'Two Sides' is a remastered 2CD compilation from British Multi-Instumentalist Mike Oldfield. The tracks for this collection were chosen and sequenced by Mike himself. This collection covers 25 years of his career from 1972's 'Tubular Bells' through to 2007's "On My Heart". One Disc covers his experimental music side, and the other contains his best loved tracks and singles. Hence the title...two sides.

'Avoid Freud' is the second album from Canadian New Wave band 'Rough Trade'. Released in 1980, it didn't take long for it to make the top 20. The success came mainly due to it's 2 controversial singles. The first being "What's The Furor About The Führer?" b/w "Fashion Victim" (The latter track became the bigger hit). The albums most famous single however is "Highschool Confidential", which was intensely controversial for its explicitly sexual lyrics, which include references to lesbianism. (A cleaned up version was recorded for Radio, which avoided some of the more controversial lines).

The original 9 track soundtrack from Valley Girl went out of print soon after release in 1983. It was highly sought after for many years but never re-issued. Finally in 1994 Rhino put together a more comprehensive 15 Track compilation of music used in the film...and fans went wild for it! For many of us these sounds are also the soundtrack of our teenage years, when Val's & Mod's ruled our schools!

Here's a few of the pics I took of Howard Jones on Thursday night. It was a great show, and he is just as good in concert today as he was 25 years ago.

M@D0NNA - TRUE BLUE (1986/2001) REMASTERED AND EXPANDED

M@donna's third album 'True Blue' saw a departure from her pop/dance style of her first 2 albums. Although there are still some dance tracks on the album, there are also some great ballads, Live To Tell being one of them. The album was a huge hit, topping the charts in 28 countries and becoming the highest selling album of 1986. 5 Singles were released, 2 of which reached #1 and the remaining three reached top 5 on the charts.

This is the 2001 Remaster, it contains 2 bonus 12" Remixes not on the original Release.

Here's a few of the photos I took at the Beach Boys concert on Sunday night. They may all be 70ish, but their voices are still in top form. They played 53 songs, it was a 3 hour show!

Remastered 32 Track 2CD compilation from Simple Minds This collection covers their hits from 1981 - 2001, and covers nearly all of their big hits (I don't know why 'New Gold Dream' isn't included!). Otherwise it is a great collection showing the evolution of the band from their early days through to to 2001, and is sure to bring back memories of the 80's and 90's when their songs played constantly on the radio.

Forged back in 1980 from the remnants of 'The Bodysnatchers', the Belle Stars were and all female, all singing, all dancing tour de force. They scored 7 UK hit singles between 1982 and 1984, and 1 hit album before disbanding in 1986.
