My name is Brian Ford and I live in Shawnee, KS. (About 15 minutes from the location of the shooting at Austins bar and grill in Olathe, KS.)
I am not related to either victim, but have a close friend who works at Garmin, where Srinivas and Alok both worked. I was motivated to start this page the morning after the shooting because I couldn't find a way to donate to the two men who were targeted. (A third victim was shot when he stepped in to help - his sister had already set up a funding page for his medical care.)
Any raised funds are expected to be used for medical and funeral expenses, as needed.
Update 1:
I have been in touch with a member of the victim's family as well as a Human Resources manager at Garmin. As a result, I have added the family members as beneficiaries to the funds which means they will now have sole access to the money once the funding period is completed.

Alok Madasani and Srinivas Kuchibhotla, both employees at Garmin, were enjoying their evening at a local sports bar in Olathe, KS when they were confronted with racist, bigoted remarks and ultimately shot as part of what appears to have been a vicious hate crime.
Sadly, Kuchibhotla was fatally wounded and Madasani was critically injured.
Madasani will likely face extensive medical bills and the family of Kuchibhotla will now have to deal with the death of their beloved son, both financially and emotionally.
Let's send a message that we will support those who are targeted -- and stand against all who wish to spread hate -- by raising funds to help the victims of this horrendous act of senseless violence.

Can the creator of this fund add more details as per the relationship to the Victim? It seems suspicious.
These donations from this gofundme should go to Alok. Seems like the other 2 are being well taken care of except him.
This fund is being redirected to Kavipriya muthuramalingam who is running a fundraiser for the decased Srinivas Kuchibhotla. We need a fund raiser for Alok Madasani too. The title of this fundraiser says "madasani-kuchibhotla-relief-fund", that means funds collected as part of this should go to both the victims and not just Kuchibhotla family.
Where is the fund for just Alok Madasani? I've donated to the other 2, but can't find one just for him that isn't split.
Is there a specific fund for Alok? I would like to contribute to him directly. Bless all these men for their suffering and heroism!!!!

Can this gofundme page be set up, so all the funds go to Alok? Srinivas already has a gofundme page that has raised over 250,000 & Ians page has raised over 100,000....
I would donate to this page, but I would like to know why there are two pages for Kuchibhotla? I would like to donate to Alok's medical fund directly---- as the page for Kuchibhotla has raised a substantial amount of money and they have almost reached their goal.
Brian, Are you in touch with Kavipriya or Alok Madasani's family directly? I've contributed to Srinu and Ian's campaigns, and want to ensure Alok's family is receiving 100 percent of these funds.
I strongly feel that this should go to Alok Madasani only, due to the fact that the deceased's Srinivas Kuchibhotla, account has already over $473,000 in it. I'm sure nobody would be offended to give this money to the surviving victim of this horrible tragedy. The other victim, Ian Gilhot, that jumped in to assist these gentlemen has an account already with over $275,000 for him. I feel that Mr. Madasani needs and deserves to have equal support.
Can someone who knows the victims create a page for Alok Madasani only please? I have contributed to the other two victims and would like to contribute to him as well.

I am very impressed by Ian Grillot who stood up to protect these two young men from a freak. Why is the goal for Ian set for 50 K ? Why not set the same amounts for everyone? Seems strange. Please change the amount for more substantial. I know medical billing in the USA is brutal
