Year 575 (DLXXV) was a common year starting on Tuesday (link will display the full calendar) of the Julian calendar. The denomination 575 for this year has been used since the early medieval period, when the Anno Domini calendar era became the prevalent method in Europe for naming years.
A national trust is an organisation dedicated to preserving the cultural heritage of a particular geographic region. Although the focus of a national trust may vary by region, the principal role is to ensure the preservation of historically significant items, and to conserve areas of natural beauty. National trusts generally operate as private non-profit organizations. The first such trust organisation, The Trustees of Reservations, originated in 1890 as a regional group serving the state of Massachusetts, USA. The first national trust, the National Trust for Places of Historic Interest or Natural Beauty, was founded in England in 1895 and operates as a charitable organisation serving England, Wales and Northern Ireland (it is commonly known in the UK as the National Trust). Other national trusts have since been set up around the world.
In 2007, the International National Trusts Organisation (INTO) was established at a gathering in New Delhi, India, with a mandate to support collaboration and best practices among national trusts and similar associations. It has member organisations from over 50 countries.
Wandsworth Road may refer to:
575 Wandsworth Road in London, England, was the home of Kenyan poet and civil servant Khadambi Asalache until his death in 2006. Following his death he left it to the National Trust, who plan to open the house as a museum.
Asalache bought the "two-up two-down" Georgian terraced house in Wandsworth Road in 1981, paying less than the asking price of £31,000. The property was in a poor state of repair when he bought it, having previously been occupied by squatters. For 20 years, he decorated it internally with Moorish-influenced fretwork which he cut by hand from discarded pine doors and wooden boxes. The intricate woodwork was augmented by illustrations of African wilderness, and his collection of 19th-century English lustreware.
The property was shown in The World of Interiors in July/August 1990, and the Sunday Telegraph Magazine in February 2000. Tim Knox, director of Sir John Soane's Museum, in Nest in late 2003, described it as:
The work takes inspiration from the Great Mosque of Cordoba, the Alhambra and Generalife in Granada, doors in Zanzibar, panelled interiors in Damascus, and the waterside houses or yalı in Istanbul.
Jenni Olson (born October 6, 1962) is an American film curator, filmmaker, author, and LGBT film historian. She was born and raised in Falcon Heights, Minnesota. She co-founded the pioneering LGBT website PlanetOut.com, and campaigned to have a barrier erected on the Golden Gate Bridge.
Olson was educated at the University of Minnesota. In 1986, while still a student, Olson co-founded the Minneapolis/St.Paul Lesbian, Gay, Bi & Transgender Film Festival, initially under the name Lavender Images. Olson was inspired in this move by Vito Russo's book, The Celluloid Closet. In 1992 Olson was hired by the company Frameline and moved to San Francisco to work as guest curator on the San Francisco International Lesbian and Gay Film Festival, before being appointed co-director alongside Mark Finch. After three years Olson left this position to co-found the website PlanetOut.com. Olson worked as director of entertainment and e-commerce for the site, as well fulfilling the same roles for Gay.com. She created the PopcornQ section of the PlanetOut.com website, basing the section on her book The Ultimate Guide to Lesbian & Gay Film and Video.

Lizzie Oxby's 30 second animated film for the National Trust is nominated in two categories for 2014 British Animation Awards: Best Commissioned Animation and Best Motion Graphics. 575 Wandsworth Road is a beautiful and unique place of interior design, recently renovated by the National Trust. The fretwork began as a minor project to disguise an unsightly damp patch which grew into a life-long 20 year project for the former owner, Khadambi Asalache. The house is one of the most extraordinary, ornate fretwork interiors in Britain. Lizzie made this short film for the National Trust. Inspired by Asalache’s love of dance, pattern formations and the evolution of the house itself, she brings the interior to life to mark the 2013 opening of the house. The film’s been featured on Televisual, A...

575 Castro St. A film by Jenni Olson | (2008) | HD | color | 7 minutes | USA 2008 FilmInFocus.com About 575 Castro St. Jenni Olson’s powerful elegy, 575 Castro St. reveals the play of light and shadow upon the walls of the Castro Camera Store set for the Academy Award winning film Milk. These mundane yet beautiful shots are almost bereft of movement and sound. All the better to showcase the range of emotions evoked by Harvey Milk’s words on the soundtrack. The audio track is an edited version of the 13-minute audio-cassette Harvey Milk recorded in his camera shop on the evening of Friday, November 18, 1977 (a few weeks after his election to the San Francisco Board of Supervisors which made him one of the first openly gay elected officials in the United States). Labeled simply: “In-Case...
