May 26, 2017 — Yesterday, award-winning South African filmmaker John Trengove canceled his participation in the upcoming Tel Aviv International LGBT Film Festival (TL​V​Fest). His film, The Wound, is scheduled to be the festival’s opening night film on June 1. In his letter (copied below) to festival organizers informing them that he was canceling his participation, Trengove said:

Portugal - 'Queer Lisboa', Lisbon's gay and lesbian film festival, dropped its long-standing sponsorship from the Israeli Embassy following a sustained campaign by activists advocating for the boycott of Israel until it abides by its obligations under international law and respects Palestinian human rights. The Israeli embassy has sponsored the festival for the past many years as part of its "Brand Israel" campaign launched in 2005, which aims to divert attention from Israel's violations of international law and Palestinian rights to its artistic and scientific achievements.

May 12, 2017 – Today, the Norwegian Confederation of Trade Unions (LO), representing close to one million workers, endorsed a full boycott of Israel to achieve Palestinian rights under international law. LO is the largest and most influential umbrella organization of labor unions in Norway. Commenting on this significant BDS victory in Norway, Riya Hassan, the Europe Campaigns Coordinator with the Palestinian BDS National Committee, said:

Throughout the month of May, members of the Modern Language Association, the largest professional society of humanities scholars in the United States, will be voting on a resolution which—in contrast to other scholarly associations—seeks to ban the association from endorsing of the Palestinian call for a boycott of Israeli academic institutions.  The Resolution was 

May 11, 2017 -- Palestinians accuse FIFA President Gianni Infantino of corruption and nepotism after he blocked the Palestinian Football Association’s motion at today’s FIFA Congress. The motion demanded that the Israeli Football Association abide by FIFA statutes by excluding football clubs based in illegal settlements on occupied Palestinian land.

May 9, 2017  –  Today, the mass hunger strike by Palestinians in Israeli prisons is in its critical fourth week, at which point the hundreds of hunger strikers may find standing up difficult or impossible. Heeding the call to action issued on May 6 by the Palestinian Prisoners’ Movement leading this strike to end Israeli violations of Palestinian rights and to ensure dignity and humane conditions for political prisoners, the Palestinian BDS National Committee (BNC) calls:

May 9, 2017 —  Today, FIFA has once again succumbed to Israeli bullying. FIFA’s press release makes clear that the organization has removed the issue of Israeli football clubs based in illegal settlements in the Occupied Palestinian Territory from its agenda at its upcoming annual congress this Thursday, claiming “it is premature for the FIFA Congress to take any decision” on the matter.
