Millions of Americans are working harder than ever, but feel they are falling further behind. For so many the American Dream’s opportunities seem to have changed since the days when they were growing up. A year and a half ago ABC News Anchor Diane Sawyer and team connected on social media with thousands of working Americans from across the country to hear their stories and received video diaries on the reality of their lives. The team set out across the nation to bring these stories into focus – a startling portrait of struggle, frustration and anxiety that explores what it means to be the first generation of middle class Americans in half a century who are more likely than not to earn less than their parents.
A series of raw and revealing reports uncovers how close to the edge so many Americans live. More than 8 million Americans work multiple jobs. Almost half of Americans would be unable to cover their weekly expenses if hit by an emergency costing $400. ABC News finds a man working full time, but sleeping in a storage unit in the same apartment building where he once lived; a man selling his blood plasma to buy a birthday present for his child; and young children sleeping overnight at daycares while their parents work a night shift. In America where workers put in more hours than others in most countries in the western world, there are parallel realities: people who earn huge bonuses and get free food at work while others near them keep their jobs by sleeping in cars in the parking lot.
For more than a year, ABC News followed dramatic, riveting and unexpected turns in the daily lives of middle class Americans struggling to live the life they once knew growing up. The team traveled coast to coast to more than a dozen cities documenting reality in the lives of firefighters and fast food workers, Silicon Valley employees and college professors – and reporting on their hopes and hardships.
What does it take to stay in the middle class today? Viewers can compare their lives to the surprising statistics to what now actually defines middle class. After a tumultuous election and with a new president with new promises – what will change? ABC News will follow these people during and through this transition. Sawyer and the team also report on solutions to this crisis proposed by American workers, and the stunning difference some companies have made when their leaders reach out to create change.

Whereas hard work was once seen as the route to prosperity in the US, nowadays the best most people can hope for is a lottery win. Three generations of farmers in Vermont ring the changes of the past fifty years. Doug Lyford remembers that his parents never argued about money: "There were five of us and we all went to college. No farmer could afford that any more". Disenchanted with the mainstream politicians, who have not done enough to help them, many are turning to the traditionalist Tea Party. For others, such as bicycle shop manager Anthony Laskaris, hard times are only to be expected: "this is the effect of globalisation: our living standards go down a little, so that others' can rise".

"America" is an American political advertisement released by the 2016 presidential campaign of Bernie Sanders. It premiered on January 21, 2016 via YouTube, and to air on television in Iowa and New Hampshire shortly before the Democratic Iowa caucus and New Hampshire primary.
Content
The advertisement features "America," a song recorded by Simon & Garfunkel for their album Bookends (1968).
The ad starts with scenes of everyday American life over soft humming and gentle guitar strumming. As the line, "let us be lovers, we'll marry our fortunes together" plays in the background, a middle-aged couple dances at a small Bernie Sanders for President rally. Then Sanders is seen speaking to a few people in a backyard. As the ad continues, the crowds grow larger and more enthusiastic. A montage of many Sanders supporters appear, as the words "They've all come to look for America" flash on the screen. Sanders is then seen addressing a large outdoor gathering, interacting one-on-one with supporters, appearing before more energetic crowds, finally ending in a large auditorium filled to capacity with cheering people.

Wonder Showzen
Wonder Showzen was an American sketch comedy television series that aired between 2005 and 2006 on MTV2. It was created by John Lee and Vernon Chatman of PFFR. The show is rated TV-MA.
The show's format is that of educational PBS children's television shows such as Sesame Street and The Electric Company (e.g. use of stock footage, puppetry, and clips of children being interviewed), parodying the format with adult-oriented content. In addition to general controversial comedy, it satirizes politics, religion, war, sex, and culture with black comedy.
Every episode begins with a disclaimer, which reads:
"Wonder Showzen contains offensive, despicable content that is too controversial and too awesome for actual children. The stark, ugly and profound truths Wonder Showzen exposes may be soul-crushing to the weak of spirit. If you allow a child to watch this show, you are a bad parent or guardian."
Development
Wonder Showzen was created by John Lee and Vernon Chatman and pitched to the USA Network in 2000, but after a few minutes of viewing, executives there quickly concluded it did not fit the network's programming style. However, Viacom was re-branding MTV2 and made Wonder Showzen part of its new programming lineup. It aired as part of Sic 'Em Fridays, along with Dirty Sanchez and Wildboyz. The pilot was named simply "Kids Show". The Wonder Showzen theme song is still 'Kids Show'. Reruns of the show also air on MTV and Comedy Central.

A year and a half ago ABC News Anchor Diane Sawyer and team connected on social media with thousands of working Americans from across the country to hear their stories and received video diaries on the reality of their lives. The team set out across the nation to bring these stories into focus – a startling portrait of struggle, frustration and anxiety that explores what it means to be the first generation of middle class Americans in half a century who are more likely than not to earn less than their parents.
A series of raw and revealing reports uncovers how close to the edge so many Americans live. More than 8 million Americans work multiple jobs. Almost half of Americans would be unable to cover their weekly expenses if hit by an emergency costing $400. ABC News finds a man working full time, but sleeping in a storage unit in the same apartment building where he once lived; a man selling his blood plasma to buy a birthday present for his child; and young children sleeping overnight at daycares while their parents work a night shift. In America where workers put in more hours than others in most countries in the western world, there are parallel realities: people who earn huge bonuses and get free food at work while others near them keep their jobs by sleeping in cars in the parking lot.
For more than a year, ABC News followed dramatic, riveting and unexpected turns in the daily lives of middle class Americans struggling to live the life they once knew growing up. The team traveled coast to coast to more than a dozen cities documenting reality in the lives of firefighters and fast food workers, Silicon Valley employees and college professors – and reporting on their hopes and hardships.
What does it take to stay in the middle class today? Viewers can compare their lives to the surprising statistics to what now actually defines middle class. After a tumultuous election and with a new president with new promises – what will change? ABC News will follow these people during and through this transition. Sawyer and the team also report on solutions to this crisis proposed by American workers, and the stunning difference some companies have made when their leaders reach out to create change.

Three generations of farmers in Vermont ring the changes of the past fifty years. Doug Lyford remembers that his parents never argued about money: "There were five of us and we all went to college. No farmer could afford that any more". Disenchanted with the mainstream politicians, who have not done enough to help them, many are turning to the traditionalist Tea Party. For others, such as bicycle shop manager Anthony Laskaris, hard times are only to be expected: "this is the effect of globalisation: our living standards go down a little, so that others' can rise".

Background:
Crandall and I had been talking about working on a project together for a couple of years, but the invite for Lords of Fun 3 couldn't have come at a worse time; I was stone broke and had no business booking airline tickets. I had totally given up on going. Then pictures started surfacing of dudes starting their journey to Richmond, pics of Leland and co on the side of the road with a weird little dog, pics of open roads, bikes, sunsets and middle America. I felt like I was missing out already and I couldn't stand it. So I booked the ticket and 48-hours later I found myself at a Greyhound bus station in the sweltering heat of Richmond, VA. Crandall arrived sweating profusely and it was full throttle from there on out. This film documents some of the weirdness that ensued over the next 3 days . . . -Fraser Byrne

All connected by a common element within bicycle culture, A bunch of friends, motivated by good times, and the thrill of adventure, teamed up with London based filmmaker Fraser Byrne, resulting in this tiny film, titled "Beat Ass: On the road with the Lords of Fun".
The moniker is nothing more than a tongue and cheek proclamation of sorts, an excuse to invite a bunch of friends from far reaching corners of the earth, and all walks of life, to get together for a good time. It's unaffiliated, unfunded, unsolicited, and somewhat unintentional, it's just a reason to get together and get some kicks.
We loosely planned a trip to the coast From Richmond Va, to the Outer Banks, using the FBM bikes Tour bus, a dozen or so motorbikes, and all of our gear, (sleeping bags, bikes, skateboards, fireworks, etc...) Our goal was to hit up a bunch of skateparks, campsites, a dirt dragstrip, and what have you, for a long weekend. We ended up getting trapped in a tidewater suburban nightmare, under the veil of a tropical storm warning, roads were flooded, rain and winds all but made moto travel impossible, the drags got cancelled, and well you get the idea... We still managed to make tuna fish out of tuna shit, just nothing like we initially pictured as we rolled out of town for our first hundred or so miles...
For a few days, as silly as it was, our own shared absurdity, was our only reality.

This summer, SPILLT was invited into The Republic Collective as one of their premier motion design and post-production partners. Excited by the prospect of joining a wide network of like-minded creative professionals, our team jumped at the opportunity to develop the flagship video for this amazing group of national talent. Our intentions: To captivate, excite and inspire the audience and showcase this momentous change in how our industry connects with new opportunities.
Representing the artistic community in Middle America was a delicate task that we took seriously - after all, we work within a vibrant regional market ourselves. Finding the right tone was a collaborative process in itself. We tapped our new talents fresh out of Savannah School of Art and Design and began our quest to show a style completely new. The result is this visually inspiring piece which accurately conveys the spirit of this movement. Ultimately, we are proud to put forth this lively and accessible call to action.

DESIGN:
We designed a poster based on the Aztecs Art and the history of the natives of Middle America. Based upon the stone of the Aztec Sun god we created a calendar for 2013. We named it ‘’The calendar after the end?’’ based upon the false translation of the Mayans prophecy that in 21-12-2012 will come the end of the world. We put the questionmark along with the title, to signify our ignorance for what may come.
For the title we used Tikal typeface.Tikal is a brand new experimental typeface designed by Richard de Ruijter for "Ten Dollar Fonts", inspired by ancient South American culture. Although Richard has never been to South America, his typeface is a personal interpretation of what he feels their modern type would have looked like in this day and age.
According to Mayans in 21-12-2012 the world will not end, it will be remodified. According to the Mayan calendar the 21st of December marks the end of the time and the begining of no-time. The Aztecs in one of their calendars, had 20 days. Each day had a name of an animal, a natural element
or an activity. Also for each day had been written a moto. We replaced the numbers of the days, on the
calendar, with the Aztecs glyphs. We do that because we believe that it is time for people to stop counting
the time in numbers and start counting in actions.
The Aztecs, in the center of their stone, have the Sun god. We replaced him with the god of
Chaos (this is a fictional god!) because in a world that time doesn’t count in numbers... chaos prevail!
Around the calendar we wrote the moto for each day in a way that can be used as an index.
It is a calendar for someone who wants to see how he can enjoy his day and not to see what day is.
PRINT:
We screen printed the poster in a large format 70x100 cm, 3 colours on a variaty of papers and materials. We
choose this trying to emulate the real size of the stone of Sun god. We printed 3 colors, black,
3x metallic inks (gold, silver, bronze) and phosphorescent ink in variable combinations. The
silkscreen printing tecnic was selected because it is the anciest printing method and it has the longest restibility in time. Selected posters were hand crafted to give them a vintage look.

DESIGN:
We designed a poster based on the Aztecs Art and the history of the natives of Middle America. Based upon the stone of the Aztec Sun god we created a calendar for 2013. We named it ‘’The calendar after the end?’’ based upon the false translation of the Mayans prophecy that in 21-12-2012 will come the end of the world. We put the questionmark along with the title, to signify our ignorance for what may come.
For the title we used Tikal typeface.Tikal is a brand new experimental typeface designed by Richard de Ruijter for "Ten Dollar Fonts", inspired by ancient South American culture. Although Richard has never been to South America, his typeface is a personal interpretation of what he feels their modern type would have looked like in this day and age.
According to Mayans in 21-12-2012 the world will not end, it will be remodified. According to the Mayan calendar the 21st of December marks the end of the time and the begining of no-time. A series of raw and revealing reports uncovers how close to the edge so many Americans live. More than 8 million Americans work multiple jobs. Almost half of Americans would be unable to cover their weekly expenses if hit by an emergency costing $400. ABC News finds a man working full time, but sleeping in a storage unit in the same apartment building where he once lived; a man selling his blood plasma to buy a birthday present for his child; and young children sleeping overnight at daycares while their parents work a night shift. In America where workers put in more hours than others in most countries in the western world, there are parallel realities: people who earn huge bonuses and get free food at work while others near them keep their jobs by sleeping in cars in the parking lot.
For more than a year, ABC News followed dramatic, riveting and unexpected turns in the daily lives of middle class Americans struggling to live the life they once knew growing up. The team traveled coast to coast to more than a dozen cities documenting reality in the lives of firefighters and fast food workers, Silicon Valley employees and college professors – and reporting on their hopes and hardships.
What does it take to stay in the middle class today? Viewers can compare their lives to the surprising statistics to what now actually defines middle class. After a tumultuous election and with a new president with new promises – what will change? ABC News will follow these people during and through this transition. No farmer could afford that any more". Disenchanted with the mainstream politicians, who have not done enough to help them, many are turning to the traditionalist Tea Party. For others, such as bicycle shop manager Anthony Laskaris, hard times are only to be expected: "this is the effect of globalisation: our living standards go down a little, so that others' can rise".

Background:
Crandall and I had been talking about working on a project together for a couple of years, but the invite for Lords of Fun 3 couldn't have come at a worse time; I was stone broke and had no business booking airline tickets. I had totally given up on going. Then pictures started surfacing of dudes starting their journey to Richmond, pics of Leland and co on the side of the road with a weird little dog, pics of open roads, bikes, sunsets and middle America. I felt like I was missing out already and I couldn't stand it. So I booked the ticket and 48-hours later I found myself at a Greyhound bus station in the sweltering heat of Richmond, VA. Crandall arrived sweating profusely and it was full throttle from there on out. This film documents some of the weirdness that ensued over the next 3 days . . . -Fraser Byrne

All connected by a common element within bicycle culture, A bunch of friends, motivated by good times, and the thrill of adventure, teamed up with London based filmmaker Fraser Byrne, resulting in this tiny film, titled "Beat Ass: On the road with the Lords of Fun".
The moniker is nothing more than a tongue and cheek proclamation of sorts, an excuse to invite a bunch of friends from far reaching corners of the earth, and all walks of life, to get together for a good time. It's unaffiliated, unfunded, unsolicited, and somewhat unintentional, it's just a reason to get together and get some kicks.
We loosely planned a trip to the coast From Richmond Va, to the Outer Banks, using the FBM bikes Tour bus, a dozen or so motorbikes, and all of our gear, (sleeping bags, bikes, skateboards, fireworks, etc...) Our goal was to hit up a bunch of skateparks, campsites, a dirt dragstrip, and what have you, for a long weekend. We ended up getting trapped in a tidewater suburban nightmare, under the veil of a tropical storm warning, roads were flooded, rain and winds all but made moto travel impossible, the drags got cancelled, and well you get the idea... We still managed to make tuna fish out of tuna shit, just nothing like we initially pictured as we rolled out of town for our first hundred or so miles...
For a few days, as silly as it was, our own shared absurdity, was our only reality.

This summer, SPILLT was invited into The Republic Collective as one of their premier motion design and post-production partners. Excited by the prospect of joining a wide network of like-minded creative professionals, our team jumped at the opportunity to develop the flagship video for this amazing group of national talent. Our intentions: To captivate, excite and inspire the audience and showcase this momentous change in how our industry connects with new opportunities.
Representing the artistic community in Middle America was a delicate task that we took seriously - after all, we work within a vibrant regional market ourselves. Finding the right tone was a collaborative process in itself. We tapped our new talents fresh out of Savannah School of Art and Design and began our quest to show a style completely new. The result is this visually inspiring piece which accurately conveys the spirit of this movement. Ultimately, we are proud to put forth this lively and accessible call to action.

Welcome citizens, to The Republic Collective! The Republic is a network of production companies and ad agencies that participate in collaborative production in Middle America. The Republic is able to keep production local by tapping into its vast network of nationwide talent to provide recommendations for directors, post-production, motion graphic design, visual effects, digital / interactive talent and online advertising. The Republic Collective consists of companies and people who share common values and uphold the highest production standards.
This summer, SPILLT was invited into The Republic Collective as one of their premier motion design and post-production partners. Excited by the prospect of joining a wide network of like-minded creative professionals, our team jumped at the opportunity to develop the flagship video for this amazing group of national talent. Our intentions: To captivate, excite and inspire the audience and showcase this momentous change in how our industry connects with new opportunities.
Representing the artistic community in Middle America was a delicate task that we took seriously - after all, we work within a vibrant regional market ourselves. Finding the right tone was a collaborative process in itself. We tapped our new talents fresh out of Savannah School of Art and Design and began our quest to show a style completely new. The result is this visually inspiring piece which accurately conveys the spirit of this movement. Ultimately, we are proud to put forth this lively and accessible call to action.

DESIGN:
We designed a poster based on the Aztecs Art and the history of the natives of Middle America. Based upon the stone of the Aztec Sun god we created a calendar for 2013. We named it ‘’The calendar after the end?’’ based upon the false translation of the Mayans prophecy that in 21-12-2012 will come the end of the world. We put the questionmark along with the title, to signify our ignorance for what may come.
For the title we used Tikal typeface.Tikal is a brand new experimental typeface designed by Richard de Ruijter for "Ten Dollar Fonts", inspired by ancient South American culture. Although Richard has never been to South America, his typeface is a personal interpretation of what he feels their modern type would have looked like in this day and age.
According to Mayans in 21-12-2012 the world will not end, it will be remodified. According to the Mayan calendar the 21st of December marks the end of the time and the begining of no-time. It is the end of the Macha and the begining of Pacha. It is the end of selfiness and the begining of brotherhood. It is the end of individualism and the begining of collectivism. It is the end of hatred and the begining of love. The end of lies and the begining of truth. It is the end of sadness and the begining of joy. It is the end of division and the begining of unity.’’ - Evo Morales, President of Bolivia to the UN General Assembly, 67th session, 2012.
The Aztecs in one of their calendars, had 20 days. Each day had a name of an animal, a natural element
or an activity. Also for each day had been written a moto. We replaced the numbers of the days, on the
calendar, with the Aztecs glyphs. We do that because we believe that it is time for people to stop counting
the time in numbers and start counting in actions.
The Aztecs, in the center of their stone, have the Sun god. We replaced him with the god of
Chaos (this is a fictional god!) because in a world that time doesn’t count in numbers... chaos prevail!
Around the calendar we wrote the moto for each day in a way that can be used as an index.
It is a calendar for someone who wants to see how he can enjoy his day and not to see what day is.
PRINT:
We screen printed the poster in a large format 70x100 cm, 3 colours on a variaty of papers and materials. We
choose this trying to emulate the real size of the stone of Sun god. We printed 3 colors, black,
3x metallic inks (gold, silver, bronze) and phosphorescent ink in variable combinations. The
silkscreen printing tecnic was selected because it is the anciest printing method and it has the longest restibility in time. Selected posters were hand crafted to give them a vintage look.
