Hanoi University in Vietnam has specialised in delivering foreign language education since 1959. In 1999 Victoria University and Hanoi University developed a joint program to deliver postgraduate studies for Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL).

This 17-year partnership has helped improve the English language skills of Vietnamese teachers, with more than 1500 Hanoi University students graduating with a Master of TESOL degree.

The partnership also serves to further the Vietnamese Ministry of Higher Education ‘2020’ project, an initiative to improve and standardise the English skills of Vietnamese teachers and lecturers.
