'Carnage': Father dies in head-on crash near Ledge Point

A man has died in a head-on crash near Ledge Point on Monday afternoon.

The crash happened at around 12.40pm, approximately 10kms south of the Ledge Point turn off.

It is understood a grey Holden SUV was heading north, and a red Mitsubishi four-wheel-drive towing a caravan was travelling south on the road.

Police believe the two vehicles then crashed in a head-on collision.

The male driver of the Holden died at the scene while the occupants of the Mitsubishi sustained non-life threatening injuries.

A St John Ambulance spokeswoman said two children and their mother were believed to have received non-life-threatening injuries.
