Welcome to week 20 of Presidential Apprentice, and the 23rd round of the Donald Trump National Golf Tournament, David Waldman calls the shots: Is today the day Donald Trump finally became president? No, but it is about time to get alarmed. Greg Dworkin helps us figure out who the good guys are. Trump’s national security team thought he might be on someone’s side but his own. Of course they were wrong. Trump is on the stupid side, and stupid is winning. Trump doesn’t trust climate scientists, once he had a golf date rained out. The Associated Press doesn’t trust Trump to report the news. The Gop plan on you not trusting the media. What source is “official” anymore? Britain is not “under siege” or “reeling” and doesn’t need us to panic. Trump trails Obama by 55 points, so it is understandable to miss Barack now, but please don’t interview another poor Ohioan. Donald has caught Comey-mania early, but is unlikely to prevent its spread through executive privilege. Ivanka Trump’s lazy, disingenuous, shallow, self-involved political brand is still going strong. Armando thinks it’s a good time to invest in tar, feathers and rails to run Trump out on. One of the last legit places to give Donald Trump a loan, The Deutsche Bank, ignored a U.S. Trump/Russia query from the U.S. House Financial Services Committee. If you really need a reason to start panicking, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Egypt, and Bahrain are cutting ties to Qatar, and Qatar is deploying 1,000 ground troops to fight in Yemen. So, who wants Trump to mistrust Qatar? Saudi Arabia's rulers threatened to make it easier for terrorists to attack London unless corruption investigations into their arms deals were halted. Coming up this week on KITM: An exploration into the myth of the kindly General Lee.  And—how the Trump-Russia data machine games Google to fool Americans. Now, you can’t google it to find out more, you need to tune into us!

Another garbage fire of a weekend has passed, with a terrorist attack in London, and Trump tweeting triumphant excoriation of London’s mayor as he waited for the cars to be brought around for a second day at the golf course.

Congress is due back from hiding. And something’s boiling over in the Persian Gulf. But whatever it is, I’m sure Jared & Ivanka will totally moderate it.

Time to catch up, and get ready to gasp in horror. Again.

Today is Friday, also known as “Do Whatever the Hell You Want” Day at KITM. Today you’ll especially enjoy what the hell David Waldman wanted to do, which is invite Arliss Bunny, co-creator of the Hopping Mad with Will McLeod and Arliss Bunny podcast to converse about how modern monetary theory and practice influences everything going on today. Well, maybe not Donald Trump, who is a dumb baby, or his followers, who never met a snowflake they didn’t want to torture. MMT influences them, they just may not know it yet. Plenty of CEOs and world leaders do understand however, and are making plans to move forward without us. Want to be a smart bunny that also understands this stuff? You can! For less than three bucks! The FEC might get around to investigating Russian agents using Facebook to influence the election. No Trump EO specifically telling Democrats to screw themselves, but they are moving in that direction. The New York Post claims the Lincoln Bedroom is not a new red light district. Friday at last!

Not that Friday means any reprieve from the madness. In fact, weekends are usually even crazier under the Trump Junta than weekdays are. But still, there’s something comforting about marking the close of another week. One more down, and that much closer to being rid of this puffy oaf.

Maybe we’ll find some time for some non-Trump stories, just for a change of pace.

Or, maybe he’ll go nuts again on Twitter in the morning. Week 19, we’re so done with you!

It’s getting harder and harder to adequately address the number of daily headlines that are legitimate outrages. But Greg Dworkin manages quite nicely with his roundup, and even draws Armando into the mix again today. Trump prepares to ignore the worldwide phenomenon, which some believe is a hoax, and withdraw the U.S. from the Paris climate change agreement, abdicating America’s leadership role in global affairs. Meanwhile, Rep. Tim Wahlberg (R-MI) is relying on another worldwide phenomenon, which some believe is a hoax, to save us. Believe me, the world can see what Trump’s doing. And what he’s not. That much I can tell you. Will Republicans who call him out pay a price at the polls? How about loyalists in marginal & shifting districts? Or does the post-Brexit experience of the fringe-right indicate a different outcome? Speaking of which, Nigel Farage has made the FBI’s list in the Trump-Russia investigation. And speaking of that, James Comey is set to testify next week. Armando chimes in on the complicated question of whether Trump can invoke “executive privilege” to stop him. Meanwhile, “recused” House Intelligence Committee chair Devin Nunes is meddling again, this time unilaterally issuing subpoenas without informing committee Dems. In health care legislation news, who owns the problems now? The Gop, by an almost 40-point margin. But LOL YOLO, nothing matters. Unless it does. Trump grifters exploit yet another target, this time the families of victims of crime Trump built his immigration rhetoric around. And yet another central tenet of the campaign is smashed as Trump grants ethics & lobbying waivers to his entire WH senior staff, yet avoids naming names. And if you’re using the First Amendment to spill the beans, Trump’s got a Fourth Amendment surprise for you. Thinking of deferring taxes on your vast wealth until Republicans slash rates? Turns out you’re pushing us past the debt ceiling quicker than expected. Hope that doesn’t cause you any problems.

David Waldman’s refrigerator is still on the fritz. It looks like probably the covfefe stopped up, and those are hand-woven to order, so it might be a while. While David consulted with his team of appliance specialists, KITM was kept on the air by the combined talents of Greg Dworkin and Armando, who covfefed the covfefe out of that covfefe. When you thought you couldn’t dislike him more, Donald Trump pulls out of the Paris climate accord. Actually, it is hard to like Trump less, so the importance of American support for issues such as the Paris climate accord and against the roll back of the birth-control mandate for employers needs to be measured in the voting booth. Why key state polls were wrong about Trump. The Gop puts effort into getting people to like Elizabeth Warren less. The Republican party gives up everything and jumps on the Trump train. Meanwhile, progressives shake up Virginia politics, and a liberal blog called Daily Kos is the Democratic Party’s new kingmaker. Virginia seems to have figured out how to enact voter ID laws without violating the Voting Rights Act or the Constitution, although the intent remains voter suppression. A Pennsylvania Patriot visiting our nation’s capital finds his liberty to keep and bear arms very infringed.

What the hell does ??? mean?

Well, it means I just found out that the refrigerator repair guys can only come between 8-12 this morning, but I didn’t want to just give up and use a re-run podcast today.

That’s not to say that we might not be forced to. Nor does it mean that we have any truly professional means of handling things should they arrive mid-show.

We don’t know what it means. It means we’ll try to pretend everything’s normal, and if the doorbell rings, we’ll see if Greg Dworkin and/or Armando can stretch things out a bit. And if not, well, maybe we do run some old “clips” to fill in the gaps.

It’s a metaphor for Trump, somehow. That must be it.

Donald Trump’s trip was a disaster; a nearly perfect catastrophe for the U.S. and Europe, the world laughs at us, mocks us, and distances itself from us. No wonder White House communications director Michael Dubke is getting out before anyone finds out he works there. How does Hope HIcks do it? Good thing Hope has Donald to help her out of this mess. Trump experiences life through the windshield of a golf cart. Donald Trump also cheats at golf. We somehow accepted that, but the rest of world has learned to not only distrust Trump, but to distrust a country capable of electing Trump. Armando is David Waldman’s guest to discuss whether Trump’s European visit has destroyed America’s 70+ year relationship with Europe. The Russians seem to have collected 'derogatory' information about Trump and associates during campaign. Jared Kushner might have heard of Russian generosity when he wanted to set up the secret back channel to solve the Syrian crisis, create world peace or something, he doesn’t remember, he had his boy take care of it. James Comey acted on Russian intelligence he knew was fake. Steve Bannon is faking out Donald on the Paris accord. The Gop gives the pink slip to the blue slip as another governing norm gets swept away.

A live Memorial Day KITM today, mostly because one can’t look away for a minute from this car wreck, when this car just keeps wrecking. No, but first thing’s first. When will the New York Times admit to its 2016 election coverage errors? Donald Trump and Jared Kushner are CEO and COO of the destruction of America. Whoa, what’s that smell? Oh, it’s the stench of Jared Kushner’s treason. Jared is in it as deep as Donald, maybe deep enough to encourage him to return to a quiet life of slum-lording, and get away from super-geniusing for a while. Who is the the real string-puller behind Trump? Is Kushner the true Wunderkind/Verräter of the operation? What can we really believe about Kushner? David delves further into the Jared Kushner Russia-social media connection, and Russia’s social media war on America. This backgrounder on Kushner is so extensive, even David’s 8th grade English teacher is covered. Eventually, everyone related to a Trump is going to hop on the Trump gravy train. What?
