Federal Insurance Contributions Act tax

Federal Insurance Contributions Act (FICA) tax /ˈfaɪkə/ is a United States federal payroll (or employment) tax imposed on both employees and employers to fund Social Security and Medicare—federal programs that provide benefits for retirees, the disabled, and children of deceased workers. The tax also provides funds to the health care system for institutions that provide healthcare for workers that do not have health insurance and can not afford healthcare treatment. Social Security benefits include old-age, survivors, and disability insurance (OASDI); Medicare provides hospital insurance benefits for the elderly. The amount that one pays in payroll taxes throughout one's working career is associated indirectly with the social security benefits annuity that one receives as a retiree. This has caused some to claim that the payroll tax is not a tax because its collection is tied to a benefit. The United States Supreme Court decided in Flemming v. Nestor (1960) that no one has an accrued property right to benefits from Social Security. The Federal Insurance Contributions Act is currently codified at Title 26, Subtitle C, Chapter 21 of the United States Code.

Luciano Huck

Luciano Huck (born September 3, 1971 in São Paulo) is a Brazilian TV presenter. For the past twelve years, he has hosted “Caldeirão do Huck” (literally, Huck's Calderon), aired every Saturday by Brazilian network Rede Globo. The show tops all viewing ratings of its time slot and is broadcast to the entire Brazilian territory, as well as to 115 countries via Globo International. Twenty million people watch the show every week. In 2009, Huck was the first Brazilian to have one million followers on Twitter, in only four months. Nowadays, 4.5 million people follow his tweets (@lucianohuck), and circa 5 million people have liked his Facebook page.

At 20, Luciano Huck worked as an intern at Brazilian advertising agency W/Brasil, run by adman Washington Olivetto. Together with friends, he also opened Cabral, a successful bar in São Paulo. Luciano Huck was also an intern at advertising agencies DM9, run by Nizan Guanaes, and Talent.

Gisele Bündchen

Gisele Caroline Bündchen (Portuguese pronunciation: [ʒiˈzɛli kaɾoˈlini ˈbĩtʃẽj], German pronunciation: [ɡiːˈzɛlə ˈbʏntçn̩]; born 20 July 1980) is a Brazilian fashion model, actress, and producer. She is the Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations Environment Programme.

In the late 1990s, Bündchen was the first in a wave of Brazilian models to find international success. In 1999, Vogue noted "The Return of the Sexy Model", and she was credited with ending the "heroin chic" era of modeling. Bündchen was one of the Victoria's Secret Angels from 2000 until mid-2007. Bündchen pioneered the "horse walk", a stomping movement created when a model picks her knees up high and kicks her feet out in front.Claudia Schiffer and Naomi Campbell have stated that Bündchen is the only remaining true supermodel.

Bündchen has also ventured into acting. She played a supporting role in Taxi (2004), for which she was nominated at the Teen Choice Awards for Choice Movie Breakout Performance and for Choice Movie Bad Guy. Bündchen also had a supporting role in The Devil Wears Prada (2006), and from 2010 to 2011 she was the executive producer of an educational environmental cartoon, Gisele & the Green Team. Bündchen supports many charities including Save the Children, Red Cross and Doctors without Borders, as well as dedicating time to environmental causes.
