More than 150,000 people have passed through the doors of the National Gallery of Victoria's winter masterpieces show Van Gogh and the Seasons in just over a month, making it one of the fastest-selling exhibitions in the institution's history.

The show focuses on prosaic scenes such as autumnal landscapes and workers toiling in fields rather than the depictions of sunflowers and starry night skies for which the Dutch painter is best known.
"It's no surprise that this exhibition has proved a winner, but to hit this milestone so quickly is incredible," Creative Industries Minister Martin Foley said on Thursday morning at NGV International.
"We are absolutely thrilled with the amount of people that have seen Van Gogh and the Seasons so far," said NGV director Tony Ellwood.
The gallery attracted more than 2.6 million visitors in 2016, according to figures supplied to Britain's The Art Newspaper, which ranked the NGV 19th in its annual list of the world's most visited museums.
