Green Bay may refer to:
Several teams associated with Green Bay, Wisconsin:
Roller derby is a contact sport played by two teams of five members roller skating in the same direction around a track. Game play consists of a series of short match ups (jams) in which both teams designate a jammer who scores points by lapping members of the opposing team. The teams attempt to hinder the opposing jammer while assisting their own jammer—in effect, playing both offense and defense simultaneously. Roller derby is played by approximately 1,250 amateur leagues worldwide, nearly half of them outside the United States.
While the sport has its origins in the banked-track roller skating marathons of the 1930s, Leo Seltzer and Damon Runyon are credited with the basic evolution of the sport to its initial competitive form. Professional roller derby quickly became popular; in 1940, more than five million spectators watched in about 50 American cities. In the ensuing decades, however, it predominantly became a form of sports entertainment where the theatrical elements overshadowed the athleticism. This gratuitous showmanship largely ended with the sport's contemporary grassroots revival in the first decade of the 21st century. Although some sports entertainment qualities such as player pseudonyms and colorful uniforms were retained, scripted bouts with predetermined winners were abandoned.
San Francisco Bay is a shallow estuary that drains water from approximately 40% of California. Water from the Sacramento and San Joaquin rivers, and from the Sierra Nevada mountains, passes through the Bay to the Pacific Ocean. Specifically, both rivers flow into Suisun Bay, which flows through the Carquinez Strait to meet with the Napa River at the entrance to San Pablo Bay, which connects at its south end to San Francisco Bay. However, the entire group of interconnected bays is often called the San Francisco Bay.
San Francisco Bay is in the U.S. state of California, surrounded by a contiguous region known as the San Francisco Bay Area (often simply "the Bay Area"), dominated by the large cities San Francisco, Oakland, and San Jose. The waterway entrance to San Francisco Bay from the Pacific Ocean is called the Golden Gate. Across the strait spans the Golden Gate Bridge. The bay was designated a Ramsar Wetland of International Importance on February 2, 2013.
The bay covers somewhere between 400 and 1,600 square miles (1,040 to 4,160 square kilometers), depending on which sub-bays (such as San Pablo Bay), estuaries, wetlands, and so on are included in the measurement. The main part of the Bay measures 3 to 12 miles (5 to 20 km) wide east-to-west and somewhere between 48 miles (77 km)1 and 60 miles (97 km)2 north-to-south. It is the largest Pacific estuary in the Americas.
"Fly by II" is a song recorded by English boy band Blue. It was released on 18 March 2002 as the fourth and final single released from their debut studio album All Rise (2001). The released included the first ever non-album exclusive, "Love R.I.P". The song is a remixed version of the All Rise album track "Fly By", which samples the song "Rise" by Herb Alpert while this song samples from The Notorious B.I.G.'s "Hypnotize". "Rise" was a number-one hit record in America and was written by Randy Badazz Alpert and Andy Armer.
"Fly by II" reached number six on the UK Singles Chart. The song is also notable as being the only song associated with All Rise to be recorded at Blue's famous recording partnership Metropolis Studios, which has been the venue for such recording artists as Madonna and Mick Jagger.
The video for "Fly by II" is a typical video from Blue. It features the lads in a car driving to an underground hangout which includes breakdancing, dominoes and rap battling. The boys then proceed to go upstairs to a rave club, and it then moves to them dancing in the club, while performing which starred Ricky Whittle.
