I've just discovered My houzz and probably will be binge-watching all of them rather than Netflix. Having two sisters also, I very much related to this story. Well done Kristen, Melissa, Tom, and houzz!!!!!

I grew up in Redford Township in the 50's, not far from this Detroit home in a similar looking house.

I loved how the renovation turned out and I'm sure that Kristen's niece will love her new room all to herself. I hope they made the walls and door to her room sound proof to block the tv and game room noises.

I retired to a new home in southwest Utah and Houzz came in handy to come up with ideas, even what I'd like to do with my tiny backyard someday when I have the money.

I also used Houzz to educate myself on how much things costs nowadays and to find less expensive alternatives.

So admire the owners for restoring and maintaining this historic, classic house. Stunning. A treasure.

Lovely. Am so impressed with what Sonia and Ted did over the years to restore and upkeep the home; it's a treasure and a work of art. The light fixtures are just fabulous.

I too have many books I re-read. Can't tell you how many times I've read The Hobbit & The Lord of the Rings. Also all my Edward Rutherfurd, getting ready to read Sarum for the 4th time. It's a biggie,1059 pages, which is one reason I love it since I'm a fairly fast reader.

Now, when it comes to where to donate, call your local jail. Some may take only paperback so ask . They will be truly appreciated, I was a civilian employee at the county jail which also housed low risk state inmates, they loved seeing me with all those books. You have a captive audience so genre doesn't seem to matter.

Like just about anything- living or nonliving- books can fall under the category of "stuff". And stuff can matter for all kinds of reasons. And only you can decide whether it's a part of you in some way or if it's just an object.
