As he announced that he would withdraw the United States from the Paris climate pact, Donald Trump concentrated most of his lies on the Paris accord and the environment. But he made time for a couple of off-topic lies as well. Like this one:

“Our tax bill is moving along in Congress, and I believe it’s doing very well,” Trump said Thursday afternoon in a Rose Garden speech announcing that the U.S. will pull out of the Paris global climate pact.

Although no such legislation exists, Trump said, “I think a lot of people will be very pleasantly surprised.”

People who knew reality were certainly surprised to hear that the nonexistent bill was “doing very well,” but pleasantly surprised? Probably not so much.

Trump also opened his remarks by saying that he was “closely monitoring the terrorist attack in Manila.” According to police in the Philippines, it was a robbery, not a terrorist attack.
