WA farm tragedy: Boy, 12, dies after falling in grain silo

A 12-year-old boy has died after falling into a grain silo on a farm in Dinninup in WA's southeast on Saturday evening.

At around 5pm, two boys aged 11 and 12 were sat on a grain silo.

The machine was being towed behind a vehicle across a paddock. The vehicle was being driven by an adult.

"The boys both accidently fell into the grain silo," WA police sergeant Andrew Maher said.

"Despite resuscitation attempts a 12 year old boy died at the scene."

WA Police said they would prepare a report for the coroner, and WorkSafe had been advised of the accident.
