail companies, and the Hostess snack food ads of the 1970s and 1980s.

Andra and The BackBone

Andra and The BackBone is a rock band from Indonesia and the solo project of Andra Ramadhan, guitarist of the band Dewa 19. Ramadhan also formed part of fellow Dewa band member Ahmad Dhani's Ahmad Band project.

In addition to Ramadhan, the band also consists of Deddi Suryadi, Stevie Item.

The band released its self-titled debut album in 2007 on EMI Indonesia. The album was also released in Malaysia but with different artwork.

The album's first single, "Musnah", became a big hit in Indonesia, reaching the top of many national radio playlists. The video clip also received heavy rotation on MTV.

Temporada de patos (released as Duck Season in the United States) is a 2004 Mexican film. It is the first feature film by writer/director, Fernando Eimbcke, a former MTV Awards videoclip director.

After being successfully featured in national and international film festivals such as the Cannes Film Festival it was sold to distributors in six European countries. The movie has been praised in all of these festivals as well as by directors such as Alfonso Cuarón (Gravity) and Guillermo del Toro (Pacific Rim).

The movie is filmed in black and white and mostly takes place in one location, an old apartment in Tlatelolco.

Plot

Flama (Daniel Miranda) and Moko (Diego Cataño) are two 14-year-olds who have been friends since childhood. One Sunday afternoon, Flama invites Moko to play videogames while his mother is not home. But when the power goes out what seemed like a regular day becomes an adventure.
