Individuals
Our work is only possible thanks to individuals like you. You can make a huge difference to the lives of vulnerable children and families at risk of separation.
Whether you make a regular donation, sponsor a child, sign up to take part in one of our events, want to organise your own fundraising event or would like to discover the many ways you can volunteer. You can make a real difference to the lives of vulnerable children.
FUNDRAISING FOR SOS
Fundraising is a great way to support the vital work we do to give the world’s most vulnerable children a brighter future.
You can host your own fundraiser at home or with friends, or challenge yourself to compete in an event like the London to Amsterdan cycling. Check some of the events you can join here. If that’s not for you, we have plenty of other ideas to get you going! Get in touch today to find an event that suits you
VOLUNTEERS
Volunteering is a fantastic way for individuals of gaining new skills and meeting new people. Employers will always be interested in candidates with volunteering experience. You don’t have to commit a set amount of hours each week to volunteer for us. We have a range of flexible, low time-commitment roles which can fit around your studies and work.
Lisa"I love SOS simply because it isn't a loud, high profile organisation spending money on big marketing budgets. To me this is a huge part of the attraction. The fact that SOS has such a large international reach adds to the feeling that it very quietly achieves wonderful things, where it matters, all over the world.
I love volunteering there and feeling part of something so special and unique".

OPPORTUNITIES
United Kingdom
Our UK team is based in Cambridge. We’d love you to join us in the office or to help us organising and attending events. Some volunteering opportunities can be taken from home if you prefer.
If you are interested in volunteerig your time, please email us and provide an indication of how you might like to help!
Overseas
SOS Children’s Villages does not send volunteers abroad to work in our Children’s Villages. We prefer to use local staff to make use of local knowledge and resources. There are a few reasons for this.
Firstly, it is good for the children we care for to be looked after by people who can offer a long-term commitment, which volunteers rarely can. This ensures stability in the lives of the children we care for, and that they are surrounded by people who speak their own language and are familiar with their culture.
Secondly, by employing local staff we also make a contribution to the local economy. Some exceptions are made at the discretion of SOS Children’s Villages locally in cases where people can offer specialist skills: you will need to contact the national office directly concerning this.
MAJOR DONATIONS
Giving a big donations to SOS Children’s Villages can and does make a huge impact in the life of orphan and abandoned children.
Our fundraising team will work closely with you, building a strong long-term relationship and understanding your interests. We will help direct your donations towards the projects you are most passionate about. When appropriate you will also be able to see the impact your donation will make first hand.
