Nova's Ash, Kip and Luttsy reclaim radio crown

Nova's Ash, Kip and Luttsy have leapt back to the top of the Brisbane radio podium for the first time this year, thanks to a major surge in listeners.

The trio, with swim star Susie O'Neill, enjoyed a big bump for the second ratings period in a row as Triple M appeared to lose a chunk of the audience that followed star Robin Bailey across from 97.3FM at the start of the year.

HIT 105 also lost a crowd of listeners while ABC Radio Brisbane host Craig Zonca's smaller slide was enough to see him lose top spot.

Nova owned almost 15 per cent of the breakfast market in March and May thanks to that 2-point listener boost, followed by daylight, then ABC with 12.1 per cent and a logjam for third place fought out tightly by HIT, 97.3 and Triple M.

The latest results will be a relief for Australian Radio Network management, which had seen its one-time powerhouse continuously slide down the ratings after the departure of Bailey last year.

The 0.6-point bounce in the latest survey was the station's first gain since the star went to rival Triple M.

ARN national content director Duncan Campbell previously said it could take a few surveys to build a new show.

"We've had great feedback from 97.3 listeners and will continue to support the show as part of our long-term strategy for Brisbane," he said.

Nova also extended its seemingly untouchable lead in Drive, where more than one in five Brisbanites listened to Kate, Tim and Marty, also handing the station a sizeable overall lead.
