Nankervis kicks one very late, and the Tigers get home to consolidate their spot in the top eight.

The Tigers never really shut the gate, but in the end time beat Carlton, who weren't helped by having lost Lamb early in the day in an incident that will earn Houli a holiday.

It was a deserved win for Richmond, who had the lion's share of inside 50s and applied terrific pressure all day, even if their finishing left something to be desired.

Castagna, Rance, Martin, Grigg, Houli and Ellis led the way for Richmond, while Kreuzer, Cripps, Docherty and Murphy were the best Blues.

Martin errs in trying to spot up a target inside 50 and the Blues rebound. Charlie Curnow marks 25m out and kicks it.

Cripps does very well in heavy traffic and the Blues head forward where Simpson marks, but hangs his kick to the left.

Cotchin finds Riewoldt who goes back and kicks his third. Even Richmond couldn't lose from here?

The Blues have a couple of chances but it's the Tigers who get the first of the quarter through Dan Butler after some brilliant evasive work from Martin.

The Tigers lead it by 13 points, unable to put the Blues to bed. Given Richmond's recent history, that could spell trouble.

Rance falls over in defence, opening the door for the Blues, who get it to Casboult, who kicks a goal, and keeps his side well and truly in the contest.

A handball over the top from Martin to Riewoldt ends a barren stretch for both sides. The Tigers doing enough at the moment.
