Siem Reap (Khmer: ក្រុងសៀមរាប, pronounced [siəm riəp]; Thai: เสียมราฐ) is the capital city of Siem Reap Province in northwestern Cambodia, and a popular resort town as the gateway to Angkor region.
Siem Reap has colonial and Chinese-style architecture in the Old French Quarter, and around the Old Market. In the city, there are museums, traditional Apsara dance performances, a Cambodian cultural village, souvenir and handycraft shops, silk farms, rice-paddies in the countryside, fishing villages and a bird sanctuary near the Tonle Sap Lake.
Siem Reap today—being a popular tourist destination—has a large number of hotels, resorts, restaurants and businesses closely related to tourism. This is much owed to its proximity to the Angkor temples, the most popular tourist attraction in Cambodia.
The name "Siem Reap" can be translated to mean "Defeat of Siam" (siem in Khmer), and is commonly taken as a reference to an incident in the centuries-old conflict between the Siamese and Khmer kingdoms, although this is probably apocryphal. According to oral tradition, King Ang Chan (1516–1566) had named the town "Siem Reap", meaning "the defeat of Siam", after he repulsed an army sent to invade Cambodia by the Thai King Maha Chakkraphat in 1549. However, scholars consider this derivation to be simply a modern folk etymology, and maintain that the actual origin of the name is unknown.
Reap may refer to:
REAP may refer to:
Security information and event management (SIEM) software products and services combine security information management (SIM) and security event management (SEM), and provide real-time analysis of security alerts generated by network hardware and applications.
SIEM is sold as software, appliances or managed services; these products are also used to log security data and generate reports for compliance purposes.
The acronyms SEM, SIM and SIEM have been sometimes used interchangeably. The segment of security management that deals with real-time monitoring, correlation of events, notifications and console views is commonly known as security event management (SEM). The second area provides long-term storage as well as analysis and reporting of log data, and is known as security information management (SIM). As with many meanings and definitions of capabilities, evolving requirements continually shape derivatives of SIEM product categories. The need for voice-centric visibility or vSIEM (voice security information and event management) is a recent example of this evolution.

Cambodia (i/kæmˈboʊdiə/;Khmer: កម្ពុជា, Kampuchea, IPA: [kɑmpuˈciə]), officially known as the Kingdom of Cambodia (Khmer: ព្រះរាជាណាចក្រកម្ពុជា, Preăh Réachéanachâk Kâmpŭchéa, IPA: [ˈprĕəh riəciənaːˈcɑk kɑmpuˈciə]) and once known as the Khmer Empire, is a country located in the southern portion of the Indochina Peninsula in Southeast Asia. Its total landmass is 181,035 square kilometres (69,898 sq mi), bordered by Thailand to the northwest, Laos to the northeast, Vietnam to the east, and the Gulf of Thailand to the southwest.
With a population of over 15 million, Cambodia is the 70th most populous country in the world. The official religion is Theravada Buddhism, practised by approximately 95 percent of the population. The country's minority groups include Vietnamese, Chinese, Chams, and 30 hill tribes. The capital and largest city is Phnom Penh, the political, economic, and cultural centre of Cambodia. The kingdom is a constitutional monarchy with Norodom Sihamoni, a monarch chosen by the Royal Throne Council, as head of state. The head of government is Hun Sen, who is currently the longest serving non-royal leader in South East Asia and has ruled Cambodia for over 25 years.
Angkor Wat (Khmer: អង្គរវត្ត or "Capital Temple") is a temple complex in Cambodia and the largest religious monument in the world, with site measuring 162.6 hectares (1,626,000 sq meters). It was originally constructed as a Hindu temple for the Khmer Empire, gradually transforming into a Buddhist temple toward the end of the 12th century. It was built by the Khmer King Suryavarman II in the early 12th century in Yaśodharapura (Khmer: យសោធរបុរៈ, present-day Angkor), the capital of the Khmer Empire, as his state temple and eventual mausoleum. Breaking from the Shaiva tradition of previous kings, Angkor Wat was instead dedicated to Vishnu. As the best-preserved temple at the site, it is the only one to have remained a significant religious center since its foundation. The temple is at the top of the high classical style of Khmer architecture. It has become a symbol of Cambodia, appearing on its national flag, and it is the country's prime attraction for visitors.
Angkor Wat combines two basic plans of Khmer temple architecture: the temple-mountain and the later galleried temple. It is designed to represent Mount Meru, home of the devas in Hindu mythology: within a moat and an outer wall 3.6 kilometres (2.2 mi) long are three rectangular galleries, each raised above the next. At the centre of the temple stands a quincunx of towers. Unlike most Angkorian temples, Angkor Wat is oriented to the west; scholars are divided as to the significance of this. The temple is admired for the grandeur and harmony of the architecture, its extensive bas-reliefs, and for the numerous devatas adorning its walls.

Happy Frickin Halloween, preacher. In case you haven't noticed, I REALLY dislike the way women were and ARE treated by Abrahamic monotheist religions. Travel video about destination Siem Reap in Cambodia. Siem Reap is a relatively small town 315 kilometres north of Phnom Penh, capital of Cambodia. Here, growing tourism has created a boomtown because Siem Reap is close to Angkor, the ancient capital of a huge and mysterious jungle realm. The Temples of Angkor are the remains of various religious buildings that were built by more than ten kings of the Khmer realm between the 7th and 16th centuries A.D. The gigantic roots of kapok trees cling to the moss-covered walls of the temple complex and everything is dominated by the encroachment of nature. The monastery was once home to 5,000 including more than 2,000 monks and more than 600 female dancers who played an important part in the sacred rituals and ceremonies of that time. The fisherm...

About a month ago, my sister Anna and cousin Carla decided to go on a spontaneous four day back packing trip to Siem Reap, Cambodia. It was easily one of our best trips yet. WHY A TOUR IN ASIA? Attracted both by the beauty of Asia, we left our jobs to realise our dream: launch an online travel guide, while traveling six months through Asia. We already much traveled the world but we chose finally this continent because we always have lived strong and memorable experiences there. We defined our route following the dry seasons of each country. Eh yes! We studied tourism management and we are therefore very rigorous in the organization of a trip. This project gave a real goal to this trip: to discover even more, even further, limitless. After a few months, we found ourselves completely free of any prior, completely off the beaten tracks and we become true adventurers. And it is there, you really feel the joy, the pride of all the emotions experienced. It's crazy,...

Take a deep breath and go on a journey around South East Asia through leech-infested jungles, abandoned temples, and colorful coral reefs. It was a 2 months trip that gone by so fast, like taking one deep breath. This is no ordinary "inspiring" travel video. For this, I decided to go with a much more fun and action-packed style instead of the usual go-to "inspirational" travel style that I like to do.. and a delicious "disco" music. Everything is better with disco music. :) I also experimented on many ways of shooting and framing and I think most of the footages came out really well. ...

As Camps International are opening a new camp in Cambodia i was sent there for 4 days after completing the Borneo trip. My mission was to travel from Siem Reap to Phnom Penh filming in a variety of locations from the Angkor Wat, Tonle Sap (largest lake in South East Asia) to the Killing Fields, S21 and the new community camp at Beng Mealea. The country was incredible filled with fascinating but disturbing history, amazing temples and the warmest and friendliest people you could imagine. The filming was very hectic and we were rushed around with our guide with the feeling that our feet never touched the ground. This trailer is a snap shot of what Cambodia is like and what you can expect to see on your travels there.

I could go explain you would never understand,
they got us in a box they don't want us to expand,
im just tryna show you how the stories unfolding,
we in a square but whatever we is rolling,
they will pick you up, bring you up
watch you shine tear you down,
then kill you the minute you try expose them,
we in a revolutionary era, look in the mirror,
understand nothing can repair ya, our generation is meant for satin,
it's devastating, im heaven waiting,
meditation for preparation ,
they cooking up an evil plan tryna get an apron,
new world order wasn't just another statement
3 verse : scratching the surface,
we're buried in curses,
chase my dreams or embrace my purposes,
see the message I created and I sent it,
but even if you got it still nothing could prevent it,
Im just tryna let you know that its coming,
never trust nothing they ever try to come with,
economy ain't budging and we here cutting budgets,
but since have the power we can also overcome it,
world war 3, they call it bringing peace,
they know the real agenda this aint nothing but a scheme,
we all living lies, life aint nothing but a dream,
until I woke you up cause it aint nothing what it seems,
the people brainwashed that we in the right hands
but if we know the truth then the people might stand,
I know there'll be doubters saying I aint got a clue,
but age don't matter cause that don't make me a fool,
its all planned out they just waiting for a cue,
because you cant fathom you'll never believe its true ,
you'll never believe it's true,
because you cant fathom you'll never believe it's true
