The film is as local as it can get. The documentary is dramatic and powerful and will leave a tear in your eye. The music is an auditory photograph for the people who were around in BC and Canada in general in the eighties and nineties and even at the beginning of the century. I am sure that some of you reading these lines are even in the documentary, or saw something in it as it happened in real life with your own eyes and in full colour. This documentary also hits hard to our community because the subject, John Mann, is a friend or a neighbour; a familiar figure for most of us, one of Vancouver greatest icons and a great guy.

Every year many people die. It hits hard when you have met the deceased. It hits harder when it’s somebody close to you. Many people feel saddened when a celebrity dies because they feel they know them. They were used to seeing their famous face on TV or listening to their voice on the radio; they followed their lives, their relationships, the houses they lived in, the clothes they wore. Sometimes they become accustomed to celebrities, fantazising to become like them: famous, talented and attractive. We generally see celebrities as winners, successful and glamorous. Some of them live sad, depressive lives while others live long prosperous lives.
